At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

Because the sultan and ibrahim are NOT the same in any means. The sultan is meant to have multiple women per customs of the empire. So it is not wrong to prepare women for the sultan. But Ibrahim? He’s a slave, moreover a slave who’s married to a sultana. It is strictly forbidden to prepare any woman for him or any such things. For some reason none of the hurrem worshippers can get this fact in their heads. Harsh i know, but this is the 16th century.

Also hatice is suleyman’s sister, it was not out of the norms for people of her position to send women to the sultan, can you say the same out of hurrem, who’s doing it out of revenge and pettiness?😅
@@sadiajafrinn No, we absolutely get it. (Or I do, anyway.) But that’s just makes it even funnier, tbh. She’s one of people always taunting Hurrem about how she’s got no choice but to let Suleiman sleep with whoever he wants. Hatice, on the other hand, has a husband who should be thankful he’s been elevated so high in life and had literal royalty return his affection. She’s always going on, too, about how she’s better than the concubines. He’d never dare. I mean, she even made Mahidevran and Gulfem upset with one of those speeches early one.
But, turns out…he dared. He dared and she closed her eyes just like the women she proclaimed to be above. And honestly thought she was doing something just because it interfered with Hurrem’s plans to get rid of him.

Agree. If she wore Hurrem's shous, would she agree?... They all (Hatige, other sisters, Hatige's daughter layer and Sultan's mother) about being bigger and higher 'cos they belong to dynasty... so what? In human adpects? All equal. Their arrogance even make them less than last concubine and servant in their palace.
Partially, her artogance pushed Ibrahim to Nigar. When she said "you SERVE me"as (part of) dynasty. SHE THINKS OF HERSELF 1ST as dynasty, HIGHER than other... though she is like everyone else... artogance...
Hurrem was way too bold, brash and overly confident, at times she needed to be brought down a bit. She did not deserve to be constantly the target of unaliving though. Hatice goes to bat for a man that did not deserve it and she ends up being hurt even more by a man and eventually loses her mind. But then again, Hurrem can't say a whole lot more herself. I speak of the story in the series, not in real life. This love of her life, this great love story, repeatedly caused her pain emotionally when he took a liking to someone else and would shut her out. When he finally finds out that she is going to di3 and then when she did di3, I wonder it he regretted putting her through so much emotional hurt. He also knew that when he went away her life was in threat and that she would be in terror, but he allowed those threatening her to just do it. Then the fake poison that he tested her with was just a vile thing to do. The look on her face when she realised how cruel he could be to her by making her take her life, even though it turned out not to be that, it was still cruel.
Her love for him WAS bigger than Hatice could ever hope for, but when all is said and done, she still was not in this storybook romance.

When people keep trying to end your life, you have to be on guard.
If Hatige would marry someone like Bali Bey or another nice petson, may be she would avoid major problems and lived happily... Her mind is blurred, if she could know Ibrahim better ( used and killed Luka-absolutely innocent person in this drama), called himself a timer of Sultan... would she still like him?... Alghough for thinking more of herrself (their "i'm a dynasty/sultana/ royal blah-blah)... may be she found her panishment in face of arrogant and too ambitious husband who became a reason of her sorrows (in the serial).
Valide sultan room is for the one whose son is sultan how hurrem or mahidevran can get the room
