Sorry, fast food…due to your low quality food and high prices, we’ve just decided it’s not worth our hard earned money.

I heard a prophetic word from God that KFC is selling chicken from deformed chickens and McDonald's is using beef from sick cows. Bon appetite 🤙

Wow, I feel badly for these restaurants. The COVID scare was a high scam in which pharmaceuticals got extremely rich while businesses went under and lots of people lost their incomes.

My wife and I enjoy splitting a 1lb rib-eye steak, baked potatoes, etc at home for way less than junk at even fast food restaurants. Service and food quality at steak houses, Red Lobster, etc has gotten so bad we refuse to go to them even for special days(Birthdays, anniversaries, holidays). It just isn't worth the gamble any more, let alone paying the prices that these places charge now-a-days.

Same here. As a 77 yoa widower living alone, I used to eat out alone and would usually do it with fast food but reward myself by having a good steak or lobster meal once a week. During the pandemic, I started eating my fast food meals at home. But then the economy went South and the steak and sea food restaurants jacked up their prices to survive and the waiters got so rude one would think all the French came over. Then I got serious about learning to cook better and it has become a hobby and keen interest for me. I now eat better, feel better, have extra money and even cook better. When and if things return to normal, if they ever were, I am not coming back to any 18 dollar burger or 50 dollar steak from some pimply, pierced, tattooed, rude, no suave generation Z waiter. Close all the damn restaurants.

50 years ago my son worked for a short time at a fast food specializing in tacos, spitting in the beans, putting dead bugs in the mixture blowing the nose on food was a common practice among the employees and the franchisees were aware of the problem....It’s been 50 years since I frequented a fast food.

I’ve driven to these places when times were good and I’ve thought, how have they stayed open? They’re dumps, the service is terrible, the food, isn’t good. It was a place to go when you were broke. It was a place you went when you needed a job as a kid, and it was a great learning experience. My mom got a night off from cooking a couple of times a month. She’d take us to Mickey D’s, get us each a burger, small fries and one large coke with three straws. Refills were free. Now, it’s similar to the cost of a sit down meal with your own server. With better service, so they’ve done it to themselves with the costs of running the franchise, the properties they sit on are extremely valuable. Property taxes go up, and before you know it, so does the cost of everything else. Now we are paying $20 for a burger.
It was inevitable, instead of focusing on their customers wants and needs, they’re more focused on the fees and the property values. And now we see what happens, they go under, they lost focus.

Every government you have had is your problem. US spends more money on invisible enemies and ingnores its people. Those in power profit while you all suffer. The rich keep you poor to fight their wars to protect their wealth while telling you that their enemy will take your freedom.

Those saying that now people will eat more healthy at home? I’m not as optimistic
I reckon people will either look elsewhere, or they will get lots of microwaved / boxed foods at supermarkets.
Very few people cook nowadays especially in the west

Maybe if the restaurant industry got on the side of renters helping to stamp down unfair rents people would be able to afford a night out! Rents have sky rocketed in last 3 years EVERY WHERE. In addition rents fuel the push for higher wages for workers.

Its time for Mc Donalds to go out of business and take their high priced food with them. I hope, I hope, I hope! I havn’t bought anything from Mc Donalds for years and I am not going to go back now! I don’t like that company or their food which I consider to be greasy high calorie krap wrapped in paper. Good bye slow food, poor quality, and high berger prices! When I go out to eat, I go to a real restaurant now.

    • @tikihutdweller5944

Thing is McDonald's will last forever because all the other restaurants will go out of business before they do. Leaving them the only choice for food. It will be them or nothing.

Krispy Kreme might be going out of business? Last time I went to a Krispy Kreme was in Pigeon Forge, TN. I paid $5.64 (including tax) for three (3) glazed donuts. That comes to $1.88 each. (I was expecting it to be expensive, but not that much.) Yes, we could have gotten a dozen for about $12.50 (plus tax), but even that would have been well over $1.00 per donut. I remember when I was a child in 1964 my family bought a dozen Krispy Kreme glazed for $0.60 ($0.05 each). According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics CPI calculator, that $0.60 in 1964 dollars would today be the equivalent of $5.99 in 2024 dollars. In other words, Krispy Kreme is charging well more than double what inflation would call for. And they wonder why people aren't patronizing them like before.
