Hey brother, I want to do that on the edge of my driveway, minus the pipe, and not quite as wide. I’d run it out to the street (we live in the desert in the middle of nowhere, so nobody should complain about how or where I run the water - I hope. Plus, it only rains like once every 3 yrs. not really, but you get it). What did you use to shape the swale or channel or whatever it’s called? - the “u” shape? Yours is the only one I found that wasn’t made by some crazy machine in another country or wasn’t some expensive form you insert or some drainage “system”. Did you just form it with hand tools? I was trying to think of a way to make a screed with the shape I wanted at the bottom so I could just drag it along, but I thought maybe there was a super easy way I was missing. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
A shovel and hand tools is all, and somewhat of a dry mix. I believe I used the curve on the bottom of a spade shovel initially to give it some contour, then finished it off with some troweling.
@@DavidJones-sw7jp OK so no magic method. I was thinking of getting a length of 4" or 5" diameter pvc pipe (few feet long I guess) and just pushing it into the edge of pad as it starts to set up and then do like you did with a trowel thanks
nice job. short and to the point video too.
i don't understand why it isn't code to grade the location to drain before building house
How did you form the swale? Is there a tool (I’ve been looking everywhere)
