@@Cochmazh the two reverbed notes at the end of the first bar of the interlude that sound like they clash but if it was played with perfectly harmonising notes it would not have the same effect and atmosphere. I’m not pitch perfect so I’d have to sit down and work it out if you want specifics.

@@DDieva Videos have fuck all to do with bands, imo. They're somebody else's vision and they're just something that's been kind of compulsory for their record labels pr departments since about 1981.
They are for completely disregarding unless it is the only opportunity you have to hear a song.
I gave this subject some thought quite a long time ago.
Fuck 'pop videos'. I giveth practically no fuck about them and neither should any other real fan of a band's music.
Videos are for babies, arty farty pussies and retards (unless it's the only way you have to hear the song).

@X Y I don't know about that, Eld, Monumension and Axioma are all very different, but Paradise is also a great band and you're right they have changed significantly... I think I prefer Enslaved's output just a little more, but it could go either way depending on the day :)

Been a fan since their Viking Black days. The evolution they had into Prog Black is astounding, and unique . It is hard to say that there would ever be a bad Enslaved album. Even though this reminded me of previous releases, vocals being combined brings variety, besides the obvious progressions during the song. i really enjoyed this, and it guarantees, at least for me, that this will be another gem added to their crownworthy discography. Well done. Cheers!
There's never been a BAD Enslaved record, true. But there have been ones that drag a bit more than others, while still being good. Like... I think RIITIIR is too bloated, even though it contains awesome work. It would be brilliant as a lean and mean 40+ min record. But okay, it's not MY but THEIR vision that is accomplished here. And I tend to think most of it is just splendid. Especially to your point: To follow their evolution is so much fun, and I think E is the best thing they've done in a long time!
There's no doubt that Enslaved is a great band:
One decade with only Black Metal with Only Norse lyrics and sometimes clean vocals (Obviously the 90's) and then, adding the Progressive stuff with more clean vocals, keyboards but still the spirit of the the original stuff.
And with this song: 😨 Amazing job for Mr. Sandoey with the drums and vocals, the rest ✊😀.

@@CesarSanchez-vy3sy Same here, dude. I don't like all of the stuff they're putting out. It's rare to find the perfect record / discography. But when Ihsahn or Borknagar hit the mark, they really do. :)
Much like Amorphis, Enslaved continues to ascend musically with the passage of time.
I love the shorter length of the song, personally, as it packs more of a punch in a shorter time-span. I know a lot of people love 12+ minute epics, but more songs like this is appreciated.
Since the first riff I found it very good. I still know very little about the band, but I already realized that it's a great band
They're a legendary band. I'm from the Caribbean, and I've been listening to them since their split album with Emperor, Hordanes Land. I highly recommend you check out their entire discography. So many of us have different favorite Enslaved album. So many of us have a different least favorite album (mine is Ruun). They're just an amazing band.

Not only is this song amazing but it's much better than I was expecting. Ivers cleans add a whole.new dimensions. I love how melodic this was. I get a big dark tranquility Vibe. This band can do now wrong and always get better and better

They are in my top 10 fav Norwegian bands. I think my number one would have to be Mayhem.
Top 3 Norwegian bands for me would probably be Borknagar, Enslaved and Windir.

If there's one band that I could buy any release they put out before hearing it that would be Enslaved.Very consistent band.Always keeping they're core roots but also evolving.For me UTGARD is another classic.

Utterly beautiful, I look forwards to the new album and seeing them on tour again.
The first of their singles to not truly knock the wind out of me. Still excited for the album as I'm a longtime fan and own all of their albums. I even did a TIER LIST on my channel raving about the discography. Mardraum is my personal fav.
Fan of 20+ years here: I really like it! It's recognizable, yet fresh. It's almost got a Solstafir vibe to it; the longing and melancholy of it. Very interesting. Can't wait to hear the full record! Keep up the awesome work, ye beardy bastards!

Enslaved's songwriting game is top notch. The chorus in this song is so beautiful from the guitar work to the vocals. I really like the new drummer too.

Yes, at their worst they are still listenable, and this is far better than their worst imo.
Below, Ruun, Axioma, mainly E - and this song is average, too. But Blodhemn, Riitiir, Sleeping gods and special Eld are masterpiece. They lose spark and their diversity, good ideas. this is also proved by this new material and coverart. After 2005, concerts lose enery too. Nevertheless, I'm always looking forward to their new album, mayby they suprise me. In not, i will sell it.
I only liked 1 track from In Times, and there's a couple other rather average albums. But they definitely have one of the most impressive discographies for any metal band ever, no doubt.

I believe this song is worthy of its praise. It's just simply wonderful. I think a lot of stuff that comes out today is average/so-so but you see people act like it's the most amazing thing they have ever heard in their entire existence. I think this song is actually the real deal. A solid song all around.
