Man, the areas look so tiny when you’re actually running around in ‘em. Like, the area where Eggman sends you to the future; the place where he and Elise are looks minuscule when you’re standing up there as Sonic.
Probably due to the use of the camera angles in that cutscene. Made it look like they were high up top but nah they were short as hell

Probably cause there’s less collusion or something like that
I would assume the collision is model based, and usually most of it would be removed for action stages to save on RAM and processing power, but the cutscene areas must not have been a priority. The cutscene locations have more complex models because you would see them up close so I bet they'd be easier to interact with for that reason, as a consequence though, loading time would be significantly increased.
Somehow I played sonic 06 without any problems...

These playable cutscenes really look like some unfinished sections or area of a stage rather than an actual cutscene of a game.
Ironically, these cutscenes seem more finished than the entire game. 7:39 The screen turns on

Ew no hub worlds suck. They take away from the levels. Hub worlds should be for players to use in open world games. Not level based.
They didn't have collision - I made the collision for this mod specifically. Sorry for confusion.
Also, to note about the screen turning on, that's actually some clever trickery from Sonic Team - they have a material animation with a timer and after awhile, the screen will turn on just in time for that part of the cutscene.
@@hyperbx Regarding the second part, so is the screen turning on just a coincidence? Or does it actually turn on when the player model collides with it (to turn on when Mephiles turns to the screen in the cutscene)? Yes I remember the cutscene from memory lol.

Seeing how small these sets and pieces are in comparison to the characters with the ingame camera really goes to show you how masterful the camera work is for the cutscenes in this game.

Nah thanks gimme sonic forces 2 with only adventure sonic following the sequel comics story, great level gameplay (actually open world would be great there) and the occasional boost like seen in comics

Oh yeah...with Silver, if you hold the jump button down for a long period of time, he jumps much higher than Sonic and Shad. Once you gain enough height, hover without mashing. If you need to get a tad further, free fall for a short distance to save psychic energy. Once you're at the correct height, hover again to where you need to be easily.

Ironically the cutscenes maps are much better than the playable levels
I used to spend hours in the original egg carrier cockpit, I’d fantasize that I was actually playing as Eggman piloting the ship and chilling in the pad below.
All that joy that came from that egg carrier makes this 2:33 all the more insulting.

@@dalaxdercrisper957 Hmmmm, the only thing I could think of, is how speed runners use exploits in games and went out of the boundaries, of the game.
Plus, in certain games, you could tell where the area was, after the cut scene ended, afterwards you had to find the exploit.
