I came to witchcraft through Wicca, and took a course on it online which was a great start for me but then found the community here on YT. Im not wiccan but I really dont feel comfortable doing hexes and curses, BUT, there were a couple of times when my daughter was being hurt by a man and when someone was doing things against me when I performed some spells to stop these things from happening. I have no regrets. I think thats whats so important, to know yourself and talk to your guides about it. Then do as you will. I got no reprocussions to my knowledge. Thanks for all you do here, love your channel! Blessed be.
I admit I used to strictly follow the Wiccan Rede until I realized not everything is as black and white as I thought it was. After that I shifted my own code to instead fit my workings to the situation. If I need baneful, I will absolutely use baneful if it meets justification and not just because someone made me angry. If I need beneficial or healing, I will use beneficial and healing but not because I am unwilling to take mundane steps too.
This was such a great video! I personally feel for myself that there is a time and place for all kind of magick and spell work. I also think who am I to say what is right or wrong for other people to do. I love your videos and your content. You're so intelligent and your content really makes me think and see things from other perspectives and inspires me to higher thinking and learning ✨️
I love your new intro!! Also, I LOVE discussing this topic. It was great to hear your perspective I am definitely going to check out those books you recommended. ❤️
You make a great point about the use of a job application spell. My own practice is commercial, and I often get clients who want to elevate their financial success- either through a new job, career advancement or by drawing clients to their business. I try to prevent the spreading of unnecessary misery whenever I do spells for clients- and I have a strictly no curse/hex policy- as I feel magic is intended for the betterment of the world. Ultimately though, I have found that there is a limit to how much I can limit the negative consequences for other people. I tend to add a sub aspect to these spells to encourage those who were disadvantaged by it to find a positive outcome- but at the end of the day it is more of a ' it would be nice' than a necessity. That said, Ideals and ethics are an important aspect of all crafts, and so long as one tries to make the honest effort to do as little harm as possible- I feel that is sufficient. One cannot reasonably be expected to calculate generational consequences for doing a minor prosperity spell, after all. So far as free will goes, I would place myself in the camp between the absolutist- which is something of an absurdity tbh- and the determinist. We are born into situations, where we have degrees of potential variance that we can influence. One can choose to defy their nature for example- but that does not erase the inclination towards favoring that path. In the same regard, potential is not written in stone as a must. People often refuse to meet their potential, just as they refuse to accept their limits when it doesn't suit them.
Loved hearing your perspectives on this topic! I have a bit of a side note regarding race and growing up with a western perspective. I’m a multiracial light skin black woman living in Canada, and while I’ve been learning so much about magical practices and finding out what works for me and what doesn’t resonate, I’m having a hard time finding my footing. I’m struggling to find resources from black content creators that aren’t either the same info I’m hearing from white witches and practitioners, or are from closed practices which I have no connection to in my real life. Any advice on where to look would be greatly appreciated✨🤍
Hello im new to your channel😊 been studying and practicing witchcraft and magic in general for years now . your videos are informative and helpful . Im looking forward to learning new things from you 🙏😊
Ahhhhhh South and North Carolina are my " happy places " when I need to escape from the "concrete jungle " that is NYC. The Carolinas are just beautiful. Lucky you !!! 💙💙💙
If I initially agree to have a "job" done and then decide, after it started, to not continue or complete the process, but the practitioner insists on completing the "job". Can that not be going against my free will?
I live in Arizona so I get the struggle with the heat. I see magick as influencing as well. I don't believe in 100% free will as well. I live with my parents and my Dad is my abuser and I've had people ask me to curse or hex my Dad and I said "Thank you for asking, I like where your heads at but No" and I say no because I live with him, his hardships are my hardships, things that happen to him effect me as well.
@@dylanmagoiofthethalasso4032 I’m so sorry this has happened to you. Would you consider using a binding spell against your abuser? Just to bind/stop his abusive actions/behaviour. Not a hex or curse. It would interfere with his freewill but this would be totally justifiable
Great video, very balanced. I think that every working should be judged in context of situation. When it comes to love spells it depends what kind of love spell we are talking about. Is it glamour spell? Is it something that will magnify feelings that are already there? Or is it obsession spell put on somebody who straight up told you no? When it comes to curses my perspective is to look at it like on violence. Violence is generally bad and should be avoided(not to mention that it's illegal). But in defence it's ok to use all means nescessary. When it comes to non-consensual magic it's nuanced - I'll say that it's best to compare it to analogous situation in mundane world. When it's defence, everything goes. You won't be asking someone who hurts you if you can hit them back, right? If it's suprise gift for someone it's better to make sure that person can opt out (it's generally better to put spell on the item than on person anyway - it has less backfire chance that way). If it's on minor, get parent/legal guardian permission etc.
In prayer doesn't the same thing happen? If I pray for a job or a certain lover and I believe I have it already (as it says in the Christian Bible) then is that not the same thing as a spell or magic???
I try to follow the Wiccan Rede but I came to realise a long time ago, there is no black and white - everything is just a cornucopia of shades of grey. I think we all have a responsibility to practice for good, but our actions will have an impact on some people ( like in your job magic example ), so one must consider others and think things through before proceeding. We have a responsibility to care for those around us. I just keep seeing those shades of grey though. If the work will benefit you and yours, then go ahead. Just be aware of how the outcome will affect the subject. Blessings and stay safe and well.

All the gems being dropped in this video! *takes notes*
great video, i think you hit the nail on the head, good and evil is much more nuanced than just "this is okay and this isn't"

I always enjoy talking about hot topics. I'm going to check out those books as well.

I think the line in the sand is setting an intention for yourself versus manipulating someone else's decision making...
