Big thanks! I had a different model and found directions printed on the back. The text was tiny so I took a pic of it and magnified it so I could read it. The one I am dealing with is 36 years old and still works great!

wicked, informative video. I only deal with electronic ignition, either spark or hot plate, so thanks for this! Next time though, try spinning the blower motor first. A lit pilot, main burner and failed cut off switch could make for a seriously bad day for a customer.

3:55 I was just thinking how a stick or something would have been safer. However, as you had stated if something happened, that could have made a viral video. Glad to see he still has 10 fingers :)

once you push the button for the pilot light the tube stars to slowly fill up with natural gas... people always underestimate the time it takes for it to fill with natural gas and then exit the ube. In gas fire places it might take you 30 before all the tubing and burners fill with gas. Propane tends to be at a higher pressure and fill faster so things like a propane grill are almost instant. Also a lot of those motors are induction and when they aren't working the first step is to just swap out the capacitor. Typically there is another induction motor in the in the building that you can borrow a capacitor for ttroubleshooting until you source the correct one for your device.

You have a great understanding of these concepts for sure! Thanks for your comment!

Thank you for the video I learned a little bit more than I knew from relighting ting gas water heater pilot and furnace pilot lights. You look a little bit like Luke Skywalker, keep sticking your hands in the fans and maybe you’ll have the same robotic as him, lol, J/K.

I just bought a house with a reznor f100-3 in the shop. I had no clue how to light it until I found this video. Do you need to use a blow torch, or will a lighter work?

I had a same issue with my garage furnace. When there was no continuity from motor coil, I opened motor housing and found the motor heat protector fuse burnt out. Could not figure out the amp of heat protector fuse, so just bypassed and soldered direct. Now motor perfectly works smoother than before as I lubed all bearings, but it does not start or shut off itself while gas on and off. I am using it manully. I have hard time to figure out the wiring and checking heat sensor switch and high heat cut off sensor switch. Looking for some videos or wiring diagrams.

If your fan doesn't spin freely then it is most likely bad

Can it be installed in a 900 sq basement? Obviously I have a chimney and gas service but the ceiling is only 7ft

I have this same heater looking to put up in my garage. Is this one worth it or will I save more money with a newer more efficient one?

Using a torch such as he did to light the pilot is never recommended on these furnaces as you have a very high potential to damage the thermocouple tip in the process. The thermocouple is NOT designed to take as much concentrated heat as a torch can deliver. Did it work? Yes. Has it probably worked for years? Probably. Does that mean you should do it? …no.

So what are you supposed to use instead?

@@wanderingdeer1114 A simple grill lighter from a dollar store will EASILY reach in to almost any pilot light. Squeeze the trigger and hold until it's lit.

@@wanderingdeer1114Yes. Some articulate and some just a long tube. Google "Disposable Grill Lighter". Don't spend more than a couple dollars on one.
