Barry Gibb the lead singer of the bee gees was THE BEST MICHAEL JACKSON'S FRIEND, they have one song together, Bee Gees are muuuuch more than disco , and for many people , the best band all time.
The Bee Gees were a beast when it came to vocals. I remember having the Saturday Nite Fever album as a kid. Have you checked out the video from the baby brother Andy Gibb? It’s called Shadow Dancing . Was a big hit for him.
Bee Gees are awesome. Disco was around way before in the underground club scene in the early 7os. Popped its head up for a few years in pop culture and disappeared back into the club scene were it morphed into house music... the rest is history.
@@andrewvincent7299 you know, I’ve heard that before. Don’t really think it’s true. If you look at the massive amount of R&B, disco releases and hits in the year before December 1977, the solution is quite different. I think disco had leveled off, possibly., but definitely not dead. Lots and lots of disco hits in 1977. I think what SNF did was send disco into the stratosphere where it probably would not have gone. It also may have avoided the “disco sucks“ crap w/out SNF…great movie though…The quality of disco in 78, 79 and 80 definitely declined. Disco was evolving into edm/house music anyway…
Just remember that tThe Bees Gees are much more than that. They Started out in 1958 where they came up with their name. Barry was 12 and Robin and Maurice were 9 at the time. Infact they started before that. Their first live performance was at a theater in Manchester UK in 1955. Barry was 9 the twins 6. At the time they were called The Rattlesnakes. They had their first number 1 in Austrailia in 1966 with Spicks And Specks and their first UK number 1 in 1967 with Massachussetts. Their first number 1 in the US was How Can You Mend A Broken Heart in 1971. Barry (the one with the Falsetto voice, infact Robin can sing higher but not with the same control) is the only one still alive and his latest album released January 8 2021 went number 1 in the UK. So after their first number 1 in 1966 55 years later he still going strong, now 74 years old.
The Bee Gees going to the USA made them go from being great singers to great stardom! They have so many good songs, but the disco songs from Saturday Night Fever propelled them into the stratosphere! I miss them being together. Thank you for helping us relive some songs of the disco era.
Good video, Disco music really never went away, it just changed formats and became synth pop and house music, Disco evolved like any other genre the disco 4 to the floor beat was great for mixing records in the clubs so it became an endless party, but the Saturday night fever theme was over commercialized and before long you couldn't go anywhere without hearing about disco the rock artist switched to a disco format and upset alot of people which lead to disco demolition night in 1979. So the record companies changed the name from disco to synth pop or pop. To me a good song which is an 80's synth pop song or disco is jump by the pointer sisters. I'm really glad y'all enjoyed that song keep it up.
Awesome reaction guys...would really love you to show her "Too Much Heaven" from them...yous will hear one of the Greatest falsetto voices ever from Barry Gibb...the official video is Classic..💯🔥...New Subscriber here👌
Loved the reaction. (I've always loved the bee gees😊). I'd love for you to react to Sammy Davis Jr. singing "Mr. Bojangles". And anything Michael of course :)
You should have done the video with John Travolta dancing from Saturday Night Fever. Try their other really beautiful songs, "Too Much Heaven" and "How Deep Is Your Love". Then try them doing the other side of love with "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart" and "Love So Right". Disco the music of inclusion. Young, old, large, slim, black, white, male, female, straight, LGBTQ, rich, poor, it didn't matter. All were welcome to the music of youth, love, and fun. That is why there was so much hate, and for some reason it still lingers.
Barry Gibb here uses the talent of his falsetto voice, the soft high notes. They used it a lot, especially in their love songs. In the more upbeat songs (like Staying Alive) they used their head voices. The perfect harmony they had made them incredible popular for decades.
Excuse me. DISCOEY is not a word. I’m old school. Grew up in the 70’s. Yay. Disco was phenomenal! Too many millennials put EY in their words. Just sayin. Not a Troll. Have a terrific day. 😀😀🎶🎶🎶🎶 Peace.
BeeGees harmonies were something else. Keep up the videos y’all 👍 If you want some amazing vocals check out some Journey live videos. Steve Perry is magnificent 👌
The bee gees didn't really consider themselves disco. They were just put in that category. They have been making music Way before the disco era. Great video though, love it !!!
This turned up in my feed, so I watched your reaction. I would have subscribed but after checking, you appear to have gone 'quiet'. Nothing in 7 months? I hope you're both OK 😢. I would love to join the fam if you return. I'll be checking back now & again. REALLY, REALLY hope you're back soon as I'm both a MJ and Bee Gees fan.
Is it disco? In disco, you are listening for the "four-on-the-floor" beat most of all. The joke back then was that the beat (a bass drum on 1, 2, 3, AND 4) is so obvious "even white people can dance to it." In a more subtle vein, however, it's fascinating how many big disco hits were written in a minor key. A minor key? Isn't disco supposed to be "happy?" Well, disco had its roots in disenfranchised communities, such as the gay and black (and especially gay-black) communities of New York City. It's fun to get together and dance the night away, but it was always tinged with some acknowledgement that things still had a ways to go.
U guys should react to other than music. I think that will be a great idea. Like you guys can react to a series, for example Dragon Ball super or avatar the last Airbender and The legend of Korra
C’mon guys you need to pick it up a bit, all these personal picks of your’s are not getting the views..!!! You can’t go from double digit thousands of views for MJ stuff to scrapping 500+ for obscure country and western vids. You gotta give the people what they want. 🤷♂️
And I’m not talking about the Bee Gee’s btw, there a great group, but they have way better songs then More Than a Woman. 🤔. You have a great channel and you guys are great but we need some better content please. 🙌

Barry Gibb and MJ were the best of friends - MJ was the godfather to Barry’s son - Michael Gibb.
The BeeGees literally got cancelled for being too good. The amount of hits we couldve had if the 1970's generation werent bums.

Don't forget disco was pretty much dead when Saturday Night Fever came out and because of that movie it made another resurgence for a year or so
