The dev comment on LT is completely fair. The rune was made for late game and, more specifically, ranged champs. They should've made this change years ago.
It's not like they're not gonna instantly buff yone and yasuo if their winrate even lowers by 0.01%, they're posterboys now.

HOWEVER, it's undeniable yasuo is shit rn, his build is dog, his late game is terrible, if doesn't have minions he's barely a champ. Idk where ur pulling this win rate from but I assume ur talking about his adc win rate considering his mid and top win rates are both below 49%. And for yasuo adc it's a complete cheese pick, cosidering the adc meta rn(being apc) yasuo is functional, and he's even decent into some adcs yes. However compared to 90% of champions he's complete shit. His damage is lackluster after early game, he's completely unplayable into comps with ANY cc, he's completely unplayable without minions, and even with minions he loses lvls with almost every tank late game, even with bork and ldr(depending on items ofc) the only real time you lock yasuo is if your team has a halph Diana etc, the fact is yasuo is a team reliant champ that's too shit to be played in pro, he has shit items, shit matches, and doesn't scale at ALL, his only saving grace was that his laning was decent due to lethal and his e/q. So you sitting there, looking at his ADC win rate(with low sample size btw) telling me I'm bad and biased because a champ who has had a 48% win role in his main role(mid) and a 47% win rate on top, is strong is the single most delusional take I have ever seen. Btw if ur comment was a joke mb lol
While I do agree it's a bit of a weird situation to have Lethal Tempo gutted for all meele champions, I have to point out it's not as simple as just "removing or altering the interaction". Not only this makes for spaghetti code, it would be really weird to have overall

Riot should absolutely NOT be balancing specific champion-item interactions, as these create more knobs and levers for them to be aware of when balancing, which is already a HUGE problem in their game clarity. To this day nobody knows why Shaco's boxes take reduced damage, they just... do

The interaction talked about here is Q giving a stack, not the attack speed from Lethal Tempo.
Why not just exclude all runes from scaling cool down so that yasuo/Yone actually have to...... build attack speed to get the benefits that come with bonus attack speed? And then balance around that by increasing their attack speed growth by .5% or whatever ends up feeling good.

FINALLY. LT on yone gave him the equivalent of 1.4K gold in AS and 75% CDR for his Q and W at max stacks. And i'm not even counting the value a trundle or Trynda get with their Q's.
And with all that value he was still dumpstered by half the champ pool. Crazy right :^)

Nerf was good, but you know for a fact that both yone and yas are going to be overbuffed to a better place than before the nerf.
This is perfect for Trundle as well which it's just unstoppable.
The nerf feels so bad because Riot left LT in such an OP state for so long instead of addressing the issue early on.

@@telmoquinteiro8852 Bro, those items are still less effective if you're an adc with no mobility or good supp/team that peels for you. A tahm kench/mundo/volibear/Ksante/Sion and Trundle will literally kill U solo with how strong the tank items are with Kaenick Rookern, heartsteel and Frozen heart. Scaling is the name of the game. The only way to counter these tank items are probably adcs like Kaisa and Varus(But kaisa is more effective since she has more mobility) cuz they can build hybrid ap/ad On hit damage. But even then with good kiting, these tanks are able to kill you easily. ADC now especially in higher Elo's has to build atleast 1 tank item for survivability. Now, I wouldnt go far as to say they are broken like the other dude, but tanks are definitely strong in this meta right now, able to 3 v 1 in some cases.

this is actually a lethal tempo buff because now you don't have to build as many attack speed items. Now you can build DD.
It would be interesting to see at what level the new lethal tempi matches the old one. Is it late like 13 ish ir earlier like 7-9

Some big reasons why Riot might chose to nerf the rune instead of the champs abusing it themselves are:
Futureproofing the rune, they can now rework or add champions with AS scaling without as much worry that LT (lethal tempo) makes them broken lvl 1.
Changing champs is harder, the issue with changing how it works on certain champs means working around built in mechanics. Let's say they make Q from Yasuo and Yone not stack LT, then they would either make the rune not register those hits as autos, which could break other champs with auto based abilities, Kayle E or Ashe Q, which are also auto based abilities. If they make the Q itself not count as an auto items such as Wits End and BOTRK wouldn't work either. This is also not taking into account all of the number changes.
My guess would be that the affected champions buffs would be stuff like base AS changes, which would be the best choice, but could also include AS growth or scaling.
I do hope that they don't over-buff champs because of this change since LT users lvl 1 has been toxic for a while and needs to change to shift the meta a bit.
Changing Yone and Yas Q to not be an auto feels like the easiest solution. Also the least toxic, to get the benefit of an AA item, you should have to put yourself in danger by getting in range to AA. Would be really stupid to proc runaans on an ez Q.

His Q just can’t crit so runaans would be fucking horrible even with on hit effects applied. Probably shouldve used red gun aph or something instead lol.

@@Blade_VenomConq is just old Fervor which everyone loved and is probably the most missed tune of all time. It both stacks and boosts the power of abilities which is healthy for the game.
Tempo is the definition of stat check and lvl 1 cheese. Buy D blade, Run Ignite, Tempo, Bone plating, and zone anyone in the game from the wave level 1. Most champs that run tempo rely on it more than any champ in the game relies on their keystone. Like the Dev said, it should have been nerfed much earlier, but this is good enough I guess.
There used to be Armor Pen on Yasuo's R a long time ago but what happened in earlier seasons is a build that players referred to as Tanksuo, where you built tanky with items and Grasp and still did a decent amount of damage. I'm not convinced giving him pen back on his R will be a good change since this may reinspire players to build Tanksuo again.
he still has armor pen on his ult, but it only applies on crit hits. the problem isnt that he doesnt have damage, its that he has a hard time getting that damage off.

as a yone player i like this change. it promoted a playstyle i didn t really like, and i hope they will become viable again with fleet and conqueor. still i hope they will compensate the harsh nerf

@@TheEmilarOMG They reduced his W cool-down from roughly 10 seconds to 5… he literally just spams it when it’s on cool-down now and pokes you down. If you’re melee it feels so disgusting to play against, there’s almost no window for trading unless he just runs into you stupidly. By the time his W shield runs out, he has 2 seconds left on the cool-down. It’s like Nasus W lasting for 5 seconds when it has a 6 second cool-down…

@@sphyx_4356 Due to skill floor, not stats. The fact that the winrate for yasuo is anywhere near 50% should be clear enough that it could use a nerf. If Hwei had a 50% winrate, that would be a clear sign that there is a problem and the same is true for yasuo (though yasuo is a little easier I guess). I'm not sure why Yone isn't over 50% though since his kit is insane and the skill floor is way higher
Aside from that, general enjoyment of the game does matter even if it does hurt the champs a little. The same was true with Zed being weak for a super long time and still maintaining a consistently high ban rate. They left him weak because people don't have fun with that, not because they thought he was inherently broken. I think it was Phreak? who directly said that on stream/video a little while back

Also stats do matter. Mastering a champ should always be rewarded. Why one trick? If u get nothing in return?. Also just nerfing a champ based off off wr is not that smart. Unless its super high. Both of them are supposed to be skirmishers/bruisers. And both can be reliable if u are good enough. they are not high rist high reward.... Rather high skill high reward

You can play an op champ against another op champ too....and if you payed attention to the video he literally admits that yone's kit is so overtuned. Btw after nerf at lvl 6 will still give less AS buff than pre-nerf LT at lvl 1(8.67% post nerf lvl 6 vs 9% lvl 1 pre nerf).

i think yasuo getting a buff to his armor pen on R is a good idea, but their crit mod can't be adjusted as they'll just oneshot squishies harder as well, which they very much do not struggle at doing (or at least i feel that way)
Yone yeah he doesnt have any problems with one shotting most adc's ( Aside from smth like ezreal or zeri )
But yasuo has sum hard time getting there later in the game

Yasuo is already so garbage compared to yone now people are just gonna int with him even harder. Frozen heart makes yasuo completely useless.

I mained yasuo for many years and tbh I've been hoping they do something like this. Maybe then they'll address his real problems like being overly team reliant, outscaled at 25 minutes, and essentially high risk for low reward. Unless you're astronomically fed the champion just dies too fast while doing comparatively little damage.

Yasuo gets countered by almost everything, his form of poking is by engaging inwards (so later in the game or if behind he tries to do that rip) and also he falls off extremely quickly in late game, rendering him useless
Nerf seems very reasonable here

Yasuo is my 2nd most played champion, and I'm really glad for the lethal tempo change. I had to stop playing him because the rune completely warped his powerspikes and it didn't feel like the "right" way to play Yasuo, but he is balanced around it so running Conquerer feels like shit. Not sure how a "scaling" rune was allowed to be so broken early for so long.
as a yone main, the amount of times I can just match level 1 and 2 because of LT is astonishing. like no-one keeps in mind about both how broken LT is + the q w interaction (w cast time reduce w as)

The only time you actually feel like you affect attack speed is as malphite with frozen heart after hitting his e or nasus wither. Maybe he is talking about bruisers that are able to take advantage of tank items
Any adc player will tell you, they feel frozen heart AS while they are kiting. Shit really fucks your tempo
