    As someone who's been using After Effects for years and is new to Fusion, I gotta say I find this WAY EASIER and faster to accomplish than having to open up Mocha within AE. And it tracks a whole lot faster! I don't know what it is about Resolve, but it just runs and calculates things so much faster than Premiere does. Not to mention everything is under one hood!

    Good Stuff, Change the blend mode on the reflection though. And instead of cropping the replace screen do something with it to get a soft edge, what ever work flow or effect will let that happen.
    Oh and with the reflection, if you don't track it but, instead use a the screen replace to make an alpha you can then draw the reflection bigger than the screen. Then when the shot or screen moves it will shift a little the way a reflection should. Sometimes this makes a perfect illusion, other times you may need to add a few key frames to the reflection node to make it move a little differently.

    😂😂😂 The phrase 'the bee's knees' was originally an 18th century fanciful phrase which referred to something that didn't exist. It was used as the kind of spoof item apprentices would be sent to the stores to fetch - like tartan paint or a left-handed hammer. This meaning is no longer used - Great video!

    What if a hand or fingers crosses over?
    For example I had 2 clips I shot, I put tracking marks on one on a phone. in one scene and my arm passes over a couple times
    Another I thought the spot was above my head and it was more most the scene, but I crossed in front of it with my hand and head a couple times. I didn't think I would need a green screen since I didn't think I would pass in front and I was shooting myself.
    I tried to mask over and track them, but the issue I had was figuring out if it was even possible to stop at a certain point, move the mask or cut it out for those handfuls of frames, but not totally change the shape of my corner pin. So I would example get to the part where my arm crossed and tried to move the corner pin and thought it was now closer to the shape I wanted, the rest of the track would be in that shape and look weird.
    Similar to changing from clip to frame in the color tab, but in fusion.
    I ended up in a rush just cutting the track and using a freeze frame and then cutting between the two, but it meant it was static.
    Something like that if it hasn't been shown is what I want to learn.

    Hey Casey, maybe you (or someone else) can help because Fusion is driving me absolutely nuts. Here's the situation:
    I'm talking about a conclusion, and pointing out three things. All three things need to pop up on my screen. Those are: "Cheap", "Lightweight", and "Quality".
    So far, I tried to add three texts, then make compound clips, then make a fusion clip etc. Obviously I messed that up so it didn't work. Then I thought: Why not build it in Fusion. So I got the video clip, and made it a fusion clip. In Fusion, I added three texts. I've also added a tracker. So now the situation is:
    Text 1
    Text 2
    Text 3
    Media in ======Tracker=======Media out
    Then, I needed to transform the text. Because: "Let's make it more complicated shall we?"
    So the situation is this:
    Text 1 > Transform (1)
    Text 2 > Transform (2)
    (Both transform are now combined in a merge node (1))
    Merge node (1) goes into the Tracker(1)
    Media in(1) ===== tracker(1)=====Media out(1)
    So far so good, it's doing EXACTLY what I need.. but here's the problem.....
    I can't get that third text added and/or to work. No matter what I try. It's driving me absolutely insane. Apperently I can't create a third text, with a transform node(3) and then have it connected to the merge node. When I do that, I don't see any of the text anymore. Why can't I add three texts to one merge node? How can I solve this?
    Because what I've done is: Create a third text (Quality), create a Transform (3), and I wanted that to go into the Merge (1) and then the merge goes into the tracker but it just won't work.
    TLDR: How the .... do I add a third text in a fusion composition which also uses the tracker node that I've made?

    • @CaseyFaris
      @CaseyFaris  3 роки тому

      Add a second merge right after your one combining the two texts. That new merge becomes your big comp with all of them that you can pipe into the tracker.

    Just a question about the lift and gain corrections: wouldn't the screen itself be the brightest part of that image, in its bright spots? If so, why match it with ambient light? I can understand the concept for the darks, but I don't know about the bright part...

    • @albertolawncare5563
      @albertolawncare5563 3 роки тому +1

      the screen may emit light but in a video shot unless the monitor is at max brightness with a bright overall image it doesn't look realistic that a computer brightens the room. In this example, most of the image he is superimposing is dark, so it wouldn't give off the same kind of light splash as the green screen did (on the keyboard). Personally, if it was a bright clip i was superimposing, I would color correct the keyboard area to match the screen (white, green, whatever).
      Another option, way more advanced, is to have a copy of the same mediain (of the screenshot), flip it upside down, reshape it and overlay it onto the keyboard, then play with various color, saturation, and blending modes to get an effect that is more detailed. This would also be useful for the weird reflections that might come from (for example) if the media on the monitor is actually a video clip. as the video plays on the screen, a reflected and muted/blended version plays out on top of the keyboard. Hope that helps!

      if they are all the same dimensions, you can prepare a fusion template for your photos. Aside from any adjustments you might want to make with a color node, you'd only need to use keyframes and the mediain (the additional images to appear on your footage). Then, any time you want to add a new photo, you pull down the template, add the new image, and then tie it into the footage at the spot you want. The template also gives continuity for the overhead spot.
      Example - you can use a mask layer at 0 width in frame zero and 100% width at frame 2 seconds after, with the photo under the mask layer. Then for the same keys you can also use the fade or blend sliders to make it appear over the 2 seconds (but only within the mask). Want it to look like a printed photo? put a white background with a shader node on it for some drop-shadow and place these behind the photo as well. (make sure the mask fits where you want it.
      The thing with these transitions is, it's easier to imagine the end result and then move backward in the process to determine how to display when it is being played forward.
      hope this helps!

    Bees, like all insects, have six sections to their legs: the coxa, trochanter, femur, tibia, metatarsus, and tarsus. Each is connected by a joint and the one most like a knee is between the femur and tibia. ... Of all of these, the only one actually found in nature is the bee's knees, so perhaps that's what's so special.🤣🤣🤣
