    That tip about not sweeting while fire is lid, was exactly what I needed to know to understand why my hominy ended up waterish even with the thickening agent.
    Love to revisit all our caribbean recipes to get back to roots. Thanks from Costa Rica!

    ❤️❤️❤️❤️🥥I LOVE YOU GOODIE ❤️I make it for the first time today because my niece love it. I used fresh coconut 🥥 milk 🥛 and I use a little cornmeal 🌽to thicken the porridge 🥣👍then I used a small amount of the grated coconut 🥥 in. I used all the ingredients you mentioned to used. 😋I can tell you it’s the bomb 🥣TASTY AND ALL. Thank you goodie😘🇯🇲mi loike the patois too✌️

    I grew up eating cornmeal mush here in the U.S., but I've never seen a dish like this. It sounds delicious! Can't wait to try it....especially to see how the bay leaf tastes in there.

    Did you know to make hominy they use lye to process the corn.
    But l only remember that. My grandmother dry the field corn then crack it . Does anyone remember how the corn is done

      you can use flour, but I prefer that cornstarch because it is lighter in taste

    Cho man.....do u know that this is my favorite porridge. But mi cyah mek it. Too much step goodie. My jcan cuzzi lives in Antigua and was here in Toronto for the summer. She only made it one time...kmt. Now she gone back a week now....I could jus bawl mi sey. Now here u are wid mi porridge....like really!!!?? But mi still nah try dwl. Looove it...thanks for sharing Jules!! U recipe dem always jus tan good. Pupa Jesas...n u use di cornstarch man....yessssss. cyah tek di flour..yuk.

    I always thought it was made with full cream milk, not coconut milk. I’ve never made it, so I don’t know. I was a kid and I only eat 😂😂😂
