But as you can see at 39:37 , the plague god is still intent on trolling you

I actually like the class balance to this point. Clearly there are a couple of outlier skills, but generally speaking all of the classes are serviceable.

it's not strange, you were actually missing something at the end of the mission (the 3 turn "hold for extraction" timer), the mission doesn't end until the timer does (the game assumes that there will be reinforcements arriving so it won't end the mission just because there are no enemies on the map)
