    The detaching towbar, yes... The reason they (very very rarely) drop out, is because they are only meant to be placed in when one is actually towing. Trouble is a lot of owners just put the tow balls in and left them in permanently. When they are not under load they vibrate in the frame very slightly, and over time this can (potentially) lead to them detaching from the frame and dropping out when towing. Land Rover did do a recall about this. Never had any trouble with mine. I also use a safety plate too.

    We've been camping with a class c but recently traded the Mazda for an LR4
    The previous owner used the " bolt on" hitch for a bike rack. I got the wiring kit and need to get a trailer brake controller.
    Next is selling the rv and getting a trailer :)
    Our Fox something is my navigator 😂
    BTW, I lived in Labrador and only saw huskies, no Labs

    Hi Paul
    Just seen this video and really enjoyed it. I’ve had the D3 and D4 and loved them both. The D4 is a big improvement over the 3 from both a trim and engine point of view. Mine never gave the mpg that your does. Towing it was about 21 but solo no better than about 28. It’s the Swiss Army knife of cars. I’ve moved on to a Range Rover SDV8 and the power increase is unbelievable.
    I used a company called Trailervision for a surround camera system and their digital wireless connection is completely bulletproof. Never let me down. 👌

    Why do you remove it though for the MoT? I wonder if this is juts for the 6/7th seat belts?

    Your MPG is far better than I expected. I've got a 2013 freelander 2 190 bhp and only get slightly better MPG maybe 3 or 4 more mpg and that's towing a Swift Elegance single axle van....thanks for sharing.

    Best tow vehicle for caravans ever...and exceptional off road... don't get why British caravan owners bother with European of Japanese units when the best is made right here in the UK!!.❤️🇬🇧

      My brother in law has owned 3 brand new Land Rovers over the last 12 years. All 3 have had to have their engines replaced within 30,000 miles. That why people buy European, Japanese or in my case South Korean.

    Hi Paul loved the video, I have just purchased a D4 and hoping to pick up next week. Looking forward to getting it. Loved the look to the dog cage and storage you have, was that purchased as is or is it self build. Either way be able to share parts etc as would love to get something the same.

    • @pashonexploring
      @pashonexploring  Рік тому +1

      Hi Richard glad you liked it, I made the dog cage and storage myself mostly with parts from an old machine which was being scrapped at work just before I retired. You could Google search 'trailer plywood', 'aluminum T-slot profile extrusion' and you should find the main materials I used, I purchased the rear dog guard from 'Travall'. Make sure you're subscribed to see our other vlogs with our LR4 in them, enjoy your new purchase they truly are an awesome machine, cheers Paul.

    Love your choice Paul. I tow a 2000Kg caravan with a D300 Range Rover Velar (3Ltr V6) and it's brilliant. I usually get around 28-32 MPG towing. Ironically I had a 2Ltr Velar previously and it got slightly less. I hadn't heard about the Land Rover towbar problems, thankfully I have the electrically deployable option and that shouldn't be able to fall out!! I hope. One last thing Paul, what is the rear camera you're using? I have an Autovox W7Pro that works using an extension cable from the camera on the rear of the caravan to the transmitter at the front but it doesn't look as tidy as yours. Many thanks. 👍

      Hi, i purchased the camera and monitor as a kit at one of the shows, its from a company called DRW electronics www.drwelectronics.com/ its ok but does loose signal from time to time but that's probably due to where i have installed it ? the monitor is the 'Mon-22' 4.3" pop up one, cheers.

    Hi Paul, I’m new to your channel and love this vlog. I wanted to ask about your TomTom Go Camper, have you got it hard wired into the car and how do you have it mounted? We have a Kia Sportage (2L 182bhp) with a dash similar to yours and your set up looks very interesting! Also which Nextbase Dashcam do you have and how do you find it? Thanks, Adam.

    • @pashonexploring
      @pashonexploring  Рік тому +1

      Hi glad you enjoyed it, I fabricated a small bracket which tucks in behind the air vent/dash and used the original TOMTOM cradle (without the suction mount) hid the wiring and plugged it into a usb socket which in turn is plugged into one of the 12v car sockets, and it works well. Not sure what model our dashcam is, we've had a few years now and think it was one of the early ones, but its been very good and I've used the footage from it in a lot of our other videos. 👍

    You can't beat a Disco for towing had my Discovery 4 for 11 yrs 35 mpg without the van and towing average 24mpg ,I would love a Landmark but they are still fetching big money that proves how good they are ,what car did you drive before the Discovery ,driven properly they are good on fuel yours is better than mine because mine is six speed box .it still drives as good as the day I bought it .regards Trevor

    Has a hgv driver I can’t see the point in a rear facing camera look where you’re going not where you’ve been if someone is going to shunt you up the rear there going to do it wether or not you’ve a rear facing camera
    .also with all the rest of the screens on your dashboard your taking a lot of forward vision away from your view out of the windscreen. Nice vehicle though .
