Hate to be that guy but the UA-camrs who do this full time need the revenue from sponsors and merchandise to keep the lights on most of the time. UA-cam Adsense pays extremely poorly.
Good to see a young man with discipline and who can think outside the box absolute ideal living accom for a student well done fella you will go far in life you seem very genuine and clear headed and 100k views on this vid you are smashing it fella :)
Hi Ed, Just a few tips for you. DO NOT use metal on a non stick pan, 1, fks the pan and 2, you eat the teflon coating.. Solution is to go to the pound shop or alike and get wooden/plastic utensils. Now onto the good stuff, top marks for making a cheese sauce from scratch mate (well done Mum n dad) however i would say, when shopping get a saucepan/milk pan (spout) for making your sauce, when you have made the roux, pour a drop of milk into the roax and let it heat up (or use warm milk) as it mixes 100% better with no humps (no whisk needed) until the desired consistency is reached, add cheese, then awesome Colemans mustard and black pepper to taste.. Much respect for adding mustard :). P.s great video and keep up the good work. Oh and Tesco is way cheaper than Waitrose is and worth the drive.
I'm a mum of 5 with a son your age in college as well and I just loved seeing you actually cooking a meal (no matter how simple) from scratch! Your videos are edited nicely, and are very interesting and upbeat.Your parents must be so proud of you and your all around maturity and talent. I am subscribing and would love to see more of your daily van-life routines. Wishing you a happy holiday and many blessings in the new year ahead!
Your place looks so cozy! After all my years of living, I’ve come to realize that the most important things about having a place is that’s it’s clean, comfy, peaceful and cozy. No matter how big or small it is…. #GoodLiving
Its nice when its windy/raining outside and the vehicles is rocking, very comforting. I dont have a choice but now that Ive been doing "vanlife" 5 years I like it so much I doubt I will ever leave it, my build is a 2.4x7 meter truck though so loads of room for anything.
Nice looking dinner, Ed. Good cooking. Didn’t think it was an unhealthy meal - well above the quality and nutritional standards of many other students, I would expect! You could steam/boil some veggies when you are cooking the pasta. You could get a steel/silicone steamer baskets to sit over your pan.
You have good cooking skills…way better than when I was in college. Would like to hear more about where your recipes and food experiences originate. Thanks for sharing.
As a computer geek, I saw the Lian Li A3 and just started nodding. Fantastic case for stuffing in a bunch of components while only taking up a small amount of space. I'd normally be concerned about airflow, but that mesh side panel lets it breathe super-easily. Good on ya for finding a way to still click heads. :) I'll also echo the concerns that multiple others have brought up - metal utensils on Teflon is pretty bad, but you should be able to pick up some wooden or silicon utensils (if budget allows) and have a much better time of things. But in terms of technique - Way better than anything I would have scrounged together in my college days! I'll be keeping my eye out for your content - You've got something good going here.
I really liked this video mate! I watch a decent amount of these types of van life videos. I can tell you tried your best to make everything look great and had some nice edits and cuts in the video. I hope to see more of your content. Could not hit that subscribe button fast enough! Cheers mate and good luck with your journey
Great video! You've got a new subscriber! Was lovely seeing a familiar campus in this video, for future meals there's a great little co-op like 5 minutes down the road where me and my partner always used to grab ingredients when they lived on campus we also used the tesco express in the petrol station like a 10 minute walk away!
Just found your channel enjoying it mate. Great way to save cash. Love the fact you game and stream from the van. Something I want to do eventually from a van. Owned several over the years and converted. need to get myself another van and get out there
Van seems cozy, dinner looked deliciously evil. Thanks for the tutorial in uk grocery! Very interesting to me as someone who wishes she lived across the Pond instead of upstate New York 😎
Hello from the other side of the pond, hope all is well in the UK for you, your van looks great and hope life is treating you well man, wish i could live life like you van lifers
Your video came up on our recommended - great vlog! We often click on and off videos, however yours kept us interested till the end, loved it. I now want mac & cheese 😅
huge agree on the SU shop being useless - aldi is the nearest supermarket to campus :) even the tesco express will have more options+ a cheaper meal deal
nice looking mac and cheese there, if you want to make it a tiny bit healthier throw a handful of frozen peas and sweetcorn in about a minute or two before you finish. Glad to hear someone is financing some silicon utensils. all the best to you.
@ you really know how to cook!! That roux looked so perfect and then all that added cheese.. you don’t know a restaurant. You’re your own chef quality meal-maker!! ;) Great content.
Like your video, you should make a video since you like video game with your friends online I would like to see that and if course like to see more as you go with your buddies to the pubs chilling, drinking and play dart enjoying the day as you concentrating your education.. hey a question, fellow fps gamer and nomadic individual. Just wondering how you manage getting a decent wifi connection for gaming in the van... do you just park near a router with a 6ghz band? lol :)
I have a daughter in her 2nd year of uni and I appreciate it's not everyone's cup of tea but I was laughed at when I suggested she buy a van, I see her rent bill and living expenses and 100% think you are on to a winner. Really hope you succeed in UA-cam and in your studies!
Same! I have a son in his third year and has one more left to do! Over £42,000 in accomodation alone it will be!😮 This would have been great. It’s a pity universities don’t make small sites with hook ups for this. He’d have loved his own space.😊
Where are you? I love your British accent! Do you enjoy living in your Van ? Do you have 24 hr day gyms to exercise and shower? I am so thinking about it living in Alabama , on the Gulf Coast . Nice and warm to hot most of the time! Be safe✌️😎
Hey quick silly question where did you get the table you use on your bed...I'm not in the UK..I'm in Bulgaria building my van currently, but it's just what I'm looking for... Thanks
Yooo no way. I am a UEA student thinking hard about making this happen for next year, my last. Houses are stupidly expensive to rent and I've been wanting to kit out a van for years. Bizzare seeing all the familiar sites of UEA/Norwich in a vanlife video. What are the logistics of vanlife as a student? How many places are there in Norwich that you can go to park free/cheaply overnight? (One I have found for daytime is the Colney Lane car park by the John Innes Centre - the machine has been broken since last year so nobody can pay to park there, or if they can nobody does. Don't know if overnight would work but I don't see why not, security traipse around there sometimes though so maybe a huge ass van would be recognised quite quickly). Would you recommend the vanlife as a UEA student or has it been more trouble than it's worth? Best Wishes! Edit: Now that I think about it, I am 99% sure I saw your van parked up in the lay by outside the church just oustide the UEA village a couple nights ago, maybe Monday? I remember seeing the vents/solar on top of the van and thinking 'man I hope that can be me next year'. I spot converted campers around a lot more now that I'm more into the idea 😅.
Hi there :) Glad to find a fellow UEAer here. Norwich is a pretty good place for vanlife, it’s not particularly tricky to find places to park. I would personally recommend it but it depends so much on your personal circumstances. As for the van you saw, that’s not me! There is another very similar van that is often in the same area as me, their van is a bit bigger and has black rims :)
Hi mate :) The pc uses about 60w at idle and max 240w but usually around 200 when gaming. An xbox will always be more power efficient, but I already had the pc so made sense to use it :) Just had to get a smaller case lol

yes, either use wood or silicone when cooking and cleaning a non stick pan or use full metal. absolutely need to avoid abrasive anything on non stick

Good idea!! Thanks
Roots7 flasks or water bottles keep hot water for vanlife over 12 hours still hot for tea next morning
Do the same with boiling water from an evening cup of tea. Makes a good hot water bottle.

This is actually a great idea for university students. Instead of paying for housing.
I agree :)
Sure, cause you get a van with a setup for free. And you get free gas/diesel. LOL
@ smart ass, depending on the university, you’d be paying way more than that for housing.
