    I had a 2001 Leesurlite that I put about 30k miles in. One side entry. Had a box in front and back. Cut the mileage on my ST1300 from 40 to 30. Wonderful bed. Slept in it raining, snowing, sleet

    This thing weighs about 220 pounds. You can’t fun another quick setup camper this good. Bed is great, tows great and makes life much better than sleeping on the ground. Never had any problem with people messing with it when I was riding around the area. Recommended. If an underpowered Kaw Nomad can tow it, you might be able to with a Honda Cub. I used an St1300.

      The material is heavy enough the wind does not bother it at all it lays flat all the time. I have stayed in trailer where the wind was just out right nuts and never had a leak. These trailers are the best of the best. I warn you if you tow it by a bike do not think that you still are riding with two wheels you have to ride totally different braking is totally useless on a bike and just everthing is totally different the rule is you must be so so careful when towing a trailer beyond being careful as you have no control over anything. The trailer pushes you the trailer does not stop the trailer will take you in an emergency where you do not want to go. You have to be with your mind on travel at all times.

    Great video. I have been shopping for a nice camper to pull behind my '17 Goldwing F6B Deluxe. I thought the Mini Mate was the one, until I just saw this video. It looks incredibly quick and easy to set up. However, I am wondering, is the ease of setup at the sacrifice of internal storage? Most motorcycle campers have quite a bit of internal storage because the tent completely collapses and you remove the internal tent support structures. Is there any internal storage? If the only large storage is the one on the tongue, that would dramatically increase the tongue weight on your bike.

    • @konto1313
      @konto1313  5 років тому +1

      There is some internal storage I used rubbermaid plastic bins inside trailer. No will not be as much as the trailers where the hardware for the tent portion is a disassembly of the tent portion you give up ease of set up with those models. Yes you have to be careful with what you use the front storage pod and what you put in it for sure. I found I had enough storage with the unit with inside storage and pod underneath trailer and front pod and my bags. It is an amazing trailer for a bike and the set up is so easy compared to any other on the market. It is the best of the best of motorcycle trailers nothing compares to the quality and build and set up. It is as easy as I show in video. I would not purchase any other trailer on the market but everyone has their own opinion and that is up to you to make.

    I for one liked your video. I am about to acquire an early model and liked to see what I may need to address. Pretty sure the top will need to be reinforced (perhaps from the inside, sheet plywood?). The frame will be sealed with a rhino hide liner material. Def do the crossed fiberglass poles to help the canopy shed water. The hinge will also be beefed up. I look forward to getting it and doing a "frame off" update to it. btw, may have to give "forty creek" a try too, barrel select right?

      I added 1/4" oak plywood glued with poly urethane, using a notched trowel and add weights to the floor while the glue sets up. A lot stiffer now. I also added a shower rod to the inside for hanging stuff. Also had a diamond plate pan made for the top to hold a car top bag.

    • @konto1313
      @konto1313  6 років тому +2

      It tows perfectly fine once you are moving you would not even know it is behind you. A trailer changes everything about a bike you have to be ever so careful towing one. You braking is affected, how the bike handles is affected it no longer handles the same, When you turn to miss something on the road it will turn right in the path of what your trying to tow. The trailer will push you when your trying to stop it changes all the perimeters of how a bike handles be prepared for the bike not being a bike any longer.
      What I am saying if your prepared to tow a trailer be prepared for the bike to not handle anything like a bike anymore it will be completely different. You must be prepared at all times for an accident be careful of who your following leave enough room behind you and just not take any chances. It really in fact is a very dangerous thing to do towing a trailer behind a bike actually.

      mark caffey you can get a lightweight folding solar for around $150 and a solar generator and your good to go. Size depends on your power needs. I have a 100w folding panel for that probably weighs 2 lbs and a 500w solar generator that weighs 7lb. I think that should be doable in one of these trailers. This generator looks pretty powerful for price and weight.

    I don't know of the total quality of other micro campers. I bought my Leesure Lite about 12 years ago. Though the concept and workmanship of the Leesure Lite are excellent, it has several notable shortcomings. The metal trailer frame rusts. The fiberglass of both the bed flooring and the standing area are too thin...a very serious problem for fiberglass. The wheels are so small that they wear quickly. The height of the box is such that if the set-up site isn't level the "tongue" end of the trailer can only be positioned uphill. For the extender poles inside the tent, push button locks rather than thumb srews would have been nice. Those are the major concerns I have had with my unit. I have done things to my unit to mitigate these problems. Too bad these things can't be worked out with better models. Perhaps some of them have. I'm not even sure they are still making Leesure Lites. I have concerns about recommending this product.

      You can contact the manufacturer here at their website. www.leesurelite.com it has been a number of years since I had mine. Remember they change every and I mean every aspect of your motorcycle they turn they opposite way when you have to make a hard decision to miss something on the road right into the path of what you want to avoid. They also make stopping a greater distance then when not pulling a trailer. Bikes were not designed to pull a trailer that is a fact. It makes a bike very unsafe you must ride with much more care than you did before. Be very careful when towing one.

    • @konto1313
      @konto1313  4 роки тому +1

      It certainly is strong enough to hold up a 300 lbs if you get the optional heavy duty floor. It is very thick fibreglass floor and doubt you would ever see a problem with it. There are thousands out there of this model and they are manufactured under very high quality control. Only a limited number are produced every year as the owner wants quality not quanity produced. There is a waiting list for these tent trailers you must get on before you will get one.
      Not many things these days are built with quality in mind and hand built but these are hand built. They are the Rolls Royce of tent trailers believe me.

      Yes agree with you Steve it is a great trailer I love mine also. So well built and thought out. Only problem found with trailer is the fold down hinge on the inside bed. They were just put in with screws and would rattle loose so I put a a small plate on top with matching holes for the hinge and used flat headed bolts to secure more tightly. I found also the mud flaps need a plate also in front with bolts hold them better also on trailer. They just use pop rivets and not secure enough for me.
