massive props to Bootsy Collins for keepin it funky for decades.
That's what he does 💯!! Love ya Bootsy!
Hard to believe he's 70!
dude, hasn't aged either!
thatss bootsy baa byy
'Hip Hop Lollipop with Fantaazma' in 2022, 'Wind Me Up with Chicago's Contemporary Youth Orchestra' in 2013, 'Weapon of Choice with Fat Boy Slim' in 2001, and 'Groove is in the Heart- with Deee-Lite in 1990' - That is one helluva a history of collaboration
Bootsy Collins is 70 years old and still throwing down!!! Making actual music you can crank up and EVERYONE IN THE ROOM LIKES IT! Hey young musicians take notes, nothing like real musicians playing to make you move!! Energy over electronics!!
💯💯💯
Your observations are spot on. This drags the funk experience into a new era and also provides new relevance for a vintage (and sometimes tired) genre -- I can't believe how good it is, and how contemporary.
@Rusty Gears Stop making excuses for your shit music. Do you actually play something or do you press a button for that repetitive one note bass that all this gang member rap is about? That's not fucking music.
There's a difference between playing something and using programmed beats and notes. There's also the quality of lyrics.
@Rusty Gears For an example of someone before bootsy blurring the line between 'real instrument' and everything else look up Hendrix's version of the The Star Spangled Banner from The Rainbow Bridge album. Not his famous Woodstock version, this is a much less-well known version where Jimi has about a billion tacks of sped up and and mucked around guitars going on at once. People like Bootsy and Jimi tend to learn the rule book and then realize it's a rule book and take it over to the window and throw it out...
I saw him back in the 1980's as a teenager, damn. Huge band of nothing but pure talent on the stage with him. Whole place was moving. Wah effects on the bass for days. This bass line is classic greatness and it's up to date with the music in 2020's, 40 years later. Fantaazma is awesome for this. Two funky thumbs up!
They really, really should start playing this on the radio.
Yes that would be awesome! 💃🏼🔥
They'd definitely play this on my local radio if I'd request it ...but there's probably a million Funky songs I'd choose first.
@@DerEchteBold name a few?
@@flapjackspeeder
Well, you kinda got me there cause I don't really know the names of the songs I love on the radio but I guess it's often the very classics, like Kool & the Gang or such.
I also really love Disco-Funk and other late 70s early 80s stuff, also Soul-Funk ...for actual names I'd really have to do some research.
Lets just say I don't really like this particular song here, it just doesn't get me, happens sometimes.

Don’t you sweat it, Funkateer.
To bass players, Victor needs no introduction; but to be introduced by Bootsy, that's an honour indeed.
That was a very nice solo.
Fantaazma is the bomb and Victor Wooten's bass solo was gutter funky. This song made me make "The Face"!
It sure did! FunkFace 😼🐶🐶!! 🔥🔥
agreed!
Staaaan key 🥵🥵🥵
@@sayitloud6660 she sounds like left eye,
@@karlgibbs3350 You're right! Definitely hear some LeftEye 🔥🔥🔥
Fantaazma's dancing is so fun, the horns sound great, and not one but TWO legendary bassists! And the VFX backgrounds are nicely done. This was the funk I needed to pick up my Monday morning!
Watching the 'credits' gave me a chance to hear her singing without 'distraction'.
@@terrylandess6072 i really loved her in this and her solo stuff is good but honestly stick to funk cause DAYUUUMMMMM
That’s the wildest part. Bootsy defined funky bass playing for decades, and when some younger gun so obviously and objectively shows him up he… features him on a solo album? That’s so cool it’s hard to believe.
@@gefiltefist2088 When you're as awesome as Bootsy, you don't have anything to prove. I honestly hope a lot of metal musicians who are getting up there in years start acting as conduits for new talent to carry on the old school ways. Maybe that alliance can finally break the screamo monopoly on metal radio.
no son muy bueno los efectos, seamos sinceros
How is it possible to have two bass playing legends in one jam and it not have too much bass?
Jammin' on the ONE, baby!
Wait till you hear what he did with Flea and Mono Neon! Bootsy been busy!
@@sirduffalot 😯
“ too much bass?” Is that actually possible on a Bootsy Collins record?
It’s all about the bass
Can’t have too much bass :)
She sounds like left eye! 😎 ❤️🙏🏿
Criminally underrated tune
I’ve just become a big fan of this lovely lady. She has the funk.
She’s so funky🧚🏾♀️👏🏽👏🏽
Shes got two different colored ****** EYES ******
Drunk driving kills. Please...stay sober on the road! The life you save might just be your own!
This is great! Fantaazma has a real hot Nina Hagen vibe!
Absolutely! I knew nothing about her prior to a few minutes ago right after I heard this track. My first thought was how did Nina Hagen get on this track ... and then I looked up Fantaazma. Ah, she's German ... now I get it!
Great minds think alike! I think she must have been an influence...
yep, with some Deeee-Grooovy moves
Love that Vibe
Thank you Randy!!!🥰❤The most beautiful princess Nina! Weeeeee! So glad to see someone that knew that! Nina is still the master though...have a happy day!😊
Never heard of Fantaazma. She's positively crackling with talent. The music's good. The visual effects are absolutely off the chart. Great job.
The Look On Fantaazma's Face Had Me Busting Out Laughing When Bootsie Collins Handed Her That Lolipop!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@Joshuagrant6192. It makes me laugh too. Every time I play that video I have to repeat that part a few times lol 😆
Flasbacks of Dee-Lite !
With a pinch of early Nina Hagen in the voice.
Bootsy is just too funky to ever stop.
Fantaazma is the love child Nina Hagen and Lady D. didn't know they'd had. What an incredible voice. What's even wilder is she's the third coolest thing about this jam.
Shes superb Bill I've checked out more of her stuff esp Lauter
The sax player is super funky! He should get his credits!
It's Branford Marsalis, credits are on the recording 💥
Funk master class
reminds me a little of the late great roy hargrove
Jeez. That girl is freakadelic to the core.
Patti's vocal sounded really great. Might want to explore that further !
agreed, I want to hear more of her. not sure about fantasma
@@lqr824 I like her. She's quirky and fun. I like the way she and Patti interact
I love how everyone else is all dressed up and Victor Wooten is just there chillin like a villain in his daily attire like he just stumbled onto the set and started killing it on the bass , reasons this man is one of my idols XD so groovy , keep on funking on baby!
I think funk is a lifestyle choice for Bootsy
It's like Vic just walked in off the street delivering an Amazon order of one case of FUNK.
I've never seen Bootsy not dressed like this
@@barfyman-dm6zx what about young bootsy playing for james brown
Sick song, sick bass groove, and Fantaazma dropping some Nina Hagen on us!
I caught that too. Love them both.
😅🔥🔥🔥
Nina Hagen. That's a blast from the past
@@dogtown1718 Maybe Fantaazma was Born in Xixax.
I was more into Lena Lovich
I graduated highschool in 1974, Kool and the Gang, Parliament Funkadelics The Commadores, Ohio Players, Brass Costruction, The Blackbyrds, James Brown and the JBs,The Dazz Band, The Kay Gees, Bazooka, Funk was everywhere. Curtis Mayfield, Sly Stone, Stevie Wonder, James Brown, and Issac Hayes, were the architects. Hell, l'll name every one of the songs the architects recorded to prove it. The 70s were the Golden Age of Funk. And Bootsy is still " doin it to death." Thank you. Almost forgot Joe Simon. Chaka Khan and Rufus.
8-25-24. Mandrill too!
Fantasma Been Doin Her Thang For Awhile Doin Her Thang..She is An Awesome Artist
We really need more funk bands in today's world. Thanks Bootsy!
Wooten and Bootsy - now THIS is a colab! I hope to hear more of that duo, it would be tremendous to hear them both live! And Fantaazma is great too, a bit weird in a positive way :) Cheers Bootsy, keeping the funk alive!
Combined bass power vibes with great talent up front 😃😃
Daaummmmm!!! Boots in his 70's and still jamming!!!
Well, here you go. ua-cam.com/video/UME8oP08lFk/v-deo.html
@@mattgowing YOU'RE A GOD DUDE THANK YOU!!
oh wooten oh bass? hell no wonder why it's so funky
Bootsy is still funkin after all these years. I never heard of Fantaazma before, but, now I'm glad I have.😍
Wow Fantaazma is killing it Bootsy brings the Funk!! 🔥🔥💃🏼
Bootsy has always brought out the funk ever since he was part of the original JBs he's no new jack
@@MusicLoverPearson that sho nuff shows 😎😎😎. Hella cool
Bootsy Collins it's the Master of the funk
Bootsy was there at the beginning of funk and he still sounds fresh and new whenever he releases a new track
I've never heard of Fantaazma until today, but this....... Slaps. Damn!
I can't find any information about her music, Other than she is German.
@Adrian you need help
You know when I'm Jaming its it's Doctor Dazz
This is a jam.
Fantaazma has an amazing Nina Hagen vibe in her.
Myself from ten minutes later... I wrote this before I found out she's also singing in german !!!!!
Fantaazma is pretty dope. Bootsy is always banging. Dude is a legend.
Wooten coming out of nowhere like he stumbled in was just icing on the cake
I’m a metal head all the way but man this beat had my foot tapping. Thumbs up man
Sooo cute 🥰
Funkalicious💯
Bootsy Collins does it again!!!! Can anyone say Deee-Lite 2.0, damn "The Groove is still in the House"!!!! The FUNK shall reign 4EVA!!!!!
Who the heck is Fantaazma and why am I in love. I fell in love with Lady Miss Kier back in the day & Dewdrops in the Garden changed my life and made me a become a dj. No one in the past 30 years has come close to putting out that kind of energy this girl comes close very cool to see her working with my man Bootsy who's older than my mom with alzheimer's but still rocking a bass like a funk master who has no idea what arthritis is. Also Bootsy mad props on that track with Kali Uchis & Tyler a few years ago been rocking that for years on some late night chill after last call vibe.
I like the lollipop girl she's a good rapper I like that
Vibes of Deee-Lite and Lady Miss Kier. Especially the Lady Miss Kier Dance Moves.
She‘s utterly amazing. She can spit fire and sing an opera. Her mimic game is unmatched. Gotta love her.
Word! I've been playing this on repeat and she is seriously growing on me. This is a hit!
!!!
@@sayitloud6660 Make sure you check out her other videos. It‘s insanely good stuff.
@@DavidLuther thanks man, I did take a look. She's a true artist!! Her and Bootsy make a dream team 😎😍🤩🥂✨
@@DavidLuther , who is she?
Listen......Fantaazma Goria is not only a Funkateer but she can SPIT, in Hip-Hop terms. She killed her rap verse!!!
The opening sound she makes is epic
Got that Nina Hagen vibe going
@@megistardust7584 YES!!! So glad to hear you say that. I believe Fantazma is from Germany as well.
Everyone in this jam kills it... From the horns to Boots/Fantasma . Victor's solo is beyond cool.
Perfectly said, thank you Bootsy!!! 🔥🔥
Makes me wanna dance!🔥🔥
I second that. Best jam to hit the web in a loooong looong time!
So cool 🔥

Dee-Lite! You're right the video gives me flashbacks
Not even close
@@user-ly4gy1iz2e sad rerun
no...just no
er, the video maybe, but the song is definitely not in the same class as Groove!
Oooooh that's nice. Nice Victor Wooten solo.
Awwwwww,.SNAP!,.............this is more like it! Kudos to Collins(now 70 years old!) for giving Wooten some of the bass solo spotlight in the video..
Fantasma Goria is from Gerrmany. The godfathers of funk bass,......Bootsy Collins and Larry Graham....still kickin'!
This is unbelievable
Her style kind of reminds me of left eye on this joint
2:28 victor wooten!!! dat made me smile so much when i saw him funkin with the bass!!!
Funkytazmatic.
Dayuum thats a fine collab in all ways.
Man that Alto saxophone 🎷 🎷 🎷 is in the house.
Branford!
I have seen Parliament Funkadelic 9 times... I need a tenth.
Incredible work.
She killed all of these the so called mainstream rappers.
I mean yeah. This takes talent, isn't retarded and sounds good. Not that hard to beat those degenerates.
Gotta love Bootsy...
Bootsy is 70 years old looking 30.
Bootzila bubba.
30 is a stretch for real LoL. More like 45 but that's still amazing though
He doesn't look that young. Get glasses
Awllat make-up n filtered lights
This might be the best song I have discovered all year. Get the funk out!
Wasn't entirely sure what I was going to be clicking into, but I was like "It's Bootsy Collins, so it must be good."
Bootsy never disappoints.
Video has a Grove is in the Heart vibe
I wish that Bootsy would share that Fountain of Youth water with me.
So glad I found this funk. Yes please. Amazing.
where did you find that lollipop and can i have one ?
so glad I found this awesome song
Groove is in the heart part 2?
That's the 1its da FUNK!!!
2:04, that dude is jamming!
What an incredible song!
Victor Wooten is a legend. Look him up! Good shit!
Bootsie is the grandmaster of funk
FULLL DEELITE VIBE LOVE THIS VIBE U GUS GOT
Wasn't expecting that voice! Nice!!!
Oh I love the funk outta this.
Wow! What? This takes me back to Parliament. Impossible!
Soooooo F***ing great!!!!
Somehow I knew Victor would show up!
BOOTSY still doing his THANG after all these years 50 yrs ago he was down with wth the original JBs
Victor and Bootsy...ok now we can turn this planet back around
This is pure musical treasure. Bootsy with Wooten and add some Fantaazma, fantastic.
😎Uhhh we got Vic with dem treacherous lick'z...🎵🎸🎶 🔥 Play on Bobba!!!👍🏿
I love that she gives a shout out to P funk and Dee lite. Very cool
I see the shout out to P-Funk (hip bone...), and to Sly. WHat is the reference to D-Lite, and are there any others?
Yes people, if you ant into Funk you shore will be after listening too this, Bootsy & Victor, perfect combination.😎
Never get tierd of this song. So well produced, and with the best musicians!
Y’all Boosty still throws down. And I did *not* expect a voice like that outta that little gal. Love this one. I’m adding this one to my “Shall there be funk or shall there be punk?” playlist.
Bootsy, yet again, puts the fun in funky!
This is my new favorite thing!
I love this.
This is so funked up ! I love it !
Fantaazma's got the funk
Omg !! I’m FUNKIFIED again, again , again ….. I need a BiG Bad Ass BOOSTER Shot to keep me goin!!
This is what I need ...some killer funk with new school artists taking the style into the future. Bootsy looks great and Wooten does that intense bass guitar sequence, it was bad ass. The girl has got some great dance moves and rhymes, very cute yet could raps circles around most of the current pop MCs.
I love everything about this.
Is it just me, or do all y’all’s cheeks rise into a smile tha second you see Bootsie and you know it’s about to drop? Yeah, you know that feelin’. I ain’t seen so much talent in one video in a long time, y’all servin’ everyone up with grits, dayyum!
Hey now bootsy still jammin..jamming...
Been listening to bootsy since 1977
