As an American who has lived in London for many years, for any people wanting to see some things a bit different, I recommend taking South Wester Rail from Waterloo to Hampton Court Palace. There was a lot to see at the palace but cross the bridge onto the south side and there are some excellent restaurants and pubs. Then, walk along the Thames heading south. You'll pass Molesey Cricket Club and Molesey Boat Club and then the path opens onto fields. It's a beautiful, little slice of England.

What a lovely post! My one recommendation, concerning souvenir shops, would be to avoid almost all of the ones in the tourist hotspots, as they're full of junk from China. The best shops for gifts that I've found (I've lived in London since 1990) are the shop opposite the Royal Mews (forgotten its name), Buckingham Palace and the shop inside the Queen's Gallery, Buckingham Palace. London is always a great city to visit there is so much to see and do, with a lot history and it looks even better in the sun, but i remember going to London in the summer, sometime in August about 6 years ago and the weekend i went the temperature was 95F it was so hot! i remember walking around all the tall buildings with no breeze hardly any air and so stuffy i remember thinking i was going to pass out lol, i had run into the nearest pub to get a drink. i like high temps but much rather be on a beach when its that hot. looks like you packed a lot in on your visit.
Aww, two people from the pacific northwest appreciating London, exploring London, and learning more about the history of London than I probably ever will in my lifetime I mean it's right there, I could get on the bus... but.. I dunno.. ehhh?
We just did a trip to London from April 10-20 …. it’s funny to be watching your video because it’s almost the same …. markets, record stores, great food, geeky rock n roll stuff!
We have the oldest pub in England and located in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, and overlooks the Great Ouse River. It’s considered by many people to be England’s oldest in the country. The inn has been serving alcohol since 560 AD, according to legend.
You should take a trip to Greenwich using the Boats on the thames. Take the cheapest boat. It’s about £7 for memory (one way). But even the cheapest boat will give you a tour. They have bars onboard and stop at the sights. Get on at Westminster dock and get off at Greenwich Park, great cheap but really cool trip. Greenwich Market is worth a visit, plus the Kutty Sark and it’s where they invented time ;) Then take the Jubilee line back / to Central London
You should go to Camden Market on a Sunday morning. Cheap tickets for West End shows from the kiosk at Leicester Square. Also, if you remember 'Sherlock' starring Bennedict Cumberbatch, you might like to visit North Gower Street - 221B Baker Street While the real Baker Street is home to the Sherlock Holmes Museum (though it’s at 237-41 rather than 221B), on the show scenes were filmed on the much quieter No. 187 North Gower Street. Also here is the real Speedy’s Cafe
There is a small beach at the Tower of London exposed at low tide. I don’t know if it is still used but when I was a child in the 1950s we could go down steps to the beach and play there and sunbathe. The beach is man-made. They brought in a lot of sand to create it. It was to give the London people and their children somewhere to enjoy the good weather in the summer.
I know Americans always want to see the obvious tourist sights but there’s so much more to this incredible city where actual Londoners live and work. Of course time is always the problem but if you can take the District line tube to beautiful Richmond on the Thames River, great walks, some great cafes (Olly & Ben is a must) and Richmond Park is one of the largest urban parks in the World and well worth a visit.
South East Londoner, born and bred! I worked for WEA Records in New Oxford St. Next door was Elton John's Rocketman records. My wife (girlfriend in those days) worked at Warner Brothers Records, Greek St. as PA for Ron Kass (Joan Collins' husband). My job took me to Trident Studios, amongst other places, The 100 Club, The Marquee was a great place to wander into late afternoons, sound checks, for instance! My Uncle George used to have a Stall selling only tomatoes in Berwick Market (pronounced berrick st). Yep, a yank bought London Bridge, the wrong bridge, Americans always asked us how to get to London Bridge and we always asked them why they wanted to see that Bridge, essentially a flat piece of concrete, and they would describe Tower Bridge! The view from the block of flats that I lived in, you could see from St Pauls right round to Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, and after walking home from the West End, watched the GPO Tower blow up in the 70's!
16:56 Paul McCartney's home is near Abbey Road studios and Lord's Cricket ground. You can walk from Sir Paul's home to Abbey Road pedestrian crossing made famous by The Beatles. If you wanted to see famous stars then go to BBC's Radio 2 building on Gilda St not far from Oxford St, you could have seen government ministers, pop stars and actors going back an forth all day for interviews.
Always interesting seeing a foreigners view of my country. Used to work in London for 16 years, and up till last year sailed on the River Thames. When you grow up and live in a place you take it for granted. I have worked locally in Dartford for the past 8 years so not been London for a while even though it's only a 25 min train journey away from where I live in Kent. I sail on the river medway near Rochester and Chatham now. I recommend Rochester castle, Chatham dockyard. Great video, lots of energy. 👍 Welcome to the UK
I'm 40 born and raised in the UK, lived here all my life (London specifically) and I had never heard of or seen Leadenhall Market. Thanks for introducing me to my own city ;)
St Pauls is such an iconic landmark for London. So much so that any view of it is now protected by law which is the reason for some of the odd shaped skyscrapers which have to lean out of the way so that they don't obstruct the view of it.
Good to see a couple of Americans willing to learn about the UK first hand...too many think they know it all without even leaving the USA and are just so ignorant...good your enjoying your visit.....
It is Super Bloom. I have purchased my tickets, celebrating 70 years of our Queen. Have a lovey time in the UK, and remember train travel is cheaper in April and May. I recommend the lovely market town of Ludlow, Shropshire.
I got married in Southwark Cathedral back in 1989 and the market was just a wholesale fruit and veg market without a tourist in site. It has changed so much.
@@TheMagicGeekdom Being born a couple of miles south of Tower Bridge in the 60's I have seen so many changes, There was still War damaged areas for us feral kids to play on. Feeling old now ;)
Viewing gallery at the top of the Tate Modern. It's the big converted power station (art deco architecture) with chimney, across the footbridge from St.Pauls Cathedral. Which is 5minutes walk from the Walkie Talkie. It's brilliant and you can take the whole gallery in at the same time. All free.
You said you didn't visit London Tower, you really must go in and book on a tour you will need a full day, there is lots of history and plenty of food places so take aday to see it all. Enjoy
I lived and worked in London for over 30 years then retired back to Lancashire. I much prefer my quiet life now, but it's lovely to see London again through fresh eyes. Maybe I will steel myself for a revisit (not set foot there since Christmas 2018 !!). Cara is an attractive presenter in all senses of the word, I can see Jeremy is a lucky guy :)

You did great, you picked some great spots. The Sky Garden is much an amazing spot where you can get some great panoramic views including the Wembley Stadium arch. Third Man Records is also an amazing experience, if a little small. If you're still there or you are going back I highly recommend you have an English Breakfast at E Pellicci. Real London charm, the guys who run it are amazing and it has links to the Krays who used to eat there
I like this vid. You pair are quite likeable. I’m a Londoner and I like seeing tourists actually getting the most out of my home city. If you’re back soon, (in May I think) there’s a new VR ‘Gunpowder Plot’ experience opening at the Tower. If it works it’s going to be fascinating!

Lol but it's so much easier to be a tourist in other places then where you live, right?
We just did a trip to London from April 10-20 …. it’s funny to be watching your video because it’s almost the same …. markets, record stores, great food, geeky rock n roll stuff!
Oh that's awesome!
Greetings from London, I'm really happy you both had a wonderful time.
Thank you! 😃
Very well done- I visit London often and it’s nice hear your perspective on it and what you find enjoyable.
We have the oldest pub in England and located in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, and overlooks the Great Ouse River. It’s considered by many people to be England’s oldest in the country. The inn has been serving alcohol since 560 AD, according to legend.
I really hope more Americans can come over and see London. And also the rest of the beautiful United kingdom.
We hope so too! We had a wonderful time.
Wow so cool! I want to go there some day! That looked like a fun way to tour the town jut learning about the music that has been made there!
Yes, it was a great way to tour the area. Hope you can make it there one day. It's a pretty amazing city.
I love the little "visiting special locations" spin you give your videos! Glad to see you had a great time in London, and what wonderful weather!!
Thank you! We definitely got lucky with the weather all throughout GB.
Love our American cousins. Glad you had a great time & come back soon. 🏴🇺🇸
Excellent video, guys. You both look so happy...
Thank you! 😃
Greenwich Market is worth a visit, plus the Kutty Sark and it’s where they invented time ;)
Then take the Jubilee line back / to Central London
Thanks for the recommendation!
You should go to Camden Market on a Sunday morning. Cheap tickets for West End shows from the kiosk at Leicester Square. Also, if you remember 'Sherlock' starring Bennedict Cumberbatch, you might like to visit North Gower Street - 221B Baker Street
While the real Baker Street is home to the Sherlock Holmes Museum (though it’s at 237-41 rather than 221B), on the show scenes were filmed on the much quieter No. 187 North Gower Street. Also here is the real Speedy’s Cafe
Camden Market is in the video coming out next.
Oh, wow that's really interesting. Thank you for watching it.
@@TheMagicGeekdom You can see a video about it here:ua-cam.com/video/_sMfyVEh-nI/v-deo.html
We actually did stop in Richmond on our way out of London. 😀
Wow! You have so many cool stories! That's amazing.
An American did buy London Bridge, but it’s a myth that he thought he was getting Tower Bridge. He knew what he was buying.
Welcome to my amazing city!
It is an amazing city!
THANKS for The Sky Gardens tip !!!
Last week I was on a Thames Boat Trip and they told us about the free views of London and I will go soon:)
You're welcome! It's pretty cool and great that it's free.
Thank You :)
Glad you are travelling about. Not just London. Good luck
Thanks! 😃
You must go to Borough food market open Thursday- Saturday, wonderful.
Didnt you watch the video?!
We did! We loved it. Thanks for the recommendation.
Commented to soon, glad they did go, I love it.
That’s amazing! Thank you for sharing!
Oh interesting.
Oh that's neat. We didn't make it to Kent, but hopefully next time. Thanks for the recommendations!
I'm 40 born and raised in the UK, lived here all my life (London specifically) and I had never heard of or seen Leadenhall Market. Thanks for introducing me to my own city ;)
So glad you enjoyed our wonderful city. You visited quite a few free places which is what you should be doing. Nice video. 💖🇬🇧
Thank you! 😃
St Pauls is such an iconic landmark for London. So much so that any view of it is now protected by law which is the reason for some of the odd shaped skyscrapers which have to lean out of the way so that they don't obstruct the view of it.
Good to know. Thanks!
Good to see a couple of Americans willing to learn about the UK first hand...too many think they know it all without even leaving the USA and are just so ignorant...good your enjoying your visit.....
too many think they know it all…AND are ignorant?…..wow rude!..way to go Cherie.
I’m sure they appreciated your ignorant comment
Love all the history, everything looks so beautiful 🥰
Such an amazing place to visit. We got lucky with the weather too.
It is Super Bloom. I have purchased my tickets, celebrating 70 years of our Queen. Have a lovey time in the UK, and remember train travel is cheaper in April and May. I recommend the lovely market town of Ludlow, Shropshire.
Thank you for the tips. Hope you enjoy Super Bloom!
I got married in Southwark Cathedral back in 1989 and the market was just a wholesale fruit and veg market without a tourist in site. It has changed so much.
Oh wow that's neat. That cathedral is so beautiful, but the area probably has changed a lot.
@@TheMagicGeekdom Being born a couple of miles south of Tower Bridge in the 60's I have seen so many changes, There was still War damaged areas for us feral kids to play on. Feeling old now ;)
That’s was awesome. I work in Soho by the way. Your video was so informative. Well done, looking forward to part two. I love London. ❤️
Awesome! Thank you!
Sky garden is lovely, I go drinking there sometimes at night as it turns into a full on bar, it's not cheap but a great drinking destination
Oh that sounds fun!
All free.
We wanted to go to the Tate, but we ran out of time. There's still so much we'd like to do there.
Love London best place in the world 👏👏👏👏👏
We loved it too!
You need to explore the North of England so beautiful 😍
We did! We'll have more videos coming out with that too. 💙
You have come armed with a lot of local knowledge, good stuff!
Thanks!
Hi nice to meet you both. New to your channel today. Love seeing tourist visit my town I was born in. I was in that spot at the record store in Soho 2 weeks ago, it's really good record shop. I am so glad you picked London for your holiday. xx
Welcome aboard! Thank you so much.
Real London charm, the guys who run it are amazing and it has links to the Krays who used to eat there
Thanks for the recommendation! Unfortunately, we missed it this time, but hopefully next time!
That sounds interesting. Sadly, we won't be back in May.
What a nice couple. Very open minded. They reminded of my visit to London years ago.
Love from Shrewsbury England 🏴, uk, 🇬🇧
Thank you!
Glad that you're enjoying your time in the UK!
It's been wonderful.
I watched the Back to the Future Musical on its opening week, it was amazing! Glad you enjoyed London.
Oh nice! It was great. We loved London and can't wait to visit again!
Wow, I loved this video! Especially the bus view through Bank/ The Royal Exchange. Makes me miss my days in London. Thank you!
