You are comparing oranges and apples. All lies and staged "tests". Dislike. Try some honesty.
What oranges and apples? The same behaviour of the systems in tests and real conditions are oranges and apples? Try some arguments instead of accusations.
this man is just roasting every car brand, and i love it

Yeah, that’s great to watch how is in real life vs rolls.
They should try the same tests without 'anti-spin' activated.. It will be like driving another car in those condisions. Anti-spin is nice to have on the road but when doing slow speed offroading you will get further without
@@bboyx95 It depends what you understand under the "ani-spin" naming. That may be power cut, brake intervention or both.
I never doubted you for a minute!
I was always convinced these roller tests would reflect real world situations.
Obviously there is more to offroading than just torque distribution between the wheels such as ground clearance, low ratio, choice of tyres, etc; but it's still a very significant part of it and the roller tests clearly demonstrate which 4wd systems are stronger in that area.
Reassuring to see some direct comparisons, good video.
I bought a 2017 Suzuki Vitara partly because of watching how well it performs on roller tests vs other 4x4s in the same price category.
Good choice.

Suzuki the best 4x4
Ok but which of the 4 selectable modes was the Mitsubishi in? Guarantee it wasn't lock.
It was Lock. You can find full test on my channel, we checked all modes.
Just as it is made with the rollers, each supposed car that passed the situation should have been seen doing the same, same speed, same measurement of positions, etc, etc. Those two cars after the CRV, is quite obvious that climbed the slippery slope because of their speed, not because of their 4 wheel reaction, and I'm sure this CRV version will do it worse than the others, but still no a "real test comparison", good work with all other videos on same rollers. Thanks.
You can see full test on totalcar.hu They did a few attempts with CR-V, all failed. Test included about ten cars, Honda was the only one that failed before competition even started.

The AWD in that CR-V is more like excess weight than a feature. If it can't provide enough torque in a real world scenario, why it even exists? It's not even a performance AWD, as it's front biased. At least they fixed it in the newer model
there's a test where the 3rd gen of the crv to the same test and did it well. with the two front wheels up.

Terenowka bez blokady jak kobieta bez cyca.
Zatem była to rzeczywista sytuacja, która tak samo wygląda na rolkach 🙂 ua-cam.com/video/OIgWlVn4dcI/v-deo.html
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers Dokladnie tak. Super odcinek. Dzielna terenowka :D
4 matic is the best, because it can simulte like 3 locked differentials with 4 ets. The only 1 System which can do this. The Ml has this system since 1997.
It can remote 60 % of the whole power to only 1 wheel with grip.
Tens of cars can simulate three locking diffs.
That's why they make locking differentials. Without it... you are stuck.
Good traction control/brake locking differential systems are enough for such kind of vehicles.
Kia Sorento like a boss @ 1:00.
It’s pretty much the same, and that is the proof. I will never buy a Honda awd, it’s a pure fwd 😊✌️

Are you sure honda crv gen 4rd is a 4x4..??? :D :D :D I like it's a 4x2..!
Yes, no doubts about it.
yes, AWD is not perfect. A 4x4 with locking front and rear differentials is the best option, all tires will spin. All though this set up is not safe for roads and will damage the drivetrain or get you hurt (tires aren't allowed to move at different speeds thus sliding and losing grip).
My 2004 CRV Manual Trans AWD doesn’t have this issue.🧐🧐

@@antepuskaric7195 How's the question related to the subject of the video?
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers What i seen in the video is that only Dacia has made it.Or?
@@antepuskaric7195 There were many cars at that hill and only CR-V couldn't make it, the rest had no problems. But that's completely not the subject of the video.
The real life Audi is aaaa...litle bit old? I mean did those have any kind of electronically imitated diflocks? Because if they did not, and all they have is the center torsen diff, open front and rear diff, it's no wonder that 3 wheels without grip make them stuck.
That is an example that such situation may happen in real, it doesn't matter if it is Audi or any other brands.
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers I'm not sure that the Audi in real life and Audi on rollers after each other in the same video, with the same problem suggest that it's just a general example to a situation, that "might happen to any of you too!", even if you did not edit it this way with such intentions.
@@efghabcd5237 Please listen the narration during the intro. It says everything. When it comes to Audi then these kind of awd systems may get stuck even when one wheel do not have traction. The older one here had rear diff locker, newer one had EDL. But that is completely not the subject of this video.
OK, but rear lockers are still useless, when the rear tyres have no grip. And yes, I get it, that torsen differentials are like open differentials, when one output shaft spins practically freely. Maybe I should have wrote that when only a single wheel has grip, but that wheel is connected to an open differential, and there's no electronic help, you won't be able to drive away.
My problem from the beginning is, that the old Audi never had any chance in that situation. Not like the newer one, that could be able to brake the spinning wheels - but did not do so ("faulty" engineering, or just this one car was not working correctly, I couldn't tell even by watching your video with the retest of another A4). And that difference between the two Audis is what makes it a bit less correct comparison of roller test and real life, than the other examples with matching generations of matching models.
@@efghabcd5237 The situation is the clue. Not the car.
When it comes to A4 - another one failed one of two tests on three rollers, so it doesn't matter much which was choosen here, I could have used A6 from 2016 with the same effect.
The Honda's hardware is capable, problem is, the controlling software is a bad joke.
Official Honda statement says that the clutch pack in gen 4 is too weak.
The audi doesn't really apply... you showed a quattro in real world(esp needs to be off and wot to get torque to other wheel) vs a haldex system on rollers (takes turns spinning one front wheel then one back wheel and so on)
Edit: I was mistaken, I thought the last car was an audi TT
There's no car with haldex in this video.
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers excuse me, I was wrong, from my half opened eyes that orange audi looked like an audi TT🤣🤣
@@mihai733 OK no problem. When it comes to ESP - it doesn't have to be off, that depends on car. And when it comes to haldex - newer generations do not need any spin at front to engage the rear.
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers very true, just with audis usually they work with a viscous coupling that requires the wheels to spin in order to engage the differentials. (Usually the center) then its up to abs to finally decide that other front wheel needs to spin. (I tested this on my 2000 s4, took about 60 seconds of WOT before the car realized nothing is going to happen with the other wheels so it sent power to the 4th wheel, other 3 wheels were in the air completely.)
@@mihai733 The only Audi with viscous coupling is the first generation of R8: ua-cam.com/video/PDuJXbUuRUc/v-deo.html
most of those are one or another version of daimler's AWD that goes back ot early 20th century. (s)AWD is proprietary SUBARU and is more or less on par with quattro (although i've seen instances where one was better than another and vice versa) . as for 3 wheels on slippery and one with grip; without lockers this is just useless . and to think that all torque goes to one half shaft, trying to pull 1500+ kilos heavy car with one wheel...
If diffs are open then torque is devided equally to both sides, 50/50.
These were all AWDs .Where is the comparison to 4WD/4x4
That's not the subject of the video.
this channel just rocks. I have landed with my Pajero in a ditch with no way out - rear diff lock failed, not surprised as it was my second Pajero, thank God they have just ended production of this junk. So I know why this single detail (behaviour on rollers) is so important. And no surprise Honda sucks as well, some Swedish journalists wrote about it some years ago, Honda has no intent to address this issue: www.motor1.com/news/50532/honda-cr-v-fails-awd-test-magazine-claims-it-is-a-fwd-car-video/
Hi there, I am interested in the failing of the diff lock of your Pajero !
Can you describe the problem you had ?
Thanks !
@@johnny_w I have overlooked your question, a miracle as I was looking for something else in my Inbox, terribly sorry, nearly one year .... That what I was said about my diff locks is that there is an electric little engine which shifts something, when not used it gets stuck. I don't know much about it, but it failed in two my Pajeros, and these two moments were utterly annoying, I got stuck for several hours with both cars with no help nearby.
Hello Bogusz, thanks for your (late) reply (no problem :-)
I own 2 Pajeros :
The first one bought in 1990 (first generation L040) has a 2500 diesel engine and has a limited slip differential in the rear-axle.
The second one bought in 1999 (second generation V20) has a 3500 petrol engine , and a 100% diff lock in the rear axle.
Never had a problem with the 100% lock, I do use it reguraly to keep it in working condition.
I am very happy with my Pajeros, which serve me well for 30 and 21 years now ;-)
Cheers !
Greetings from the Netherlands.
It actually doesn't represent real world still. For example - when you stuck you can yank back and forth, if you stuck on a hill you can roll down and try approach on a slightly different path or get more speed - in last point for example larger engine or better transmission may help more than grip, if it can help you get up to speed faster - it can be more decisive than ability to spin one of front wheels
Unless serious offroad in my opinion for real world almost any modern AWD will work for you.
Still very interesting to see how different AWD system performs and compares to each other
There are always tens of factors which can change the situation. Roller tests show if car can do some tricks by itself.

@@4x4.tests.on.rollers jest pozytywnie i z czasem będzie się kojarzyć z tą seria :)
So I guess moral of the story is, if you’re getting an AWD vehicle, get one with plenty of torque?
That's about power distribution, not about torque.
If you placed the rollers on a slope then the test would have been more accurate but again not exactly. Vehicles' weight distributions are not the same on slope and on flat. Incline snowy-icy surface conditions and flat dry surface should not be compared at all.
These rollers can't be placed on slope. They are not flat, wheels sit deep inside the cylinders, so it is already like a slope. Or curb.

@@4x4.tests.on.rollers I understand. But your videos show many situations where AWD fails. Makes me think they are worthless
@@vandur2322 It depends which awd systems you consider and what is their purpose. Roller tests show only one aspect - starting (or slow driving) in slippery conditions where grip is very different for each tyre.

Good job cherry-picking videos for the CR-V to make it it look like a failure. There's tons of UA-cam videos showing it does indeed work.
There is no need to make it look like a failure. CR-V makes it by itself. Issue shown years ago by Teknikens Värld, there was some official Honda reply, stories about software changes etc. They changed that in new generation.
It is probably u that is cherry picking the few videos that show that Honda awd works... Honda are notorious for becoming fwd and not being able to send enough power to the back and the biggest real world proof is that nobody uses them in cold, snowy areas...
