Absolutely nothing short of FABULOUS!!! Thank you Bootsy for having Larry Graham perform on this video, you two are the GREATEST bass players of all time.
I love it! What a smooth, funky vibe ! Uche, you're voice ..what a powerhouse. Larry rocked it and Bootsy...you are funky as ever. This one is gonna be a favorite!!
Larry Graham and Louis Johnson (Brothers Johnson) are/were two of the funkiest bassists of all time. Thankful Larry is still with us, and R.I.P. Louis Johnson. Your legacy lives on!
Love this song, the beat is outstanding, and Ur he voice is just amazing in this remix, Bootsy Collins is just phenomenal in doing this, Love me some him. Larry Graham is fierce on the Bass.
Yes! Two of the best bass players! Bootsy let the bass rest on this to give Larry much deserved space, but a dual bass number by these two would be epic!
all funk respect to the Sly and The Family Stone classic song "If you want me to stay" another great funky cover this one very special..It is great to know that SLY STONE played the bass on the orignal version...right on Larry Graham and Bootsy!!!!
The vocalist ads a modern R&B vocal touch and that break in the middle is FIRE. Of course, Larry Graham put his signature chops in and Bootsy and his trademark vocal smooths it all out. This should be a current top 10 hit!!!! I hear a touch of EWF too
@@chrisedwards3214 everyone always says it's Rusty. And it sounds like it's a lil bit. But it sounds a lil bit unpolished like Sly's playing in my opinion.
so good. I love how Bootsy works with SO MANY different artists. He's like a portal, direct from the minds of the people straight to the funky mind of the universe...
I'm glad to see Bootsy give props to Slippy Brick / Sly Stone the Man who change the course of Music 🎶 , as well as Larry Graham who change the course of how Bass Guitar is played !!!! There was music before Sly , and then there was music after Sly 👍 , I'm just Sayin !!
I wonder why Brandford Marsalis doesn't show in the video.. but dam... the funk is back in full force.. it's about time, I been waiting for something like this
I must comment on this again... I came here for Bootsy and Larry Graham, and Larry is put forward a lot, which is more than justified. His performance shines! But so do the others! Uché's leading vocals are great, and so are all the others. I should mention all, but Brennan Johns and Brandford Marsalis stands out on the brass. And the production value, the dynamics, how the song changes over and over, never gets repetitive. Great work! Should I try to find something that could be better? That is hard. The only thing that strikes me is that Bootys's lyrics are a bit toned down in the early parts (1.25), but that may be intentional, to leave space for the others until he is back at the end. Very enjoyable!
Larry Graham and Bootsy Collins in 2024!!!🤘🏾 Make America FONK AGAIN!!!🤘🏾😎✌🏾
I'm 64 yrs old and this is dope

Man Larry looks just like he did back in the 90s.
We need Larry and Bootsy on dual bass!
Yes! Two of the best bass players! Bootsy let the bass rest on this to give Larry much deserved space, but a dual bass number by these two would be epic!
I think that much funk would kill us all, but what a way to go !

all funk respect to the Sly and The Family Stone classic song "If you want me to stay" another great funky cover this one very special..It is great to know that SLY STONE played the bass on the orignal version...right on Larry Graham and Bootsy!!!!
Actually rusty Allen did, but sly wrote the bass line that's why he's got the credits
Amazing remake WITHOUT watering down the classic.
I'm HERE FOR IT!
The vocalist ads a modern R&B vocal touch and that break in the middle is FIRE. Of course, Larry Graham put his signature chops in and Bootsy and his trademark vocal smooths it all out. This should be a current top 10 hit!!!! I hear a touch of EWF too
Pure Funk
Larry shreds it just like he did in 72 on the original
Actually Rustee Allen played bass on the Fresh album
@@jeffroberts_tunes I was about to reply Jeff you're Right Brother! Larry was out at this point!
@@jeffroberts_tunes not according to Larry himself and Bootsy (he released an interview where he says he was nervous about asking Larry to do it)
I thought sly played bass on the otiginal

HOT DAMN GRAHAM!
How to cure 2020 with a good jam
Uche killed it in this remix
Damn, I need to check my expectations....First shot I saw of the man, I did not expect a golden voice emerging from those pipes
Sly Stone's spirit returned through Uche in this moment, this was amazing!
Dottor Funk!!!!!!

Badly need this on my spotify playlist
Magic Funk 🤩
Man, Bootsy is still bringing it! And Larry Graham is looking and playing tighter than when he was NPG.
This is a great song to vibe to and the bass is superb.

Nice effort. I hope it leads to people rediscovering Sly Stone.
