I can still remember the tv adverts for this episode from when i was a kid.."has dempsey finally met his match"?....kids at school were so hyped to see it lol
I remembered this one and the later one where they work together, I have fond memories watching these as kid of about 9/10 when they first aired! 80s tv and nostalgia at it’s best equals Minder, Alf Pet, only fools and Big Deal for entertainment
As I expected this is yet again the censored version of the episode. About 10 years ago I purchased a DVD collection that was released in Poland, watched the show many times as a part of my English learning routine, and I remember exactly that in the final fight Dempsey punches the Bogeyman about 4-5 times in the face before hitting with that final blow. He really beats him to a pulp, with more and more blood soaking from Bogeyman's face after each hit, and only then he does that last hesitated hit.
The opening scene was filmed at Woodside, South East London on what is now known as the brickworks estate. A group of us from school went down on the first night after they finished filming 😄
My favorite episode but its cut when Dempsey punches Lymon once as when first aired was 5 times. Some episodes are edited for some reason like Londons Burning great to see them back but they are cut.
Is the last part Filmed on the old gas works east Greenwich ? 02 Anybody know . And where he’s arrested in the car where Lyman says his final words any body know any more info. Greatly appreciated 👍🏻
By the time the show was written female police officers integrated with the males where still relatively knew (started mid 1970s) and even today less than 30 percent of the force in England is female. And firearms qualified police in GB is less than 10 percent of the force. Assuming equal distribution only 3 percent of the force is represented by Makepeace So it might well be a "Cagney and Lacy" situation where the two where the only female detectives as well.
Love Lymans signature tune whenever you see him, makes you want to be a badass yourself
But where could we find that sountrack?
Another classic episode Directed by Tony "NCIS" Wharmby. 👍
I like the old motors, lymons 2.8 capri ,makpeace's xr3i. proper 80s cars
Thirty years ago I was afraid every time I saw Lymon and that guitar riff. Now he is one of the coolest bad men to me.
💕 my favorite episode
nick brimble, excellent, and so underrated in his career......

Can you tell me a street name please as i can not find it on google maps?.
The boogeyman! i loved this villian as a kid lol
The ep that proved D&M was awesome. Shame they cut it so we don't see Dempsey pound Lyman to a pulp in the final scene as it was originally aired.

I know I watched this series first time round, I havnt remembered a single episode so far
Can’t have watched much of it then. There were several that were memorable.
That’s little John from Robin Hood prince of thieves lol 😂
dempsey's equal. If dempsey wasn't a cop he would have been a robber like lymon.nick brimble a very underated actor

Oversized, over used, over here - Makepeace and her cynical comments are a major reason to watch the show.
