In regards to the point brought up at 3:51 minute mark that even those who do not hold to a lunar sabbath don't keep the command to work 6 days and rest the 7th, let me just say this...some commands triumph others, for example we are to rest on the Shabbat however if our ox falls into a ditch obviously we work to get it out. This stands true for the Leviticus 23 feasts, if a High Shabbat falls on a weekday (Sunday-Friday) you REST on that day. The lunar sabbath reason for not working 6 days and resting on the 7th (the entire year- not just "most of the time") is completely different. It's because the calculations do not add up when using the moon for the weekly sabbath, and thus extra days pop up occasionally which disrupt the 6 day work/7th day rest cycle. The fact still stands that those who do not hold a lunar sabbatarian view and hold to the "Saturday-Sabbatarian" view, still always rest every 7 days, consistently, regardless of additional days at the end of the months or year. Perhaps (and this is just my speculation) the Father knew that the moon would be thrown off at some point in time and thus why he never commanded the weekly shabbat to be regulated by it. Torah Family does an excellent breakdown in their calendar teaching on the 364 vs 365 day year and how it could have potentially happened (during the flood, when the moon stood still, etc.). But in the end, even though none of us know the "perfect" calendar... we can still always know the weekly shabbat is to be observed every 7 days. With no "non-days" or "transitional days" in between.
Thanks, but how do you know if your keeping the 7th day if you don't know exactly where it started from? A 23 year old 11tth century hebrew philosopher Miamonas is attributed to calculating the year of creation , on which the entire hilill system used today is based off of. same guy was accused of being a heretic. But if the start was off or got changed at any point you would be off by days Forever. Point being you get your start date from some man. Yah gave us start dates in scripture. If your going to stick with a continual 7 days you need a starting point. The only starting point I see besides Genesis creation account which is Yahs week he gives no start date to man directly, is exodus 12 when the command was givin to obey the 1st month which would be done by observing the moon, also at that time, specific days were givin to be observed the first feast which sets the stage for what is to come. I'm not aware of any command directly until exodus for man to keep the sabbath, only that Yah rested. When the law was givin it was commanded. And the first feast in exodus 12 is when he gave man a set appointment time to start the months from and then appointed specific days for worship, remembreance, or observance.

This is one of the best defenses of lunar Sabbath that I have heard. My husband and I have followed the lunar-solar calendar for about 5 years. Some of these reasonings are new to us, but we shall make a note of them because they’re really good. I have one more defense that was not mentioned in this teaching. We understand that this is a response to Lex (by the way, we appreciate Lex very much and follow his channel), so you wouldn’t have a reason to mention it in this setting, but…the international date line. If it goes through the center of your town, you’d have Saturday Sabbath on two different dates depending upon which side of town you live on! Following the sun and the moon, everyone within a geographical area celebrates the Sabbath together. We’re not following professional sports, but we’re familiar with spectators doing “the wave” around a stadium. Sabbath by the sun and the moon works just like the wave. The Sabbath flows like a wave across the earth in such a perfect way that there is no clear dividing line.
"To the law and the testimony..." Isaiah 8:20 "And as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day and stood up for to read". Luke 4:16 If the moon was involved in keeping the seventh day sabbath, there would have been almost endless contention about it among the Jews seeing it does not keep an ubroken perpetual cycle. They fought and argued about everything, but never about the moon. Even the apostate church of Rome could not argue against when the seventh day was. But, according to superstition and tradition, they do recognize a spiritual significance of the various times and appearances of it. Everything in the Jewish religious economy held a perpetual unbroken chain of time and events as directed by God in the OT scriptures. This is also true when one compares Leviticus with the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation The sign of the everlasting covenant among God's remnant people has always been the 7th day sabbath, not a lunar sabbath. So, why make this change in worshiping the Creator and Redeemer God? It is prophesied in the NT that every wind of doctrine will be blowing in the last days right before the second coming. As Jesus admonished his people many times, especially in relation to the "time of the end" , "take heed lest any man deceive you."
I only just started keeping the lunar calendar. I plotted it out myself according to the new moons in my part of the world. I avoided the issue for a long time, but teachers like you really convicted me. Thank you, brother.

I had to quit my job of over 20 years for health reasons, and during the ensuing 4 months of unemployment, I took the opportunity to switch to the lunar Sabbath after a fair amount of research. As I was living it, I continued that research, and found two main things that lunar sabbatarians couldn't really address: 1) Torah goes to great lengths when describing not just YHVH's laws, but also the exceptions to those laws. Nowhere in scripture could I find anything to describe how the 7-day weekly cycle was based specifically on the lunar phases, nor how they would be broken up by one or two days so that it could stay on track. You'd think that with the Sabbath being so important, every effort would've been made to explain its every intricacy. Anyone who says "but the Sabbath was forgotten" can read on to my second point... 2) We know that Messiah kept the same Sabbath as his countrymen. Historically, both church fathers and outside sources agree that the Jewish Sabbath corresponded with Saturday, with secular documentation in particular going back hundreds of years before Messiah's birth.

Personally, I don’t know which calendar we’re supposed to be keeping. We shouldn’t point fingers at others for keeping a different one simply because we don’t keep that particular one because none of our calendars are 100% correct. I think they, (YHWH, Yeshuah and all the angels) are keeping it perfectly in heaven now but it is us on earth that have it all messed up.
Exodus 23:13 “And in all that I have said to you, be circumspect and make no mention of the name of other gods, nor let it be heard from your mouth. Exodus 23 goes over the law of Sabbaths, three annual Feast days etc. What stood out to me is verse 13. Circumspect is to be wary and unwilling to take risks. Saturday is named for the Roman god Saturn. I don't know about you, but I'll err on my Father's side and keep His calendar rather than use a god's name for His Sabbath day.
Our faith comes from God through His faithful patriarchs and prophets of ancient Biblical times. None of them kept the Sabbath based upon the showing of the moon and no one can demonstrate that the seventh day of today is different than what has always been known throughout recorded human history as the seventh day. So, this keeping of the Sabbath day by each new moon is quite an enigma to me. "Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God". Romans 10:17

Thank you for all of your thoughts on the lunar Sabbath. Like many others, I am just coming in to this. So many roads are coming out of Rome as the saying goes and we accept them as truths only to find in our search for truth that they are lies. God bless your ministry as many people are coming to the truths and have to look outside of mainstream Christianity to find it.
1) the issue is that the Sabbath, as instituted at creation, has nothing to do with the moon. 2) which ever , those transitional days or non days, do altered the weekly 7 days weekly sequence, instituted by God at creation... and the lunar sabbath falls in different days... sponsoring a wrong sabbath... Shabbath the 7th day of the weekly 7 days cycle...as such instituted. Weekly 7 days Cycles, started from the 1st day to the 7th day as the day of rest...to do otherwise is an error... Only the yearly Sabbaths/ feasts were intituted as lunar cycles...

I can’t imagine it is set so that we use the moon for everything but Sabbath determination, I just can’t defend that yet. I was raised in the Baptist church and started keeping the Sabbath from Friday evening to Saturday evening the last 3 years or so. Didn't realize how much disagreement there is in keeping it. I try to go strictly by scripture. I do not keep the feasts as the scripture states we can only keep the feasts while in Isreal or Jerusalem. There is so much confusion going on with the Church these days. I pray Yeshua opens all our eyes to the truth.
To say there is "much confusion" among believers is an understatement, but we should not try and let these disagreements, which will be cleared up when Yahshua returns, divide us. We (along with a growing number) celebrate the day beginning in the morning (See Genesis) and sometimes when we visit brethren, we will honor their reckoning and our own. We've even celebrated two Passovers with some on a totally different calendar. What's important is that YOU are honoring Yahweh in your discernment and study in keeping His Appointed Times. Shalom.
@@2besavedcom-7 You're not supposed to make replacement ceremonies. Passover is a sacrifice, not a Holiday. It's the Passover Sacrifice that's generally eaten on the first night of Unleavened bread. Creating replacement ceremonies for the pilgrimage feasts is an abomination to Yah.
I am relatively new to this concept of the lunar Sabbath...less than four years actually. Where do you guys find work where this isn't an issue? We are not financially independent...but desire to do this consistantly together as a family (so far we have been split lunar sabbatarians because of work) Any advice is much appreciated.
I am first and foremost a Christian, and I'm also an academic-- I am not a Sabbatharian. But I do know that the calendar was kept in ancient Israel. At this point, I find that it is just assumed in academia. So when I see this raging debate, I tend to feel sorry for how cut down you guys are. the issue am having is whether we believe the luminaries were created on the 1st or 4th day they were created the same day and they were created within the six days of creation so to have a separate day for new moon outside of creation six days is a problem
Light on day 1 is NOT the luminaries. It was called "aether" for a long time until the godless men tried to redefine light. Sun, moon, stars were created on day #4. I don't understand how Brother Matthew gets that they were not.
What day of the week was the moon created? why is Monday "Moon day"? I don't see how it breaks the 7th day cycle? If you just stick to the 7 days in a week cycle. And roughly 4 weeks in a month?
Shalom Matthew, naming a "Non Day" as "Transition Day" or "extended honeymoon" day doesn't change or disprove anything Lex was saying, the problem still stands. Which is that you can't keep the Torah command of working a consistent 6 days then rest. Every calendar has additional days whether at the end of months, or at the end of the year, or even adding a 13th month, however non of those additional days change the fact that you can still work 6 consistent days and rest the 7th, in other words it doesn't disrupt the torah command of Sabbath (work 6 and rest on 7th) the only doctrine that disrupts the command of work 6, rest on 7th for shabbat is the lunar sabbath. In other words, in love, the only belief in which these additional days become an issue in regards to the shabbat is the lunar sabbath, any other calendar with additional days or months is still able to keep the torah command of work 6 days and rest on 7th...so whoever is right has to be able to keep that rule, which eliminates lunar Sabbatarians.
I'm not seeing the lunar Sabbath either. At this time I'm going to do what Yashua did. And as best I can tell He kept the same day that the Jews kept. And as best I know that repeating 7th day hasn't changed since. I'm always open to learning about this... but at this time I simply don't see a Biblical case for it. Shalom
Sabbath - every 7 days. It’s as easy as that, anyone can do it. It’s not some mystery moon calendar calculation that does not equal every seven days. It’s good to point out false doctrine and lunar sabbath is one of those. Yah made it simple - lunar sabbath makes it hard. Days are countable on their own. Months are countable by the moon. You get 7th day Sabbath by reading scripture. You get lunar sabbath by someone telling you about it - there’s your sign.
Didn't people say the same to you when you came to knowledge about Torah? Didn't they assume you heard it from someone on UA-cam? They didn't understand that the scriptures spoke for themselves, they couldn't SEE it, even though you could. Isn't it possible that #1 people other than yourself may see something IN SCRIPTURE that you may not see yet. #2 That YHWH made a way for us to recognize His Sabbaths in His CREATION?
Also, actually Lunar Sabbath is so easy a child can do it. 2 OPPOSING calendars cross crossing thru the months is confusing. I've done both, and Lunar is WAY easier.

The Zadok calendar is the simplest calendar. I am amazed at how it all works out with out going crazy. I made one of those peg board calendar and it’s amazing,you don’t need the internet to know what time it is. If you are keeping the Zadok calendar and would like to make one of these peg board calendars that was used way back when. You can find more on this on the channel Hanging On His Words. There have been various calendars to keep track of times and seasons throughout history, but God set His seven day weekly cycle apart from them in an unbroken sign of a pertetual covenant, the "everlasting covenant". This identifies who we are in relationship to him. The evidences given for the lunar sabbath are mostly based on conjectures, speculations, and theories about the new moons and their relationship to the scriptures and the Sabbath. How could God expect His children to be faithful to anything other than a plain and simple, "thus saith the Lord"?

While I have major issues with the Lunar Sabbath, the Text he is referring to is: ראו כי־יהוה נתן לכם השׁבת על־כן הוא נתן לכם ביום השׁשׁי [ לחם יומים ] שׁבו אישׁ תחתיו אל־יצא אישׁ ממקמו ביום השׁביעי׃ I have isolated the Hebrew phrase "lechem yomim" (לחם יומים) to help you locate it in your Bible software.
Thank you for this video. I believe whole hearted on the lunar sabbath due to certain verses like Genesis how the luminaries we're created to count days keep track of time. I saw Lex's video before this searching for more understanding on this subject and almost for second doubted my thoughts on lunar sabbath. My question is how is it possible to be faithful to the lunar sabbath when living according to the julian/ gregorian calendar? On some months the sabbath lands on a Wednesday or in another month on a Thursday and it cycles through the days on every month throughout the year with the exception of 3 or 4 months where it would land on frinday, Saturday which would give me a chance to observe it since I do not work on those days?
Have you addressed Jubilees in a teaching yet? Specifically Jubilees 6:33-38 where it instructs us to not use the moon to calculate days. Or the issue of no 13th month being recorded in the scripture? Thank you for being open about your beliefs. May Yah bless you.
The moon was never given by God to determine the sabbath. The moon determines the the month , the sun determines the season's of the year. 6 days shall you work , the sabbath is number 7 . Then repeat. It's not hard. God did not give us non days. A new moon can fall on any day. The sabbath day can only fall on the 7th. Day. Do you know the difference between a sabbath and a weekly sabbath? They are not the same.
I have been asked, "How do you KNOW that lunar Sabbath keeping isn't worshipping the moon?"..... My answer..... If YHWH tells you His Moedim are kept and appointed by the moon, then I am not worshipping the moon, I am worshipping YHWH in obedience. Moon worship would be using the moon for something OTHER than what He made it for.

I did consider it back in the late 2000’s, but I didn’t ever adopt that view after studying how ancient civilizations tracked the path of the sun and built monuments to help them know the days we call equinoxes.
@@Mikha335 it's close to the Equinox in date but different in what it measures. The Equilux is the time when there is actually (more or less) 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of night. The Equinox is measured at the equator and there is no equal times. But they say it offers a single measuring point that is the same no mater where you are on Earth (however, the time you actually observe it IS different, for example if the Equinox is seen by you at 3pm it would be seen by someone else in a different location at 5pm etc, etc.) Does that help?
@@emjmnc I'm looking into that too. It seems odd that that would be a starting point for multiple peoples as the time it is actually observed differs depending on where you live. Just like the Equilux differs depending on where you live. The real difference it seems is that the Equilux actually has even light and darkness....still looking into it. I'm not sure that I will trust in what all the other people did...scripture seems to say over and over again that what they do/did is wrong.
We tried calculating by equal-day/equal-night, but we ran into a huge problem because geographically it’s so impossible. Everyplace in the world has a different date for the equilux, and the differences are so great it’s impossible to reconcile. It seems like a good idea according to Enoch, but when you actually do the calculations, it seems like the only way it could possibly work is if we all lived in Jerusalem.
First of all New Moon is never called to being a DAY in the bible coz in the beginning in Genesis 1:2 "the darkness was on the face of the deep" thats the New Moon and God defined DAY being the LIGHT so if the darkness covered everything in Genesis 1:2 where is the DAY where is the LIGHT? New Moon is called New Moon and not New Moon DAY. So when God said "Let there be light" God worked and counted that calendar date to be the first DAY of the week coz obviously there was now a LIGHT to be called it a DAY.
I think there is a lot good points regarding the lunar Sabbath, however I think the weekly seven day cycle must remain unbroken. If there was a way for the Lunar Sabbath to sync with a continual seven day cycle that would be the truth.
Just understand that the Sabbath is the 8th 15th 22nd and 29th day of every new moon no matter how you feel about it In the book of husha Joshua when they march around Jericho for 7 days how did they do this with out breaking Sabbath I'll tell you because they begin there march on new moon day that is how

The devil dislikes the 7th day Sabbath so much he has people believing anything including a lunar Sabbath. The early church kept the feasts and the 7th day weekly Sabbath on Saturday,That's how it's suppose to be. The weekly Sabbath started on the 7th day of creation. And it comes around every 7 days. It has nothing to do with the moon.
Indeed sir... I've just recently began walking this lunar shabbat path. It seems that no one on earth can prove that saturday sabbath is the original sabbath set up by Yah'uwah in the very beginning. I do not know about everyone, but I've been having 4 shabbat for each ka'dash (moon/month). And I've used the she'mash (sun) for the new year in correlation with the seasons. But I'm open to learning and being corrected. But on top of that, without paper calendars and electronic devices, how would we survive?!!
There is no way anyone can prove that Satu*day was the original Sabbath other than the simple fact that Yahshua and all the disciples and apostles celebrated all the same Sabbaths and Appointed Times as everyone else at the time and made no issue about it. This is only one of the major flaws I perceive in the Lunar Sabbath. Other than that, I agree that the month begins at the first sliver and the new year begins on the first new moon after the equinox, so these are things you'll need to start observing for yourself without electronic devices. You can be sure that 99% of the time the equinox is on the 20th March (Roman calendar) or you can physically count it (number your days - Psa 90:12) and keep watch on the moon.
The scriptures says to work 6 days and rest on the seventh. Therefore we must count 6 days of work and rest on the next day which is the seventh day. How can you keepers of the luni sabbath, therefore sometimes go more than 6 days between sabbaths? Shalom
I cover that in the video; for the same reason Saturday Sabbatarians go *less* than 6 work days between Sabbaths multiple times a year. The “work 6 rest the 7th” is the general rule. We do that exactly about 47 weeks a year.
@@emjmnc There's no GENERAL RULE. It's a COMMAND to rest the 7th day. Saturday sabbath keepers count high sabbaths for feasts as separate sabbath occasions IN ADDITION to the standard weekly sabbath.
Brother Matthew. Ive often wondered. Why is it that some seem to see and others do not. Lunar Sabbath, unitarianism, the law, second death, ect. Though I certianly do not think those who don't believe these doctrins are not important to the creator I just wonder why? Is it something in us that causes yah to be able to make us see? And why isn't he causing others to see? Is it just not time yet? I know yah has been very patient with me so I understand the need to be patient with others. What are your thoughts?

Me too, I pray often to have eyes to see and ears to hear. Also to not be deceived. I too, am aware how some people SEE something while others don't. But on the other hand, how many of us brought leftovers from our Christianity into Torah? I think this process we are in is where YHWH is cutting off things that are untrue, solidifying truth we know, and teaching truth we NEVER had that seems foreign to us. I think this is why I like this channel so much, HE IS SO HUMBLE, and respectful of others. When you realize we are ALL learning, why act like a know-it-all-kid?

I came from mormonism so eventhough I can with the disadvantage of being very unfamiliar with the Bible I feel advantaged in that I had to rework every single point of doctrine . I discovered a lot about the Bible alot about me and alot about truth. I certify didn't deserve the creators good graces but for what ever reason he decided I was worth it. I did ask and let him know I was wiling to give up everything I thought I knew to know the truth. And slowly and surely he dismantled all the false teachings and revealed the truth. But to be honest my biggest hang up my whole life was that I didn't trust his word. Once what he said became more true to me than any ideaology then it was really quite simple. But I still wonder how yah does it. Because it's really quite supernatural.

I had to seek Truth because it seemed like every denomination of Christianity somehow had lies mixed with Truth. I was forever seeking "His True Church" and holding everything up to scripture. To me, it's rather compelling evidence to add to all the rest that the Sabbath has always been an unbroken cycle of sevens since creation. The Hebrew word "shabbat" is etymologically linked to "sheva" the Hebrew word for seven along with numerous other observances in the Torah.
I personally find all of this confusing. I've been using My House Ministry's calendar. I don't have enough time to search it out and I'm the only adult in my family that thinks it matters very much......I'm just tired..... trying to hang on. Haven't had too good of a day....Or week......I do love Brother Matthew's humble kind spirit.

I’m tired too mama. There is so much deception and confusion. I think prayer and time with Yah should reveal what he wants for us. I don’t know if I’ll ever get it all figured out. But I think there is mercy and forgiveness in our practice or attempt to honor Him. I’m keeping sabbath as best I can. I know one glorious day we will all be keeping sabbath the same time as the angels in heaven!
My brother you are not alone, I too have been observing the Luna Solar Sabbath since 2011, that is 12 years ago. That's the Truth. The Saturday keepers are panicking.

The problem alot of people have is that they look from their own perspective and assume that the roman calendar with it's names of the days (pagen god's names) are from the beginning of mankind being on this planet. One can either trace what they believe is true, down to it's roots. Or look from the hebrew's perspective at what they did. Or simply look from YHVH perspective at what he has said in regards to all the different examples of time keeping. (not just one example, but all of them so you get a more complete picture) Here are some key examples: (the 3rd example is from the Hebrew's perspective) Eze 46:1 (NASB20) This is what the Lord GOD says: “The gate of the inner courtyard facing east shall be shut for the six working days; but it shall be opened on the Sabbath day and opened on the day of the new moon. Isa 66:23 (NASB20) “And it shall be from new moon to new moon And from Sabbath to Sabbath, All mankind will come to bow down before Me,” says the LORD. 1Sa 20:5 (NASB20) So David said to Jonathan, “Behold, tomorrow is the new moon, and I am obligated to sit down to eat with the king. But let me go so that I may hide myself in the field until the third evening. Summary: Go to YHVH perspective first. Get all examples, not just one. Also trace beliefs down to their roots.
Stop embarrassing yourself, Its first day through 7th day. And nowhere does Scripture teach to work 6-8 days till your next 7th day. I don't condemn anyone who keeps the man made lunar Sabbath.
@@Jeffmacaroni1542 Your right that scripture does not say to work 6-8 days. It clearly shows that 6 days are the max number of days that one works on their projects before they cease. YHVH says to work 6 days and cease on the seventh. YHVH also acknowledges a 3rd type of day called newmoon days (rosh chodesh) and he treats them like a day of ceasing. Buying and selling is prohibited on the sabbath and on the newmoon. (Amos 8:5) The doors to the temple were shut on the 6 work days but open on the Sabbath and open on the newmoon. (Ezekiel 46:1) So YHVH is saying through his prophets that there are: work days (days of work projects) sabbath days (cease from work projects) newmoon days (chodesh) The lunar sabbath isn't man-made. YHVH setup both the sun and the moon for telling holidays, days and years. (Gen 1:14-16)
Interestingly enough, Genesis 1:1 thru Gen 2:3 does not even mention months. Nor the number of months in a year. Nor the number of days in a month. Nor the number of days in a year. However YHVH does talk about the first month of the year to Moshe. (Exo 12:1-2) Aswell as YHVH says his holidays are on certain days of the month. (Lev 23) So therefore Genesis 1:1 thru Gen 2:3 is not an exhaustive list of time keeping. This makes me wonder if some of Genesis has been lost. However other parts of Scripture have a main thread/point and merely touch on facets of reality when they are pertinent to the main point. So this could be what is going on here.
While I don't follow a lunar Sabbath, the moon was given as one of the "signs" for appointed times/months and each month begins with a new moon, therefore it is my guess that the moon was created on day four already four days into its cycle.
The moon was created “in the beginning” (Gen. 1:1) as part of the heavens. It was made (appointed) on day four to give light upon the earth and for signs, seasons, etc. It makes the most sense for it to be in a four day old moon phase when it was appointed, similar to how Adam was a man in his prime when he was formed from the earth.
@@emjmnc Okay, but if it was "appointed on" day 4 to give light TO THE EARTH, that still means the moon wasn't visible to the earth until day 4... Putting the sabbath 3 days later... Still not mathin.
Also, I have met the 7,14, 21&28. We had same shabbat but they always had a double shabbat for the Feasts at unleavened and Sukkot. I never got the chance to hear them out totally. He married a Saturday keeper and went with her on it.
Lunar Sabbath is clearly pagan and a transgression of the Law described in Exodus 16:26, 16:29, 20:9-11, 23:12, 31:15, 31:17, 34:21, 35:2, Leviticus 23:3, Deuteronomy 5:13-14 and even Ezekiel 46:1. The problem is that people fall in love with false doctrines from fake writings such as the book of Jubilees and try to twist Scripture to fit their desires. As Paul said in 2 Timothy 4:3 "For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, *they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.* "
It is TOO BIG A COINCIDENCE that the moon changes its phases every seven days! There are 4 weeks in a month! It is just like clock work. They can not deny that God designated at least one day a New Moon Day. They use the lunar calendar as best they can to honor the festivals. So why not the weeks? After observing for so long now, we can tell what day of the moon it is 👍🏼. Funny how movies usually only use the full moon….

@@emjmnc Gen1:14 (LXX) the English "let there be" in Greek is ginomai -1096 gínomai - properly, to emerge, become, transitioning from one point (realm, condition) to another. 1096 (gínomai) fundamentally means "become" (becoming, became) so it is not an exact equivalent to the ordinary equative verb "to be" (is, was, will be) as with 1510 /eimí (1511 /eínai, 2258 /ēn). 1096 (ginomai) means "to become, and signifies a change of condition, state or place" (Vine, Unger, White, NT, 109). M. Vincent, "1096 (gínomai) means to come into being/manifestation implying motion, movement, or growth" (at 2 Pet 1:4). Thus it is used for God's actions as emerging from eternity and becoming (showing themselves) in time (physical space). It means what it says, which is that it became/emerged/to come into being.....in short it was created or moved to that location or to that function (or both) Either way, they didn't serve the roll of dividing day and night, signs, times, days or years etc... until they were either created on that day or moved to that location on that day. And it the same in Hebrew in verses 16 and 17 He 'made' them ans 'set' them. Made means just that and Set means a variety of things, such as- to give, put, place make, bestow, employ etc... So while someone may read it in such a way that the lights may have been made at a different time (day one perhaps) you would still have to concede that they were placed and given their function/duties on the 4th day. If they were created on a different day it never says what their function/duty were until they were placed in their location on the 4th. One would have to make an assumption on that point. However, if they were actually created and given their function/duty ON the 4th day then the light created on day one is not the lights of day 4. Which would seem to imply that the marking of the days of creation is not what it is often assumed to be. (sundown and sunup). What we do know is that there was a darkening and then a lightening each of the days of creation. I believe there is a bit more to the creation then we grasp... One day we will all know the truth of it all, and I can't wait for that day!!! :) Also....have you considered the equilux over the equinox when starting the year? Just something I'm looking into.

Brother Lex only used scripture to prove truth, you are explaining the lunar sabbath without any scripture that backs it, at all! I believe you love Yahuah and are not trying to decieve anyone however I say we go with what the Word teaches.
It's hard to understand because you never see these terms in scripture ( non day )(transition day) . We see only 7 days of creation in Genesis . To say the luminaries we're not created on day 4 when that's what the text says is also hard to swallow. Also all other calendar observations use a 7 day rotation and these days included the intercalary days there's no non days or days that don't account to the cycle. Also how long you have been observing anything does not solidify the perspective. We can see this from history. Brother Lex has some things he should work on also but this is the biggest issue with Hebrew Roots everyone wants to have more knowledge than the next , sometimes these deep dives into scripture turn into bad teachings they destroy decipleship and separate the people. We should always study and be malleable in our understanding. To call this understanding Pagan was out of line for sure , brother Lex has a few things we could call pagan in our perspective but why do that ? Does this help anyone ? I Love brother Matthew and his teachings I don't agree with his Sabbath observation but he is absolutely hands down working and fishing for the Most high , and is bringing people to the knowledge of the kingdom. Lex seems to be a bit puffed up lately in some of the perspectives he has put out but again he also a great brother and fishing for the same kingdom brother Matthew is , so the discourse between these ideas and public videos can hinder newcomers checking things out with the way we walk about obedience to Yah . I am a Lunar Sabbatarian, but I look at it from a different angle from most, if not all Lunar sabbatarians. I believe that those historians who say that Romans laid siege to Jerusalem on Saturdays because they knew that the Jews kept the Sabbath on Saturday are correct. Here is how I reconcile the Lunar Sabbath at that time.with Saturday. The Roman Republic Calendar was brought into "Judaea" before 60 BC. That Roman Republic Calendar, which I will now call RRC, was a luni-solar calendar beginning each month with the New Moon which they called "Calends", from the Greek word "kaleo", meaning to call because it was the time when the community would be called together to receive announcements of events and updates for the month. It is where we get out words "calendar" and "calendation". The weekdays were named as the Latin names for Sunday through Saturday. So Saturdays in the RRC in Judaea at the time of the Messiah would be on the 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th. According to the article I read in the Encyclopedia Britannica, the RRC was not only luni-solar, it had 29 and 30 day months. Although Julius Caesar commissioned the Egyptian astrologers to create the solar only Julian Calendar to be completed by about 42 BC, it was more likely that Judaea continued to use the RRC because it was in sync to their own calendar. Some people mistake the Roman Market Calendar with 8 day weeks with the RRC. The market place calendar was different from both the RRC and the Julian Calendar. This would answer how Palm Sunday would always be on the 9th day of the month (not the 10th). The 9th day of the RRC month would always be on a Sunday (Lat., Dies Solis). What caused Hilleyl II to change the Jewish Sabbath was when Constantine banned the RRC, and told Hilleyl II that if the Jews wanted to continue to keep the Sabbath, they had to do it on Julian Saturdays. That was the beginning of the Saturday Sabbath without regard for the Neww Moon. "Good Friday" was on Passover. Passover was on the 14th day from the New Moon in the Hebrew Calendar, the 14th from Calends in the RRC, which always landed on a Friday. Resurrection Sunday was always on the 16th of the month in the RRC.

How do you know the Feast days are kept according to the calendar the Jews use? Why isn't Tabernacles kept on the 15th of July? Where in SCRIPTURE does God's Calendar come from? Where does SCRIPTURE say God's Feasts are kept according to the Moon?

(Ezekiel 20:12)..... hallow My Sabbaths, and they will be a sign between Me and you, that you may know that I am the Lord your God.’ (Ezekiel 20:20).... The Moon keeps SIGNS (ot) and SEASONS (moedim). While Leviticus 23 is the scripture Jews use to claim ALL their Feasts are kept according to the Moon, the first FEAST listed is...... Sabbath.
One point not present in his discussion is the FACT you can look up at the position and phase of the moon to KNOW when Sabbath is. Why do you think God's moon has phases? Why do you think it is moving slower than the Sun? Why does scripture mention Moon days? There are 4 Sabbaths in every Lunar cycle....🌑 🌓 🌕 🌗

I heard this argument today about the moon being created on 4th day. I see that argument irrelevant seeing we were told WHEN to start observing with Abib and Law of Yah through Moses. Just because he may have created sun, moon and stars on 4th day as it says, doesn't mean we aren't to follow according to the commandments given to Moses correct? Not to mention Torah "light" was still created on 1st day and evening came then morning, the 1st day. He provided light and darkness for every single day and we were told when to start observing with Moses. My opinion. Be blessed brother!

In regards to the point brought up at 3:51 minute mark that even those who do not hold to a lunar sabbath don't keep the command to work 6 days and rest the 7th, let me just say this...some commands triumph others, for example we are to rest on the Shabbat however if our ox falls into a ditch obviously we work to get it out. This stands true for the Leviticus 23 feasts, if a High Shabbat falls on a weekday (Sunday-Friday) you REST on that day. The lunar sabbath reason for not working 6 days and resting on the 7th (the entire year- not just "most of the time") is completely different. It's because the calculations do not add up when using the moon for the weekly sabbath, and thus extra days pop up occasionally which disrupt the 6 day work/7th day rest cycle. The fact still stands that those who do not hold a lunar sabbatarian view and hold to the "Saturday-Sabbatarian" view, still always rest every 7 days, consistently, regardless of additional days at the end of the months or year. Perhaps (and this is just my speculation) the Father knew that the moon would be thrown off at some point in time and thus why he never commanded the weekly shabbat to be regulated by it. Torah Family does an excellent breakdown in their calendar teaching on the 364 vs 365 day year and how it could have potentially happened (during the flood, when the moon stood still, etc.). But in the end, even though none of us know the "perfect" calendar... we can still always know the weekly shabbat is to be observed every 7 days. With no "non-days" or "transitional days" in between.
Thanks, but how do you know if your keeping the 7th day if you don't know exactly where it started from? A 23 year old 11tth century hebrew philosopher Miamonas is attributed to calculating the year of creation , on which the entire hilill system used today is based off of. same guy was accused of being a heretic. But if the start was off or got changed at any point you would be off by days Forever. Point being you get your start date from some man. Yah gave us start dates in scripture. If your going to stick with a continual 7 days you need a starting point. The only starting point I see besides Genesis creation account which is Yahs week he gives no start date to man directly, is exodus 12 when the command was givin to obey the 1st month which would be done by observing the moon, also at that time, specific days were givin to be observed the first feast which sets the stage for what is to come. I'm not aware of any command directly until exodus for man to keep the sabbath, only that Yah rested. When the law was givin it was commanded. And the first feast in exodus 12 is when he gave man a set appointment time to start the months from and then appointed specific days for worship, remembreance, or observance.

This is one of the best defenses of lunar Sabbath that I have heard. My husband and I have followed the lunar-solar calendar for about 5 years. Some of these reasonings are new to us, but we shall make a note of them because they’re really good. I have one more defense that was not mentioned in this teaching. We understand that this is a response to Lex (by the way, we appreciate Lex very much and follow his channel), so you wouldn’t have a reason to mention it in this setting, but…the international date line. If it goes through the center of your town, you’d have Saturday Sabbath on two different dates depending upon which side of town you live on!
Following the sun and the moon, everyone within a geographical area celebrates the Sabbath together. We’re not following professional sports, but we’re familiar with spectators doing “the wave” around a stadium. Sabbath by the sun and the moon works just like the wave. The Sabbath flows like a wave across the earth in such a perfect way that there is no clear dividing line.
"To the law and the testimony..." Isaiah 8:20 "And as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day and stood up for to read". Luke 4:16 If the moon was involved in keeping the seventh day sabbath, there would have been almost endless contention about it among the Jews seeing it does not keep an ubroken perpetual cycle. They fought and argued about everything, but never about the moon. Even the apostate church of Rome could not argue against when the seventh day was. But, according to superstition and tradition, they do recognize a spiritual significance of the various times and appearances of it.
Everything in the Jewish religious economy held a perpetual unbroken chain of time and events as directed by God in the OT scriptures. This is also true when one compares Leviticus with the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation The sign of the everlasting covenant among God's remnant people has always been the 7th day sabbath, not a lunar sabbath. So, why make this change in worshiping the Creator and Redeemer God? It is prophesied in the NT that every wind of doctrine will be blowing in the last days right before the second coming. As Jesus admonished his people many times, especially in relation to the "time of the end" , "take heed lest any man deceive you."

I had to quit my job of over 20 years for health reasons, and during the ensuing 4 months of unemployment, I took the opportunity to switch to the lunar Sabbath after a fair amount of research. As I was living it, I continued that research, and found two main things that lunar sabbatarians couldn't really address:
1) Torah goes to great lengths when describing not just YHVH's laws, but also the exceptions to those laws. Nowhere in scripture could I find anything to describe how the 7-day weekly cycle was based specifically on the lunar phases, nor how they would be broken up by one or two days so that it could stay on track. You'd think that with the Sabbath being so important, every effort would've been made to explain its every intricacy. Anyone who says "but the Sabbath was forgotten" can read on to my second point...
2) We know that Messiah kept the same Sabbath as his countrymen. Historically, both church fathers and outside sources agree that the Jewish Sabbath corresponded with Saturday, with secular documentation in particular going back hundreds of years before Messiah's birth.

We shouldn’t point fingers at others for keeping a different one simply because we don’t keep that particular one because none of our calendars are 100% correct. Exodus 23:13 “And in all that I have said to you, be circumspect and make no mention of the name of other gods, nor let it be heard from your mouth.
Exodus 23 goes over the law of Sabbaths, three annual Feast days etc. What stood out to me is verse 13.
Circumspect is to be wary and unwilling to take risks. Saturday is named for the Roman god Saturn. I don't know about you, but I'll err on my Father's side and keep His calendar rather than use a god's name for His Sabbath day.
What do you mean, "none of our calendars are 100% correct"? Just because you dont know doesn't mean no one does. The Spirit is able to reveal truth.
Our faith comes from God through His faithful patriarchs and prophets of ancient Biblical times. None of them kept the Sabbath based upon the showing of the moon and no one can demonstrate that the seventh day of today is different than what has always been known throughout recorded human history as the seventh day. So, this keeping of the Sabbath day by each new moon is quite an enigma to me. "Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God". Romans 10:17

So many roads are coming out of Rome as the saying goes and we accept them as truths only to find in our search for truth that they are lies. God bless your ministry as many people are coming to the truths and have to look outside of mainstream Christianity to find it.
1) the issue is that the Sabbath, as instituted at creation, has nothing to do with the moon.
2) which ever , those transitional days or non days, do altered the weekly 7 days weekly sequence, instituted by God at creation... and the lunar sabbath falls in different days... sponsoring a wrong sabbath...
Shabbath the 7th day of the weekly 7 days cycle...as such instituted.
Weekly 7 days Cycles, started from the 1st day to the 7th day as the day of rest...to do otherwise is an error...
Only the yearly Sabbaths/ feasts were intituted as lunar cycles...

Problem with 2:30, 6 days you work, 7th day is the Sabbath, there is no 2 day Sabbath
I was raised in the Baptist church and started keeping the Sabbath from Friday evening to Saturday evening the last 3 years or so. Didn't realize how much disagreement there is in keeping it. I try to go strictly by scripture. I do not keep the feasts as the scripture states we can only keep the feasts while in Isreal or Jerusalem. There is so much confusion going on with the Church these days. I pray Yeshua opens all our eyes to the truth.
To say there is "much confusion" among believers is an understatement, but we should not try and let these disagreements, which will be cleared up when Yahshua returns, divide us. We (along with a growing number) celebrate the day beginning in the morning (See Genesis) and sometimes when we visit brethren, we will honor their reckoning and our own. We've even celebrated two Passovers with some on a totally different calendar.
What's important is that YOU are honoring Yahweh in your discernment and study in keeping His Appointed Times.

@@2besavedcom-7 You're not supposed to make replacement ceremonies. Passover is a sacrifice, not a Holiday. It's the Passover Sacrifice that's generally eaten on the first night of Unleavened bread. Creating replacement ceremonies for the pilgrimage feasts is an abomination to Yah.

I am relatively new to this concept of the lunar Sabbath...less than four years actually. Where do you guys find work where this isn't an issue? We are not financially independent...but desire to do this consistantly together as a family (so far we have been split lunar sabbatarians because of work) Any advice is much appreciated.

I am first and foremost a Christian, and I'm also an academic-- I am not a Sabbatharian. But I do know that the calendar was kept in ancient Israel. At this point, I find that it is just assumed in academia. So when I see this raging debate, I tend to feel sorry for how cut down you guys are. Light on day 1 is NOT the luminaries. It was called "aether" for a long time until the godless men tried to redefine light.

Shalom Matthew, naming a "Non Day" as "Transition Day" or "extended honeymoon" day doesn't change or disprove anything Lex was saying, the problem still stands. Which is that you can't keep the Torah command of working a consistent 6 days then rest.
Every calendar has additional days whether at the end of months, or at the end of the year, or even adding a 13th month, however non of those additional days change the fact that you can still work 6 consistent days and rest the 7th, in other words it doesn't disrupt the torah command of Sabbath (work 6 and rest on 7th) the only doctrine that disrupts the command of work 6, rest on 7th for shabbat is the lunar sabbath.
In other words, in love, the only belief in which these additional days become an issue in regards to the shabbat is the lunar sabbath, any other calendar with additional days or months is still able to keep the torah command of work 6 days and rest on 7th...so whoever is right has to be able to keep that rule, which eliminates lunar Sabbatarians.

At this time I'm going to do what Yashua did. And as best I can tell He kept the same day that the Jews kept. And as best I know that repeating 7th day hasn't changed since.

Sabbath - every 7 days. It’s as easy as that, anyone can do it. It’s not some mystery moon calendar calculation that does not equal every seven days. It’s good to point out false doctrine and lunar sabbath is one of those. Yah made it simple - lunar sabbath makes it hard.
Days are countable on their own. Months are countable by the moon.
You get 7th day Sabbath by reading scripture. You get lunar sabbath by someone telling you about it - there’s your sign.
Didn't people say the same to you when you came to knowledge about Torah? Didn't they assume you heard it from someone on UA-cam? They didn't understand that the scriptures spoke for themselves, they couldn't SEE it, even though you could. Isn't it possible that #1 people other than yourself may see something IN SCRIPTURE that you may not see yet. #2 That YHWH made a way for us to recognize His Sabbaths in His CREATION?
Also, actually Lunar Sabbath is so easy a child can do it. 2 OPPOSING calendars cross crossing thru the months is confusing. I've done both, and Lunar is WAY easier.

The Zadok calendar is the simplest calendar. I am amazed at how it all works out with out going crazy. I made one of those peg board calendar and it’s amazing,you don’t need the internet to know what time it is. If you are keeping the Zadok calendar and would like to make one of these peg board calendars that was used way back when. You can find more on this on the channel Hanging On His Words. There have been various calendars to keep track of times and seasons throughout history, but God set His seven day weekly cycle apart from them in an unbroken sign of a pertetual covenant, the "everlasting covenant". This identifies who we are in relationship to him.
The evidences given for the lunar sabbath are mostly based on conjectures, speculations, and theories about the new moons and their relationship to the scriptures and the Sabbath. How could God expect His children to be faithful to anything other than a plain and simple, "thus saith the Lord"?

Thank you for this video. I believe whole hearted on the lunar sabbath due to certain verses like Genesis how the luminaries we're created to count days keep track of time. I saw Lex's video before this searching for more understanding on this subject and almost for second doubted my thoughts on lunar sabbath. My question is how is it possible to be faithful to the lunar sabbath when living according to the julian/ gregorian calendar? On some months the sabbath lands on a Wednesday or in another month on a Thursday and it cycles through the days on every month throughout the year with the exception of 3 or 4 months where it would land on frinday, Saturday which would give me a chance to observe it since I do not work on those days?

Where was the moon during Creation Week?
The moon was never given by God to determine the sabbath. The moon determines the the month , the sun determines the season's of the year. 6 days shall you work , the sabbath is number 7 . Then repeat. It's not hard. God did not give us non days. A new moon can fall on any day. The sabbath day can only fall on the 7th. Day. Do you know the difference between a sabbath and a weekly sabbath? They are not the same.

I have been asked, "How do you KNOW that lunar Sabbath keeping isn't worshipping the moon?"..... My answer..... If YHWH tells you His Moedim are kept and appointed by the moon, then I am not worshipping the moon, I am worshipping YHWH in obedience. Moon worship would be using the moon for something OTHER than what He made it for.

What is the Equilux?
I did consider it back in the late 2000’s, but I didn’t ever adopt that view after studying how ancient civilizations tracked the path of the sun and built monuments to help them know the days we call equinoxes.
@@Mikha335 it's close to the Equinox in date but different in what it measures. The Equilux is the time when there is actually (more or less) 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of night. The Equinox is measured at the equator and there is no equal times. But they say it offers a single measuring point that is the same no mater where you are on Earth (however, the time you actually observe it IS different, for example if the Equinox is seen by you at 3pm it would be seen by someone else in a different location at 5pm etc, etc.) Does that help?
@@emjmnc I'm looking into that too. It seems odd that that would be a starting point for multiple peoples as the time it is actually observed differs depending on where you live. Just like the Equilux differs depending on where you live. The real difference it seems is that the Equilux actually has even light and darkness....still looking into it. I'm not sure that I will trust in what all the other people did...scripture seems to say over and over again that what they do/did is wrong.
We tried calculating by equal-day/equal-night, but we ran into a huge problem because geographically it’s so impossible. Everyplace in the world has a different date for the equilux, and the differences are so great it’s impossible to reconcile. It seems like a good idea according to Enoch, but when you actually do the calculations, it seems like the only way it could possibly work is if we all lived in Jerusalem.
Is not the light what God calls day? And is not the sun the greater light that rules the day?
First of all New Moon is never called to being a DAY in the bible coz in the beginning in Genesis 1:2 "the darkness was on the face of the deep" thats the New Moon and God defined DAY being the LIGHT so if the darkness covered everything in Genesis 1:2 where is the DAY where is the LIGHT? New Moon is called New Moon and not New Moon DAY. So when God said "Let there be light" God worked and counted that calendar date to be the first DAY of the week coz obviously there was now a LIGHT to be called it a DAY.
I think there is a lot good points regarding the lunar Sabbath, however I think the weekly seven day cycle must remain unbroken. If there was a way for the Lunar Sabbath to sync with a continual seven day cycle that would be the truth.

The devil dislikes the 7th day Sabbath so much he has people believing anything including a lunar Sabbath. The early church kept the feasts and the 7th day weekly Sabbath on Saturday,That's how it's suppose to be. The weekly Sabbath started on the 7th day of creation. And it comes around every 7 days. It has nothing to do with the moon.

Indeed sir... I've just recently began walking this lunar shabbat path. It seems that no one on earth can prove that saturday sabbath is the original sabbath set up by Yah'uwah in the very beginning. I do not know about everyone, but I've been having 4 shabbat for each ka'dash (moon/month). And I've used the she'mash (sun) for the new year in correlation with the seasons. But I'm open to learning and being corrected. But on top of that, without paper calendars and electronic devices, how would we survive?!!
There is no way anyone can prove that Satu*day was the original Sabbath other than the simple fact that Yahshua and all the disciples and apostles celebrated all the same Sabbaths and Appointed Times as everyone else at the time and made no issue about it.
This is only one of the major flaws I perceive in the Lunar Sabbath.
Other than that, I agree that the month begins at the first sliver and the new year begins on the first new moon after the equinox, so these are things you'll need to start observing for yourself without electronic devices.
You can be sure that 99% of the time the equinox is on the 20th March (Roman calendar) or you can physically count it (number your days - Psa 90:12) and keep watch on the moon.

The scriptures says to work 6 days and rest on the seventh.
Therefore we must count 6 days of work and rest on the next day which is the seventh day.

I cover that in the video; for the same reason Saturday Sabbatarians go *less* than 6 work days between Sabbaths multiple times a year. The “work 6 rest the 7th” is the general rule. We do that exactly about 47 weeks a year.
@@emjmnc There's no GENERAL RULE. It's a COMMAND to rest the 7th day. Saturday sabbath keepers count high sabbaths for feasts as separate sabbath occasions IN ADDITION to the standard weekly sabbath.
Brother Matthew. Ive often wondered. Why is it that some seem to see and others do not. Lunar Sabbath, unitarianism, the law, second death, ect. Though I certianly do not think those who don't believe these doctrins are not important to the creator I just wonder why? Is it something in us that causes yah to be able to make us see? And why isn't he causing others to see? Is it just not time yet? I know yah has been very patient with me so I understand the need to be patient with others. What are your thoughts?

Me too, I pray often to have eyes to see and ears to hear. Also to not be deceived. I too, am aware how some people SEE something while others don't. But on the other hand, how many of us brought leftovers from our Christianity into Torah? I think this process we are in is where YHWH is cutting off things that are untrue, solidifying truth we know, and teaching truth we NEVER had that seems foreign to us. I came from mormonism so eventhough I can with the disadvantage of being very unfamiliar with the Bible I feel advantaged in that I had to rework every single point of doctrine . I discovered a lot about the Bible alot about me and alot about truth. I certify didn't deserve the creators good graces but for what ever reason he decided I was worth it. I did ask and let him know I was wiling to give up everything I thought I knew to know the truth. And slowly and surely he dismantled all the false teachings and revealed the truth. But to be honest my biggest hang up my whole life was that I didn't trust his word. Once what he said became more true to me than any ideaology then it was really quite simple. But I still wonder how yah does it. Because it's really quite supernatural.

To me, it's rather compelling evidence to add to all the rest that the Sabbath has always been an unbroken cycle of sevens since creation. The Hebrew word "shabbat" is etymologically linked to "sheva" the Hebrew word for seven along with numerous other observances in the Torah.

I personally find all of this confusing. I've been using My House Ministry's calendar. I don't have enough time to search it out and I'm the only adult in my family that thinks it matters very much......I'm just tired..... trying to hang on. Haven't had too good of a day....Or week......I do love Brother Matthew's humble kind spirit.
It matters. All truth matters. But mercy, charity, and humility matter too. Yeshua (our example) was obedient in all things but always stressed the weightier points of the Law.

The problem alot of people have is that they look from their own perspective and assume that the roman calendar with it's names of the days (pagen god's names) are from the beginning of mankind being on this planet.
One can either trace what they believe is true, down to it's roots.
Or look from the hebrew's perspective at what they did.
Or simply look from YHVH perspective at what he has said in regards to all the different examples of time keeping.
(not just one example, but all of them so you get a more complete picture)

Summary:
Go to YHVH perspective first.
Get all examples, not just one.
Also trace beliefs down to their roots.
Stop embarrassing yourself, Its first day through 7th day. And nowhere does Scripture teach to work 6-8 days till your next 7th day. I don't condemn anyone who keeps the man made lunar Sabbath.

Your right that scripture does not say to work 6-8 days.
It clearly shows that 6 days are the max number of days that one works on their projects before they cease.
YHVH says to work 6 days and cease on the seventh.
YHVH also acknowledges a 3rd type of day called newmoon days (rosh chodesh) and he treats them like a day of ceasing.
Buying and selling is prohibited on the sabbath and on the newmoon. (Amos 8:5)
The doors to the temple were shut on the 6 work days but open on the Sabbath and open on the newmoon. (Ezekiel 46:1)
So YHVH is saying through his prophets that there are:
work days (days of work projects)
sabbath days (cease from work projects)
newmoon days (chodesh)
The lunar sabbath isn't man-made.
YHVH setup both the sun and the moon for telling holidays, days and years. (Gen 1:14-16)
Interestingly enough, Genesis 1:1 thru Gen 2:3 does not even mention months.
Nor the number of months in a year.
Nor the number of days in a month.
Nor the number of days in a year.
However YHVH does talk about the first month of the year to Moshe. (Exo 12:1-2)
Aswell as YHVH says his holidays are on certain days of the month. (Lev 23)
So therefore Genesis 1:1 thru Gen 2:3 is not an exhaustive list of time keeping.
This makes me wonder if some of Genesis has been lost.
However other parts of Scripture have a main thread/point and merely touch on facets of reality when they are pertinent to the main point.
So this could be what is going on here.

Was the creation of the moon ,a new moon?
While I don't follow a lunar Sabbath, the moon was given as one of the "signs" for appointed times/months and each month begins with a new moon, therefore it is my guess that the moon was created on day four already four days into its cycle.
If the moon was created on day 4, the sabbath would have been 3 days from the new moon, not 7.
The moon was created “in the beginning” (Gen. 1:1) as part of the heavens. It was made (appointed) on day four to give light upon the earth and for signs, seasons, etc. It makes the most sense for it to be in a four day old moon phase when it was appointed, similar to how Adam was a man in his prime when he was formed from the earth.

Also, I have met the 7,14, 21&28. We had same shabbat but they always had a double shabbat for the Feasts at unleavened and Sukkot. I never got the chance to hear them out totally. He married a Saturday keeper and went with her on it.
Lunar Sabbath is clearly pagan and a transgression of the Law described in Exodus 16:26, 16:29, 20:9-11, 23:12, 31:15, 31:17, 34:21, 35:2, Leviticus 23:3, Deuteronomy 5:13-14 and even Ezekiel 46:1.
The problem is that people fall in love with false doctrines from fake writings such as the book of Jubilees and try to twist Scripture to fit their desires.

It is TOO BIG A COINCIDENCE that the moon changes its phases every seven days! There are 4 weeks in a month! It is just like clock work. They can not deny that God designated at least one day a New Moon Day. They use the lunar calendar as best they can to honor the festivals. So why not the weeks? After observing for so long now, we can tell what day of the moon it is 👍🏼. Funny how movies usually only use the full moon….

M. Vincent, "1096 (gínomai) means to come into being/manifestation implying motion, movement, or growth" (at 2 Pet 1:4). Thus it is used for God's actions as emerging from eternity and becoming (showing themselves) in time (physical space).
It means what it says, which is that it became/emerged/to come into being.....in short it was created or moved to that location or to that function (or both) Either way, they didn't serve the roll of dividing day and night, signs, times, days or years etc... until they were either created on that day or moved to that location on that day.
And it the same in Hebrew in verses 16 and 17 He 'made' them ans 'set' them. Made means just that and Set means a variety of things, such as- to give, put, place make, bestow, employ etc...
So while someone may read it in such a way that the lights may have been made at a different time (day one perhaps) you would still have to concede that they were placed and given their function/duties on the 4th day. If they were created on a different day it never says what their function/duty were until they were placed in their location on the 4th. One would have to make an assumption on that point. However, if they were actually created and given their function/duty ON the 4th day then the light created on day one is not the lights of day 4. Which would seem to imply that the marking of the days of creation is not what it is often assumed to be. (sundown and sunup). What we do know is that there was a darkening and then a lightening each of the days of creation. I believe there is a bit more to the creation then we grasp... One day we will all know the truth of it all, and I can't wait for that day!!! :) Also....have you considered the equilux over the equinox when starting the year? Just something I'm looking into.

Brother Lex only used scripture to prove truth, you are explaining the lunar sabbath without any scripture that backs it, at all! I believe you love Yahuah and are not trying to decieve anyone however I say we go with what the Word teaches.
It's hard to understand because you never see these terms in scripture ( non day )(transition day) . We see only 7 days of creation in Genesis .
To say the luminaries we're not created on day 4 when that's what the text says is also hard to swallow.
Also all other calendar observations use a 7 day rotation and these days included the intercalary days there's no non days or days that don't account to the cycle. Also how long you have been observing anything does not solidify the perspective. We can see this from history. Brother Lex has some things he should work on also but this is the biggest issue with Hebrew Roots everyone wants to have more knowledge than the next , sometimes these deep dives into scripture turn into bad teachings they destroy decipleship and separate the people. We should always study and be malleable in our understanding. To call this understanding Pagan was out of line for sure , brother Lex has a few things we could call pagan in our perspective but why do that ? Does this help anyone ? I Love brother Matthew and his teachings I don't agree with his Sabbath observation but he is absolutely hands down working and fishing for the Most high , and is bringing people to the knowledge of the kingdom. I am a Lunar Sabbatarian, but I look at it from a different angle from most, if not all Lunar sabbatarians. I believe that those historians who say that Romans laid siege to Jerusalem on Saturdays because they knew that the Jews kept the Sabbath on Saturday are correct. Here is how I reconcile the Lunar Sabbath at that time.with Saturday. The Roman Republic Calendar was brought into "Judaea" before 60 BC. That Roman Republic Calendar, which I will now call RRC, was a luni-solar calendar beginning each month with the New Moon which they called "Calends", from the Greek word "kaleo", meaning to call because it was the time when the community would be called together to receive announcements of events and updates for the month. It is where we get out words "calendar" and "calendation". The weekdays were named as the Latin names for Sunday through Saturday. So Saturdays in the RRC in Judaea at the time of the Messiah would be on the 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th. According to the article I read in the Encyclopedia Britannica, the RRC was not only luni-solar, it had 29 and 30 day months. Although Julius Caesar commissioned the Egyptian astrologers to create the solar only Julian Calendar to be completed by about 42 BC, it was more likely that Judaea continued to use the RRC because it was in sync to their own calendar. Some people mistake the Roman Market Calendar with 8 day weeks with the RRC. The market place calendar was different from both the RRC and the Julian Calendar. This would answer how Palm Sunday would always be on the 9th day of the month (not the 10th). The 9th day of the RRC month would always be on a Sunday (Lat., Dies Solis). What caused Hilleyl II to change the Jewish Sabbath was when Constantine banned the RRC, and told Hilleyl II that if the Jews wanted to continue to keep the Sabbath, they had to do it on Julian Saturdays. That was the beginning of the Saturday Sabbath without regard for the Neww Moon. "Good Friday" was on Passover. Passover was on the 14th day from the New Moon in the Hebrew Calendar, the 14th from Calends in the RRC, which always landed on a Friday. Resurrection Sunday was always on the 16th of the month in the RRC.

How do you know the Feast days are kept according to the calendar the Jews use? Why isn't Tabernacles kept on the 15th of July? Where in SCRIPTURE does God's Calendar come from? Where does SCRIPTURE say God's Feasts are kept according to the Moon?

The Moon keeps SIGNS (ot) and SEASONS (moedim). While Leviticus 23 is the scripture Jews use to claim ALL their Feasts are kept according to the Moon, the first FEAST listed is...... Sabbath.
One point not present in his discussion is the FACT you can look up at the position and phase of the moon to KNOW when Sabbath is. Why do you think God's moon has phases? I heard this argument today about the moon being created on 4th day. I see that argument irrelevant seeing we were told WHEN to start observing with Abib and Law of Yah through Moses. Just because he may have created sun, moon and stars on 4th day as it says, doesn't mean we aren't to follow according to the commandments given to Moses correct?
Not to mention Torah "light" was still created on 1st day and evening came then morning, the 1st day. He provided light and darkness for every single day and we were told when to start observing with Moses. My opinion. Be blessed brother!
