    It'd be cool to see a glow-in-the-dark resin bait for night fishing/low light conditions. I guess you would need your uv lights with you to charge it, but it seems like a cool concept.

    • @fordtuff1965
      @fordtuff1965 2 роки тому +11

      We used the flash off of an old camera. If you hit the uv with it a few times. Glows really nice. You get a good 5 or 6 long casts and have to hit it with the flash again.

    That big lure you said you were going to review got me thinking about an idea I had while watching your “lightest wood & densest wood” video, you did just a clear coat to show off the wood you used but I thought it would’ve looked cool with like a dark purple top and maybe some vertical bars but also leaving a lot of the wood grain showing through! Just an idea 💡

    Hey mate. When building glidebaits like this, give the body of the joint a flat 90° face but keep the angle on the tail. The super aggressive angle that this allows, gives the bait a supurb action called "chopping". Plenty of vudeos on YT about this technique and its the go to way to use these baits

    You made a comment about a vibrating table, and what I used while working in a local haunted house was an electric razor. It will do the same as a vibrating table at over half the cost. Just turn it on, leave it close to what you are working with and it will give you enough vibrations to get the job done.

    On the $1200.00 swimbait you talked about how you had problems with your belly weight sticking out.
    Maybe on your larger lead,insert one of your hook holders in the lead hole. Screw into body and leave the eye inside the hole. Lead will lock into the wire.

    Peanut Gallery Note: the jointed bait movement can be promoted, dampened & restricted by the angles of the connected screw eyes & angle. if the screw eyes on the head-end of the bait are vertical (12 & 6) and the tail-end eyes are horizontal (3 & 9), then the tail can swing easily. if you rotate the vertical eyes clockwise 20° and the horizontal eyes counter-clockwise 20°, then the connection will move from 90° to 50°. this will limit & dampen the action. don’t bother with this on your Rapals; try it out on the Marling design copies that many of us here steal from him 👍😉 if you wanna tweak your baits’ action

    Place your mould after pouring it into a modified pressure cooker and presurize it with a tire pump or compressor to about 20-25 lbs, that will compact any bubbles around the pattern and do it as well after pouring the resin into the mould till its cured under pressure, Check out Dental pressure cooking pots to get the idea and add a tire valve and a manometer to a regular kitchen pressure pot. Resin will copy any patern under pressure
