- The Belgrade-Novi Sad section of the 350-km Belgrade-Budapest railway was inaugurated on Saturday in Serbia's Novi Sad. Once finished, trains will run at a speed up to 200 km/h between Belgrade and Budapest, bringing the Balkans closer to central Europe. #GLOBALink

Serbia needs to be well connected to the grid, otherwise there will be no economic progress! It is good that Hungary is involved. I believe China wanted to provide an alternative to the nations located in the south-eastern region with the rail services from the Greek port of Piraeus to central Europe. This will lessen the logistics costs for nations located in the part of Europe. With better and cheaper connectivity, it is hoped that people will concentrate on developing on economic exchange instead of weapon exchange!!

The Russian company built a section from Stara Pazova to Novi Sad (about 48 km), and from Belgrade to Stara Pazova (about 37 km), the works were performed by Chinese companies!

Infrastructure is key
At least we get some good news out of this uneasy world.
This is a very important event for both Serbia and Hungary to improving their trade and cut down travel time between the 2 countries!

Hungary needs an access to a sea port to increase trade with the world and than it economy can depend less on EU. If the railway line with Serbia can extend to reach a sea port, it will greatly benefit both countries. It is just like Laos of South East Asia. Laos is a land lock country just like Hungary and Serbia. A new railway line was connected between China and Laos. Trade and travelling immediately boomed! Initially, many Laos neighbors were not too eager about the new line connecting them with Laos, but once the railway line between China and Laos is completed and all the neighbors wanted to join in to link up with that line. Laos will benefit greatly because Laos is now the central transport hub with all the neighboring countries once they joined up!
Same for Hungary, if this railway line can be extended and branch out to Hungary's neighbors, Hungary will benefit as the transport hub of that region.

Thank you for the info and happy know all these developments in Serbia and the neighbors! I feel sad for the Ukrainians, but they must get rid of the fascists in their government that created all these mess and destruction for the country! Ukraine had some of the most corrupted government in Europe and that is why the common folks of Ukraine are some of the poorest in Europe.
If EU continue to allow the fascist to strive in Ukraine, it is not surprised that these Ukrainian fascist will cross into EU and do the same in Europe! Many of Azov battalion members had escape from Mariupol and who knows where they will go from there.
NATO should be discarded for the good of Europe! NATO is a troublemaker and creates tensions and wars as the US used it to their benefit! The Russo-Ukraine war is caused by the US when they wanted to use NATO to control Europe! Good that Russia is using rubles for natural gas so that EU will wake up that US is not their 'Friend' but a trouble maker! I don't blame the average Americans, they also suffered under their own government and life is America is becoming hell while the super-rich continue to sponsor dirty and self-serving politicians and pay media to influence the people in the US and the world.
Hoped that Americans will too wake up to realised that their own politicians and the main media were self-serving a$$holes.
These railways will attract a lot of tourists to that regions provided there is no war.
