Colonel, personally I feel this is your most interesting game and series in years. I mean, we love Transport Fever, naturally but this... this is a train game on a whole new level.
For a moment I thought you were going to build a tram line from Alaska to Peru. But then I realized that would be crazy, and you'd never do anything like that. Just imagine the travel times..
5:00 has huge long perfect avenues with trees and empty area between two highways to place tram stops in. Plonks down on five rooftops instead. Okay then. 16:00 What is that stop called? Primary School of the Revolution? Wholesome!
Colonel, did you try Freight Yard Manager, or FYM for short? It's a multiplayer train dispatching game where each player controls certain yards and all the trains you see are player dispatched. Pretty darn fun, and I think it deserves some noise, and it's free to boot :) . It is based on real world maps and uses the real world USA railroad, so it popped up in me mind when I seen this one. Should get back into that...
I think maybe the trick to this would be if the devs gave you two catchment areas. Short range passengers who only are looking to travel a very short distance, like within the city, and long range passengers who are traveling city to city. The longer range passengers should have a much bigger catchment area. For example, i wouldn’t drive 10 miles to hop on a train to go 12 miles across the city. But i would drive all the way across the city to hop on a train heading to the next city over.
Can't tell you how happy I am to basically immediately see this turned into a series. Since, frustratingly, I can't play this myself yet. God damn release dates in the future for stuff I like!
This is a very nice game, you know that where real life tracks are the game devs have left a space so if you wish to follow the realistic locations track building is easy thus you don’t end up crow flying over a thousand roads
The mangling of the place names is pretty funny in general but the way he pronounced Albuquerque almost made me spit out my drink. Now I know how I sound when I try to say some of the names of places in Great Britain.
I am the guy who plays with infinite money on these games. It is the superior way! haha. I do it because I don't want or care about the "game" aspect "challenge" only the sandbox for my imagination to be free to do literally whatever I wanted to do. If I don't turn on unlimited cash, I just find a console command, cheat code or mod that'll allow me to cheat myself a certain level of money whenever I need it, in order to not allow myself to go bankrupt. And in this game, it'd be a literally city & transit planning tool for me, which I find excessively fun & I have a strong passion for. All the more reason to use IM.
I just started playing this game yesterday, and I'm planning a trans-European railway from Moscow to Lisbon :D However, I have the money turned off, so it's a bit easier.
Ushuaia. Try “Oosh-WHY-a”, which is in Argentina. Don’t miss out on Peru this ugh. See if yo can find it with both hands on a map! Could be an epic series. If it happens.
Lock-up is coming to France: glad you embarked on such a titanic task; I've go nothing to do before July. Will buy a few spare keyboards: F5 key is being molested ATM.
Yeah, this one is strangely compelling. Not much to look at... except that it is. I guess when you start looking at the whole world map, the possibilities kinda get the gears turning. I think that's why I like it, anyway.
You would turn the money off, so that you could rebuild existing or former lines. Then when you have London Underground, for instance, complete you would turn on the money and see if you could lose as much money as the real thing. Or improve it.
even though it ends with an 'E', Spokane is pronounced spoe-can.... just an FYI... also if you google earth it... there are many trains there.. =D It was a hub for the area during the 1900's.
East branch meeting in Seattle? Seattle is on the West Coast. Having the brach go there would mean traveling through tons of less inhabited places. I suggest going through Boston, up to Quebec, down through Ontario, back to the US in Chicago, then back to Canada to Vancouver
@@allaboutthegyro Technically the Pan Am highway in the US is unofficial and the unofficial routes kinda go up the middle rather than up the populated coasts. If you want an Eastern route that actually goes through the populate areas, you're not gonna want it to connect in Seattle.
At 1:35, upper right hand corner, east of Plazas de Aragon. Random Star of David canal? That doesn't appear on google maps. Satellite image just shows it being a big empty field. Not being anti-semitic or anything nasty like that, it just piqued my curiosity.
I would guess that infinite money is usually put in by developers pretty early on for testing. And since it's there, why not let the folks who just want to do a model network with minimal challenges have the option. I mean, it's a low effort feature to implement, just needs a toggle in the UI, and bob's your uncle, right?
Imagine if TpF3 would use this zoomable world map as a selection tool to make your own map. Just select a rectangle shape anywhere and click Build. Now I'd buy that!...

Don't stop playing! I am still watching! Love this series
Last time I was this early NIMBY Rails didn’t even exist
Glad to see this get a series run. Consider my like flung!
Why not switch trains off at night?

YES! What happened to “I’m not playing this again!” 😜🥳
glad he failed!
its like aurora 4x after you get defeated for the 67th time
I asked politely for more.
10 k views happened.
I wish this game was out now so I could go home from work and play tonight for many hours
Early access is out 😄
“This _might_ take longer than three episodes…”
It better!

I'm excited to see how this series develops! I can't wait to get NIMBY when it releases on Monday too
Same here. It'll be like a early BDay present for myself haha. This is the kind of game I've been wanting & dreaming of for most of my life now.
You keep making it, we'll keep watching it.
'round and 'round we go...
A grand, ambitious project? That's bound to go wrong? Brilliant.
Joy! Joy! And thrice Joy! ;o)
At around 9:00, to move your tram station you want to click the yellow circles at the end of the platform tracks :p
Let's see the final result in a year's time, when you've finished the project!
"From Paris to Berlin and every Disco I pull in, I'm choo-chooing for love...."
Also, 9 minutes to bulldozer, thats the longest ever isn't it?
Ushuaia in Peru? Just what we need right now, Falklands War 2, Electric Boogaloo!
Apparently the Colonel's Geography knowledge resides in his buttocks area...
So glad you picked this up as a series. I'll certainly be watching for the duration!
I'll watch it. Its like all Train Fever / Transport Fever series(ssess) in at once. :)

Really love the look of this game and that's a really sweet mega project to be working on. Looking forward to see more of this
That main Mexico City station is going to have quite a hum to it since it's plonked down right next to the giant spiral sewage plant 🤣

If we get that far I'm looking forward to how it handles crossing the Panama Canal and through the Darien Gap.

Yay theres a series of NIMBY rails :D
How expensive is a train line from California to Hawaii?
Tremendously affordable. Especially when CF is the architect. No cost overruns expected.
Definitely keep playing this, make sure to get Wisconsin usa some high speed rail
And run it through Wausau, and the middle school
Wow. Well that's ambition!!!
I just started playing this game yesterday, and I'm planning a trans-European railway from Moscow to Lisbon :D However, I have the money turned off, so it's a bit easier.
Not exactly the Snowpiercer line I requested, but, if you do manage to complete it, I'll take it 😆
RIP American Railroads
Flinging a coin in the algorithm here. Hopefully nothing breaks.
I have an amazing idea. Make it a tram to there and back. Also have a branch line to northern England lol
Ushuaia. Try “Oosh-WHY-a”, which is in Argentina. Don’t miss out on Peru this ugh. See if yo can find it with both hands on a map!

Really enjoying this series so far, but will there still be a new transport fever 2 series?
I like this game :). I will definitely play with infinite money at first, and maybe just create this route for the heck of it.
You better build a line to Portland Oregon!
I may have to snap this one up!
Does this accurately model the Darien gap?
Yeah, this one is strangely compelling. Not much to look at... except that it is. I guess when you start looking at the whole world map, the possibilities kinda get the gears turning. I think that's why I like it, anyway.
US has an excellent rail network. It's just not for passengers.
It's also shrinking, last I looked.
where does the map come from?
Keep going!

Is there a plan to incorporate freight?

Yep I’m in for some more
Next line has got to be London to Sydney.

'fraid not friend, your Spo-KAN is missing an E.
@@colonelfailure Really now. what I'm saying is the correct Pronunciation of "Spokane".
Spo-kan = "Children of the sun".

Hopefully you give this all your Heart and Soul and the China in Your Hand stays in one piece 😉😂
Might consider a double US branch: west branch through the known cities, east branch as alluded to in video, meeting in Seattle.
East branch meeting in Seattle? Seattle is on the West Coast. Having the brach go there would mean traveling through tons of less inhabited places. I suggest going through Boston, up to Quebec, down through Ontario, back to the US in Chicago, then back to Canada to Vancouver
East... are you confusing Portland, Oregon with Portland, Maine?
@@rickboivin7732 But he said Seattle so idk what he's thinking.
Think Pan-American Highway folks. Not the Eastern US but the Pan-Am approach with two branches.
@@allaboutthegyro Technically the Pan Am highway in the US is unofficial and the unofficial routes kinda go up the middle rather than up the populated coasts. If you want an Eastern route that actually goes through the populate areas, you're not gonna want it to connect in Seattle.
I agree it might take longer than 3 episodes. It'll be a plucky attempt though. I look forward to watching you fail :D
Also I’d have to play this with Google Earth open in a second window in order to maximize trying to build realistically
At 9:35
You shouldn’t klick ”build” before the blueprint of the station is complete.
Trams! Yes!
Don't build your blueprints until the track is also laid.
Need to cut the fares slightly, so you don’t keep refunding the passengers, and add more trains so you don’t compensate the passengers.
“Oh poo!” Hahaha spat my drink out

I want to buy that now, but I can't. Three days to relase. I want to try Slovakian terrain. Banská Bystrica, Žilina. Local amazing challenge.
