- Sacramento valley firing range is a good place to target practice. Learned about this place from my coworker who enjoys coming here with his son.
We came out here to shoot my new S&W 40 VE and also I wanted my son to try out and shoot different guns. Now looks like he’s hooked on firearms.

Personally, from looking at this video, it doesn't seem like the .40 has a lot of recoil. I truly believe that shooting involves having proper technique and it how you grip the firearm that will enable you to shoot it better.
It recoils Forsure but like u said it’s all about grips it’s a perfect caliber if you ask me 10mm just above it
I've tested out the .40 he shot with the larger capacity magazine, I think it was 17 rounds? The size of the pistol helps to reduce the felt recoil. The micro .40 that Glock offers is NOT fun to shoot due to the recoil 😭
@@cartermartin6284 You talking about the g27? I have one and love it. I think it's a blast to shoot! Lol. You just gotta take your support hand and grip the hell out of it. Tames it down a BUNCH.
Most handguns -with exceptions obviously 😂- can be manipulated pretty well to have almost no recoil comes with some time and practice but anyone can be a flat shooter!!

I have the SD9VE and bought it about 6 years ago and it's been 100% functional .. and I beat on it quite a bit ...
I would bitch about the way these two are gripping the weapon but dad is shooting like champ.

Did you get the SD 40?
I bought the 9mm version SD9VE here in Indiana. The two magazines that came with mine are 16+1. I bought two additional mags which are 17+1. $330 new here. Yay, Indiana!

The S&W SD .40 is a Very cheap and reliable gun, just a HORRIBLE TRIGGER!
A must is the Apex spring kit for the slide, and trigger, and then a Apex trigger it's self, and what a difference, i did the swap out, and it was very easy!

I've got the gray handled, black slide SD9 now. My next purchase will definitely be the SD40.
How’s your 9mm performing? Any issues with it?
So far my .40s&w shoots great. I’ve shot about 1500 rounds and noticed that when feed ramp gets dirty, the ammo goes in cockeyed. Once I clean it than it fires great again. Happens after about 200+ rounds.
@@balabay77, I haven't had it very long, so I've only had time to put one box (100) of ammo through it. It worked flawlessly and made me fall even deeper in love with it. If you want, I'll come back after I'm able to get 1000 through it and let you know then.

You definitely need to get the APEX trigger kit and the APEX bullet indicator... easy upgrades that will improve the gun 👍

@@308sir I've never used the Galloway kit... I put the Apex on my shield and loved it so much added it to my SDVE as well.... I've heard good things about the Galloway trigger kit but haven't tried it...

When shopping at a gun show are guns take home? Or do you have to wait 10 days?
@@dmm2400 If you have you concealed carry permit they let you take it home the same day different states and stores have different waiting periods I have mine so I was able to take it home the same day

I just purchased my SD40 two days ago my next step in going online to order my live rounds for both clips then get my CWP things are different here in Columbia SC I've heard how different things are in Cali but now people are waking up to what's going on in Washington but we both know brother THEY CAN'T STOP US FROM OUR 2ND AMENDMENT ✌🇺🇸

There are some items that will upgrade your pistol, Truglo TG231MP Brite site then you can add the Streamlight TLR-6, 69293 that fits the Smith and Wesson M&P pistol fits the 40VE/9VE and works great. I have the Streamlight TLR-6 on many of my sidearms and hope to have one on all of them. This model has a Laser and 100 Lumen light and it not too bulky and very light I highly recommend them and Fobus makes a holster RBT17 that works with this sidearm with a light installed. the CAA Roni & MCKs are great. CAA is an awesome company they listen to their customers they make great items. @ I would recommend having 2 pistols one to install in a CAA MCK and one on your hip and have a "Perfect Pair"(sidearm and carbine/rifle in the same caliber and even better if they use the same magazine also!) They are great to have!

I compared these to the glock 40cals.. and i much prefer the way these feel in the hand.
But the Glock 40 trigger was a little better.
I have that Ruger laying on the table great gun. Also have the Smith too got it in tan and black great gun for the price
If you only pull it back a little you dont have to pull the trigger when you field strip it.
Can you get the slide off your SD40VE without engaging your firing pin? Aka try only taking the slide back about 1/4" just enough to release the tension on the slide lock, and then letting the slide move forward while keeping the slide lock held down on both sides of the gun.
sd40 gen 2 is a beast 329!

If they are gonna force 10 rds they should make a sub compact sdve series. I love my sd40 and honestly would love to buy a G26 size sd. But we can just get an m&p i guess

I liked SD40 so much that I ordered a Glock 35 which is also a S&W 40 but it will be my main home defense toy. Good thing about glocks is that they are LEGO guns. In other words parts are interchangeable so I’ll buy a 9mm conversion barrel for it and I’ll have two guns in one. Can’t wait to receive it. Thanks for watching and commenting.

People are probably just stuck on a brand name. I’ve got one and it’s great, my Glock is nice but my 40 has more than 1000 rounds thru it

balabay77 I don’t think it has to go to the Supreme Court. The 9th circuit ended the ban on high capacity mags

i just bought mine at academy here in texas about a week ago, came out to around 450$, its fantastic. People say glocks are better but this is literally on par. The slide is definitely better as well as the magazines, but i prefer glock trigger much more. all about preference but this thing is an actual beast and is no longer a 'budget gun'. if anyone can even find it near 350$ thats an instant steal.

Yes. The trigger is around 7-8lbs long pull and it fires towards the end of the pull.

For sure. They’re not that much different, just slightly more recoil kick. Now if you’re comparing 9mm to 45 acp there’s a difference you can definitely feel. Good luck.

Recently I went to a gun show in my neck of the woods and some dude was selling bunch of used guns there. One of them was a SD40VE for $500. I thought to myself “boy that’s steep”. As I circulated back to that stand, someone already bought it. Demand for guns is through the roof right now.

Мой сын вырос, у него появились другие интересы и ему стало не интересно собирать драндулеты. Ну а мне эти самоделки в принципе не нужны и вообще как-то было бы странно их дальше мастерить без сына.
В общем лавочку прекрыл а всё что смастерил уже давно продал. Нынче дети пошли какие-то никчёмные только за компьютером долбятся весь день и им больше ни чего не надо.
