  • The Lacrimosa (Latin for "weeping/tearful"), also a name that derives from Our Lady of Sorrows, a title given to The Virgin Mary, is part of the Dies Irae sequence in the Roman Catholic Requiem Mass.
    The Requiem in D minor, K. 626, is a requiem mass by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791). Mozart composed part of the Requiem in Vienna in late 1791, but it was unfinished at his death on 5 December the same year.
    English Translation of the text:
    Full of tears will be that day
    When from the ashes shall arise
    The guilty man to be judged;
    Therefore spare him, O God,
    Merciful Lord Jesus,
    Grant them eternal rest. Amen.
