  • When G-d sent venomous snakes to bite the Israelites as punishment, He commanded Moses to make an image of a 'fiery serpent'...and whoever had been bitten, would look upon this image and be healed. How did seeing this image bring about healing - and what is the Torah's lesson for us today?
    The Torah portion of Korach (Numbers 16 : 1 - 18 : 32) is read outside the Land of Israel on Shabbat, Tammuz 3, 5782 - July 2, 2022
    The Torah portion of Chukat (Numbers 19 : 1 - 21 : 35) is read in the Land of Israel on Shabbat, Tammuz 3, 5782 - July 2, 2022

“Focusing on the image of the snake after being bitten by one while the very same thing is causing all the casualties around me”
The bites did not stop 😮
    I heard it this way
Everything is from HaShem and even when the things we perceive to be bad are happening it is still from HaShem and we are to still focus on HaShem

Very interesting insight , thanks . I was wondering why would the W.H.O use the snake on a pole as its symbol ? . The world only needs to look to Hashem for true healing .

Wonderful! Todah Rabah! This relates to homeopathy and also to the placebo effect and also faith healers. It is interesting that snake venom of the kait and cobra are used to create the vaccines.

Yes, I believe that the "placebo effect" has a LOT to do with "homeopathic remedies", since there's next to NO natural ingredients or anything else that would cause healing, in them! Same applies to "faith healers".

Eating healthy nutrient dense organic foods, builds up our Immune System, then there is no need for pharmaceuticals.
Also, adding naturopathic Supplements, is the way to go!

      angelamcentee,
*This is not the place for your GrecoRoman idolatry* ✝️🤮
*Either learn from our Rabbi, Torah Judaism* ✡️ *or return to your people, like Orpah did* *whilst Ruth clung to her Jewish mother-in-law, and joined the Jewish people*

I had always supposed the snake was made out of copper because of the fiery color especially when struck by the sun.

The Greek bible is irrelevant. It is not the word of Hashem.

The copper snake pre-shadows the coming of Christ to die for our sins. Those who look upon him and accept his sacrifice will be saved.
