- Initial thoughts on the Tikka Roughtech .223Rem. It’s hard to beat the Tikka line of rifles when it comes to their smooth bolt throw and overall light weight of their rifles. The Tikka Roughtech comes with a Fluted bolt, an enlarged bolt knob. A fluted and threaded barrel with a muzzle brake to suit.
Good short review mate. No BS and well paced and edited etc. Very accurate little rifle.

Tikka t3x is perfect
I almost agree. Throw some pillars and bottom metal on it instead of the plastic, and a Limbsaver recoil pad, and then its perfect lol.

hmmm, lovely rifle, bolt sounds so smooth. i have an old t3 varmint and love it. super accurate etc. just wish it were a touch lighter. but, there have been times when the number of shots on a cull appreciates the extra thick barrel.
Absolutely It’s hard to beat a Tikka action! I chose the roughtech for its weight only 3kg!
Just got my license in VIC, this will prob be my first rifle. Looks like good choice 👍🏼

Wideland and roughtech the same ? How’s the accuracy of wideland in 7mm RM? Is the muzzle brake effective ?
@@Canuck21530 yes break does reduce some recoil. After testing ammo my rifle lkes just about everything i put through it, but i am getting my best groups with the barnes tsx and the berger hybrid hunters, my best group was 5/8 at 100 with the hybrid hunters, and im just a hunter not a target guy, the gun is way more accurate then i am, highly recommend any tikka ya just cant beat them imo. My issue now is incant find any berger ammo.

If I didn't have a fabulous CZ 527 in .223 that's sub moa with cheap ammo Tikka would be at the top of my list in .223.

Great video thanks! Just got my roughtech couple days ago in .270win. How many rounds did you shoot before sighting for barrel break in. And at how many yards did you sight it ? Hope you can answer !
Thank you mate, I didn’t do any run in process just clean the rifle before shooting.
I zero all my center fire rifles at 100m.

Depends, in some models Tikka beats SAKO's counterparts 100 to 0 though you are generally right.
Is the trigger guard plastic like other light models to save weight?
Correct it would appear to be the same as any T3x
