Guaranteed same year, same model, same driving your Ecoboost will die way before the V8 and NA V6. May run like a "champ" but that strain is tugging at that engine. That's just what happens when you do that to any engine. Any solid mechanic or automotive engineer will echo that.

You can thankfully get a column in most version of the F-150. The center shifter is a total gimmick that's just screaming "I'll be a problem in 5 years!!!" at you the entire time.

In any event, I do like the overall look and layout of this truck. Like you, I think I'd be a bit annoyed with the placement of that seam on my back with the front seats. The same may also be true for me with the center console and driver's door armrests since I'm also the same height as you. We just bought the exact same truck (same color too!) for our family of 4... except we got the 20" Rims and upgraded B&O Audio. Ford hit a home run and we love it.
Micah, I specked one to $82000. I'd want the hybrid. And yes, I see the gear lever EVENTUALLY having issues. That being said, I like it a lot. Oh, and don't forget the guy that powered his neighbors houses during the Texas freeze a month ago with his F150.
Fun to watch a family review of the F150, because my family is similar with 3 people of which we have a daughter, and it's been a purchase in looking forward to when my 1998 Explorer (original owner!) retires. Would love to see more family lifestyle activities and how the vehicle enhances or detracts from the engagements. It'll be fun to see practicality of using it to go grocery shopping, Costco hauls, camping, park trips with bicycles... Etc. Just a thought, nonetheless thank you for the video.
@@jimhlee my 05 had a temporary retirement from daily driving from 2019 to last month. I had gotten a 2018 f150 brand new as a leftover. Unfortunately it was totaled at the end of august and I’m now back to using the explorer. 213k on the old 4.6 and she’s still running like a top thankfully
The transmission is electronically controlled. Vehicles used to have what was known as a kick down cable to the trans and that would kick the trans down for passing. It was adjustable. Now I dont know about this one, because Im retired now, but it should also be adjustable. The dealer should be able to address that.

Sure $67k msrp, but trucks out the door go for 8-12k off msrp. You get a lot of vehicle and a lot of features for the money if you compare it to something like a midsize luxury brand SUV. It’s basically like having two vehicles in one - a luxurious comfortable family friendly ride, and a work vehicle to tow/haul anything you could ever need also able to go off-road. I personally would never spend that much on a 1/2ton truck, but I get why people do.

Truck are tax favored. If you’re buying one for your business, then it’s a reasonable expense that can be written off quickly. The residuals are high to boot. If you’re buying one with after-tax dollars to be fashionable, then it would be wiser to choose a used one or maybe a minivan.
We have a cover for ours and it is a great family car for us plus 2 kids. We have taken it to the beach several times and taken so much kid gear in the back because it’s covered.

The new gmc vehicles are not reliable. The silverado and sierra were consumer reports least reliable vehicle a year or so ago I believe. I had a 2019 sierra denali, which was the newest redesign and had constant problems, got rid of it in less than a year. Loved the powertrain with the 6.2, but none of the vehicles electronics worked right.
The F150 just feels like the best car of all for the USA. That folding gear lever is stupid though, they should have put in a rotary or column shift to make the table work better
Timely. Been looking at trucks and am considering all three of the domestics. If I were to get a Ford I'd most likely just get an XLT trim. Seriously, I would also just get the 2.7 Ecoboost V6. I'm not going to be towing or hauling anything really heavy. Mostly just use it like most folks - moving furniture, getting supplies from the garden or building center, etc... Optioned up the way I would want it comes to about $45,000.

I had the panoramic roof on my last f150 and ended up only using it a few times. Living in texas, it just let's in too much heat and light driving during the day for at least half the year.

Safety equipment like lane keep assist is not wanted by everyone. Many traditional truck buyer don’t want (or downright hate) the safety nannies. If you’re going to drive a large vehicle, you shouldn’t need help.
I got one a few days ago I love it but I don’t love how many scratches and paint chips are in it already and all I do is drive it normally on the road to work and home and their is paint chips and scratches everywhere but i only had it 4 days and it had 0 scratches or chips so idk what to do makes me upset that I spend 50000 on this exact truck with 25000 miles with no scratched or chips when I bought it but they are everywhere now in 4 days of normal driving on the road someone plz help
Too bad Ford uses that Active Noise Tech to simulate engine noise! You're ever 100% sure if you're hearing the actual engine or the fake engine...but its a great truck nonetheless! (With the right engine too!)

Nissan Pathfinder Armada. Toyota Camry Solara. Heck even the new Corolla comes in so many different variations but is still under the Corolla name plate.

I don't like console shifters because they waste what is arguably some of the most valuable real estate in a vehicle. For an automatic transmission...Get it back on the column or at least one of those knobs on the dash.

Ecoboosts are issues after 40k. Like pulling steroids in your system quick solution but long term no good. V8s or the NA V6 are the Fords to get.

2021 F150 is awesome. Traded a troublesome 2019 Chevy on mine platinum in January and have put 10000 perfect miles on it.

I have always like the Ram but I can't deny the reliability of GMC... I bought a 91 Sierra 2500 with over 200k and it had zero issues

The 2.7 Ecoboost is a wise choice. I have a 2020 Lariat with that engine and I love it. It has great acceleration, plenty of HP and great gas mileage.
I would love a powerboost lariat with 7.2 kw . Wife just picked up a new Bronco sport so I guess I'll have to wait.
