Heeh it really does - i hit the limit unintentionally - killed zenith wall of flesh with dart blocks. I realised after that i had unintentionally blocked those imps it spawns from firing as well as limited wall of flesh's shots of lasers.

Get a resource pack that changes the "ball was hit" text to be blank, then the only thing you will see is the number. might be able to even get rid of where it calls for the number
You can specifically make the number 998 invisible as well, since that’s the only number that’s being used
Wyverns: When you need them the most, they don't spawn, but when you need them the least, they spawn instantaneously. Such a trollish grin.

seeing the weird ways terraria uses projectiles for mechanics is an interesting part of this plathrough
A small trick I found to quickly farm souls is to make a small Hallow/Corrupt biome in the dungeon.
Unlike every other biome except the underworld, no new mobs appear, and the existing ones only get a mild health buff in Expert Hardmode, which, when combined with the very high spawn rates of a Hardmode Dungeon means lots of souls.
And before you try King Slime minions, that got patched in 1.4. Sorry.
That’s actually really interesting, I didn’t think of that. I’ve been playing modded a lot recently so farming souls hasn’t really been a problem for a while.
I do want to add tho with shimmer it means instead of bringing that biome to the dungeon you can bring the dungeon to the biome, it’ll be better for farming souls if you set it up right but it might not be worth the effort.
Or, you could make an artifical dungeon in the corruption with the shimmer
Killing eater of worlds in the dungeon gets you souls too
@@beeftips1628 yeah i have converted a small section of my crimson souls of night farm with the cursed dungeon wall, if i want to switch between crimson mobs and dungeon mobs i just have to move my character to the section without the dungeon walls easy swap haha

I think the reason why the drill is counted as a projectile but still works on the initial drill is because it functions as a cross between a ranged weapon and pickaxe. The first time it’s “swung” it functions as a pickaxe, but any time after that it takes the firing functionality of ranged weapons but makes the attack function like a pickaxe

Y'know I just really wanna take the time to appreciate all of the effort WoS goes through to leave all of the music, timestamped, with links and a breakdown of what franchises are represented in the video description. That's a really cool but of dedication and it doesn't go unnoticed! (And it's funny that Minish Cap got some extra love this time cuz I had found my original Gameboy and started replaying it the other day which is an interesting coincidence.)
I can't wait for the Calamity mod to disable beach balls as an item or give them a despawn timer so that we can't cheese bosses with them
I know this is somewhat late now, but wouldn't summoner be pretty viable? You could use Abagail's Flower straight into Desert Tiger staff.

They're probably projectiles, no idea if they stay out once spawned like the flails or not though. He could just be overlooking the obvious but if it doesn't work it's probably already demonstrated somewhere in either the first video or a random mythbuster episode.

I think the boss fights would've been easier if you used the Spider Staff instead of the Flinch Staff, since it deals mode damage, applies acid venom and hooks into enemies.
Speedrunners use a few tricks that you might find useful. For future playthroughs, you can shimmer Archery Potions or Suspicious Looking Eyes to get lenses. Second, if you ever get caught in the Destroyer’s loop, magic mirror to escape. Third, and this is super duper cheap, but if you absolutely have to, you can lock the nurse in a box near you, place down two bumper rails, and then start bouncing in between them. Now you can use true melee (ie any Lance) to deal a ton of damage, since Lances scale with speed, and you’re now going 66mph.
We need a "ally only challenge" where you have to beat Terraria but you are not allowed to attack enemies in any form, and you have to have your worst friend at Terraria play it with you and they have to do all the damage.
There is a youtuber that does a pacifist run challange he can only deal damage with accessoires and armor he also cant use summons

I have a Idea for your next playthrough. the entire world is one evil biomes and certain walls eg. ebonstone walls will be replaced by spiderwalls. For the jungle just give yourself one jungle seed

I’m still sitting here stressed about uni actually, I was hoping the video would sufficiently calm my nerves before bed as to allow me to sleep, and although calm my nerves it did, sufficiently it did not (which is more an inevitability of midterm season than anything to do with the video, to be clear). Dao of Pow well, destroys the destroyer in vanilla too, definitely my go to choice after testing it a while back. Spinning it around you and going up next to its tail when spawning deals silly damage

I think using sniper riple must be viable against late-game bosses since it has large damage with long use time, it is much less constrained by 1 projectile limit.
Only versus bosses that don't use projectiles themselves.

Honestly if your gonna go for melee, id recoment the frost armor as that way it can technically give you two damage over time debuffs on the bosses

one challenge i’ve wanted to see/do is a pre-hm gear only. i know the bundle of balloons + frog gear is pretty powerful, and master mode gear on non-master mode bosses could push it a little farther.

Sometimes I wonder if terraria has a hidden item drop modifier with random values for each world.
I remember never finding a nazar in one world even after killing 1000 skulls. But when I generated and entered a new world, literally the first skull dropped one.
This was long before the luck mechanic was added.
I imagine a regen/tank setup with melee would be pretty decent. get some damage, sit still since the enemy can't attack you, repeat.

if you use a gun you should use high velocity bullets since they'll travel super fast and probably hit a lot or you could farm the uzi which turns normal bullets into high velocity ones

Unrelated to the video, just a thing I thought you terraria breakers would like to know. I have discovered a bug(?) where the rainbow rod can phase through the space between placed blocks, but only vertically. Simply drag it to a wall, have your cursor far away from the projectile, and slowly+steadily drag downward.
Switch to summoner after planterra and use desert tiger staff. It's one summon, high damage and stops all projectiles.

Someone needs to make a mod where the game will set the projectile limit to 0 so all you can do is to get personal with enemy and so for enemies too but enemies in melee range are extremely dangerous.
