    Hey everyone! Hope you all enjoyed the video! A note: We know Thomas said that the body panels might rust, but clearly that part is Aluminum. Don't worry we are adding a correction and Thomas' Canadian citizenship has been temporarily revoked. He has been punished by being forced to traverse the Rocky Mountains twice, and consume 32 gallons of Maple Syrup. In the meantime, James is officially the team Canadian. God help us all...
    Okay it’s been fixed! But thomas is still gonna serve his time

      @jess h that "storm" killed people mf. Do you think that the people or infrastructure of Tijuana and Juárez are prepared for a week long freeze, or have made enough investments in snow ploughs to keep up with several days of consecutive snow? San Antonio is over 100 miles south of each of them, roughly the same latitude as Hermosillo and Kuwait. Austin is the same latitude as Jacksonville and Cairo. All these cities aren't exactly known for their snow storms.

    • @Derek.Mitchell
      @Derek.Mitchell 3 роки тому +1

      @jess h I get that it may have been a seasonal occurrence in many parts of the country that are prepared for that kind of thing, but to us it looks like mockery or victim blaming. It's like people dont understand that San Antonio is 350 miles south of Los Angeles and that expecting them to be prepared for even a little freeze is like expecting New York to be prepared for something we experience every summer like 100 days of 100 degree heat.

    Randy Jones used his Powerboost F-150’s onboard generator to power his 75” TV and coffee pot during the Texas blackouts while others froze or were hit with $15,000 electric bills. All it cost him was a few gallons of unleaded. What a boss 😎👍👍

    • @1ossksa
      @1ossksa 3 роки тому

      15000$ electric bill probably going to need more than 1000 gallon.
      Also, generation that much of energy will reduce the engine live massively. It like driving 40k kilometers.

    • @andrewb325
      @andrewb325 3 роки тому +15

      @@1ossksa the $15,000 bills weren't from excessive use. They were from rates that skyrocketed to 100 times their normal level since they had no cap. Of course he didn't use as much electricity as he normally would have, but he was still able to power a heater, refrigerator, freezer, microwave and TV so he was able to stay fairly comfortable. Others had no choice. I'd say he's the clear winner here.
      Also TFL NOW in their BMW I3 charging review showed that even at max generating level (7KW) the F-150 Powerboost engine speed remained at 1.000 rpm for the duration of their test. That's hardly stressing the engine.

    Two things: The U-Haul Car Hauler’s fender folds down on the driver’s side. I towed my car 3 times before learning that. Also, F-150s have aluminum alloy bodies over steel frames. So if it rusts it may split in half, but at least the body should look fine...

    • @johnhand2992
      @johnhand2992 3 роки тому +2

      Was gonna say that about the trailer fender too. Also, the brakes on the trailer only activate if the trailer becomes disconnected from the hitch - they don't assist with stopping while towing.

    • @dennisgrabowski7738
      @dennisgrabowski7738 3 роки тому

      @@johnhand2992 I'm not sure that's quite true about the trailer brakes. I believe it's a surge brake system. It's a hydraulic system that uses the weight of the trailer pushing against the hitch to activate the brakes.

    • @johnhand2992
      @johnhand2992 3 роки тому

      @@dennisgrabowski7738 hmm could be. I noticed the brakes weren't helping me when I was backing the loaded trailer down my steep driveway and my truck was still getting pulled down the hill with my brakes completely locked up. I mentioned it to the Uhaul employee and they said it was only emergency brakes. Maybe they just don't work if the load is pulling on the hitch instead of pushing.

    • @dennisgrabowski7738
      @dennisgrabowski7738 3 роки тому +3

      @@johnhand2992 A true surge brake isn't designed to work in reverse. There's actually a pin your supposed to insert that locks the moving parts of the trailer tongue to prevent it from locking up the brakes when moving backwards. Not sure if this is how U-haul's smaller car carriers are set up. They often get damaged by customers too and local mom & pop U-haul centers aren't really known for their maintenance up keep.

    Just picked my Lariat Powerboost with the 7.2kw up on 3/27/21. Absolutely love it. Went to where I store my travel trailer and powered the AC and microwave with not problem. If needed we can even charge my wife’s Tesla once I find the right plug adapter.

      Many people have reported on their 2021 Ford F150s they are already getting rusty. You can look it up. It was covered on motor trend and car and driver I believe

    • @nonickerson
      @nonickerson 3 роки тому +2

      The body panels are made from aluminum but axles, differentials, and other components underneath are still metal. Go to a ford lot and look underneath any 2021 F150 the diff and driveshaft will probably be completely rusted already.

    Full size trucks are basically luxury vehicles now. Every other McMansion here in Florida has an up level trim F150, Ram, or Silverado/Sierra sitting in front of it.

      Yes, Scottish is a big part of our culture here and we all talk like the MacKenzie brothers, it's true. But i would lock James in the National Igloo until he learns to speak Inuktitut fluently and love eating seal heart. Ostie câlisse.

      I live in the Toronto area. There's way too many cultures and nationalities here to expect everyone to talk like the into. BUT as soon as you leave the city areas you start to really experience Canadian culture. I was in Newfoundland a couple years ago and got the full Canadian stereotype lifestyle and I loved it.

    The arch over the trailer wheels folds down via pulling that black "T" shaped bit of rubber to allow you ample room to get the vehicle door to open. Lesson learned by me as well.
