Great video, thank you. I appreciate the way you “approached” this with the slow down then go down. Overshooting and the tendency to try to slow down while going down and pushing the 30/300 rule is very common in step approaches and confined areas.
Thanks, yes I always found that people tended to make more mistakes and get overwhelmed while setting themselves up when trying to deal with airspeed and decent rate at the same time. You're right too about people pushing the limits when they think they are going to overshoot, for some reason they are reluctant to do a go-around or land long (if possible) - best to get these safer mindsets dialed in early on to prevent these behaviors prevailing at later times in their careers.
Alex, I LOVE your explanations and presentations. There are very few GOOD instructional type videos out there but your's is one of the few!!! Thank you a keep them coming! Only one brief comment.......When you fly and explain the pace of your voice is great, except when you pronounce the name of your company (I still don't know how to say it 😁) and also whenever you talk to the tower, it is so fast I can't understand what you are saying to them but it helps to know as we learn! Just a couple of thoughts...nothing terrible!
