I've always hated the cafe aesthetic they've been using for the past 10 years now. I actually remember a couple places that, just before the rebrand, still had some remnants of the brown, white, and yellow color scheme with one or two little McDonaldland murals in tact and those weird swivel chairs connected to tables. One was completely demolished to put back up again in the bland cafe format, the other's just gone. Seems they only trot out Grimace and McNugget Buddies and those things for nostalgia purposes and "adult" promotions, or retro merch like with Funko. On the bright side, at least the US dropped those annoying Minions knockoff Happy Meal mascots.
I'm so happy to see someone covering McDonald's lost media! Last year I was really interested in Voice of McDonald's (VoM) which was a American Idol-esque singing contest that McDonald's ran. I'm waiting for the day that more people know that McDonald's sort of tried to compete with American Idol (but not really because VoM wasn't marketed or run very well).
The best part was when he hit the griddley across the tables with Archie and the evil Grimace while singing the 60 second version of the Mac Tonight song.
The image of the YumChums just tickled something in my brain then you said it was UK advertising and... okay, I must have SEEN these guys during their run. o.o
Do chick flick a lost media i rember they gave out games on disks they where sports games one football,baseball,soccer and hockey i had the baseball one but it went missing when i moved a few years ago love the video
I literally found an image of the shrimp mcbites, sold in Pakistan as “shrimps”, it’s ACTUAL promotional material, but every time I try to link it my comment gets deleted, sewer what do I do
I know it sounds crazy but I typed into google images “Shrimp McBites”. That’s all. I don’t have twitter. And then I found a post from 2014 regarding the “McDonald’s Seafood Festival” which I’m assuming is some promotional thing from Pakistan, and there they were. They have to be Shrimp McBites, there is no way that’s not what they are man
