I feel like all I do is favorite your videos! I always tell people you have practically taught me all the tricks of makeup and refer people to your channel all the time.
I just went on QVC and looked at the St. Tropez and the Tarte one and chose Tarte, based on the reviews! I hope it works! I will keep you posted! Have a great day!
I was just in Ulta, trying to decide on a sunless self-tanner and could not pick one out because I really was not sure which one would be the best for me. This was pertect, thanks for the good tips and great reviews.
For exfoliation before self-tanning you can use exfoliation gloves...they are gloves that have a rough texture and you just add your favorite soap in the palm of the gloves and get to scrubbing! They're in the same area with loofahs, body puffs and sponges at Target or Walmart...so easy to use :) Thanks for sharing your favorites, Emily!
I have been so impressed with Lancôme's Flash Bronzer. I love how the color goes down when you first apply (like a Bronzer) but deepens to a natural looking tan in 30 min. Plus, the color stays on for at least four days--even after shaving your legs. There is barely any scent, too
I have used the banana boat sunless tanner for years. Recently I used it, and I turned ORANGE! not only that, but since I was in a hurry it gave me unsightly streaks!....so embarrassing! My lesson was learned. Take your time. I am now tempted to use the other brands you tried with the applicators. Great video as always :)
I'm so glad I watched this video because I was going to buy the St. Tropez but want something for my face more. Then I saw the Dr. Dennis Gross pads you mentioned and just ordered them!! I can't wait to try them. Thank you!!!!
I just bought the Palmers cocoa butter body bronze self tanner lotion and OMG!!! It smells divine!! it smells like chocolate and it lingers a little bit and it's so nice to get a smell of chocolate every now and then and it's a real chocolate smell, not a fake one. The color is good, it lasts well and fades well. The only key, exfoliate really well!! Thanks for another great video and I agree, you look great in this video:)
I came across your video looking for sunless tanners recs and I have to say you should be on TV. You remind me so much of a newscaster. You have the voice and cadence for that line of work. Enjoyed the video!
I'm fair-skinned and I have the Jergens foam and I really like it. I usually apply it right after I'm dried out of the shower and by the time i'm done my hair and make-up it's TOTALLY dry and ready for me to get dressed. It's a good one!
I am VERY pale and the Banana Boat sunless tanner works wonders for me. I use the deep one and the color looks very natural...I always get compliments when I'm wearing it.
I love my Faux Tan by BE. Mine didn't come with a brush so I just got a cheap box of gloves from Sally's and I apply mine with the gloves. Color is great.
Thanks for the great info!! I have been using a sunless tanner on my body and also the face but I can't tell on my face so I am gonna give the towels a try!!
I've been using the BB Summer Color with a mitt that I bought at Ulta for about $5. It looks like the one the comes with the St. Tropez. This method seems to work pretty well for me right now.
I've got to say, I was very skeptical about the banana boat summer color, since most drugstore self tanners really suck! I got the lotion and mist and it's wonderful! No streaks, nice natural color, didn't transfer onto clothes and I wasn't even that careful putting it on. I'm very impressed with the quality for the cheap price!
I love the St. Tropez!!..I am going to buy the Bare Minerals one just to compare them I think..Tarte has came out with one on QVC and it's already been "Customer Top Rated",so it might be worth checking out. Thanks for another great video.
I second this request! I'm looking at using a sunless tanner for the first time, as well. I would really appreciate some tips on how to avoid streaking and get a great look.
I got a sample of that and it's great! Drys fast and doesn't stain the sheets. Love it. Doesn't smell bad either.. But you can't buy it in the stores yet...only online:(
I bought the Banana Boat sunless tanner 3 days ago, and started using it that same day....I am so much darker already!!!!!!:) I am pleased with the results and it has a clean scent....no streaks! Thanks for the recommendation....it gave me the same color that I would get by sun bathing, which I won't do again....so scary!!!!!! Love this stuff!;)
You are gorgeous. Love the hair. Thanks for the info. I to shop QVC, I to have the faux tan. I have heard awesome things about the Tropez, so maybe I will try that. Thank you for this info.
I just started using the Jergens natural glow gradual tanning lotion for my body and the moisturizer for the face as well and i really like it alot. It has given me a wonferful tan without it looking orange. I really like bothe of these products because they not only gradually tan your skin but they also moisturize your skin leaving really soft.
Just as a tip and for saving money, you can mix your self tanner with your moisturizer for your face. I have st tropez mousse and it goes on my face really splotchy on its own, but with moisturizer it looks very even. Just a heads up after you run out of your pad things!
You should be able to purchase a PH balancing product somewhere. I know the salon where I get my spray tans done has a spray that is applied before the tanning liquid so that it doesn't turn orange when it develops. Check it out online!
i just use my hands to apply it on the face-- that way I can control the product a little more around my hairline, ears, etc. And then I wash my hands right after. Great question!
what about shower after the aplication... and in between the aplications. i like to exfoilate my body and the stuff comes off then i keep repliing it and its not building up any color. ? HELP
I love your makeup in this video! Beautiful as always :) I am in a wedding next weekend and this would be perfect! If you have time would love a tutorial.
It's one of those things people say you should do, but it doesn't really matter. Although you should always exfoliate and moisturize the first time, if you do it everytime, it will fade your color. Just reapply until you get your desired tan and if you make any mistakes, then you exfoliate/scrub and moisturize.
@tania0523 I use the banana boat one on my face and it hasn't broken me out. I used the light to medium one on there. It gives me a little glow but not too much and i just apply powder bronzer anyway.
I just picked up something I think is relativly new, L'Oreal Sublime Bronze airbrush self tanning and it's great! I usually go for a spray that I don't have to touch and risk streaking or orange hands! It sprays nicely, dries quickly and it's a good color for me :)
Hi Emily, do you have a video on the makeup look in this video? You look amazing! Also, have you ever tried any Soap&Glory products? The instant and wash off instant tanner is supposed to be really good.
Yes, me too!!! What can you tell us about the smell or frangrance of these??? Can't use the stinky ones at all....which would you choose by frangrance???
i love the sunlab micromist. it comes in an aerosol. its a little tricky to put on bc the spray isnt super fine. what i do is i rub vaseline on all over my hands &feet and spray my bottle &the vaseline really helps me rub in the product evenly, without streaks and with some moisture. i then rub the vaseline off my hands and feet (prevents the dreaded orange palms and soles. then do my hands and feet individually. at this point if you dont use self tanner and you like being tan youre missing out
Yes please do a review on application I hate putting it on cuz it's so hard to get on your back and u have to stop and wash your hands so much so that ur palms don't stain then u end up with white hands and u have to wait 4 hrs before u can get it wet and this is hard especially when u take showers at night. I'd rather just go tanning or get professional spray tans
Emily do you think you could do a tutorial on the NYX Champagne and Caviar palette....I have that palette as well but I can't get my makeup to look like yours...LOL!!! Thanks!
Thanks for the info! Only 2 I have used have been the Jergens foam and the Sally Hansen spray, I hope to try St. Tropez sometime soon. Anyways, the one I use right now is the Victoria's secrets one, it think it gives a great tan immediately and gets even better w/in hours, the only downside is you really have to rub it in to avoid streakiness but that's w/ most tanners anyways
thank you for this! haha i'm so pale, and i would tan in the sun, but i just get burnt and then get white again. not worth the pain and the health risks... never used sunless tanner but i'm definitely gunna pick up the banana boat product today!
I'm not sure if you've done this yet or not, but could you do a video on sun protection? Mainly sunscreens but possibly hair care for the summer (to protect from sun and chlorine).
You can, although everyone has a different skin texture on their legs than their arms...etc. I used it everywhere and the only problem area was my neck, it looked patchy so I used bronzer to hide the patchiness
Love you Emily! Your channel is the only one I check every few days. You are so helpful and thorough .....not to mention gorgeous!
I feel like all I do is favorite your videos! I always tell people you have practically taught me all the tricks of makeup and refer people to your channel all the time.
your videos are always of such high quality! I never get tired of watching them!
I am loving the BE Faux tan, great shade for fair skin and the brush is amazing...
I just went on QVC and looked at the St. Tropez and the Tarte one and chose Tarte, based on the reviews! I hope it works! I will keep you posted! Have a great day!

you are so professional, clear and easy to understand. a true beauty guru! keep it up xxx

yay! :D Thanks for watching!!
I discovered this St Tropez mousse this year! Love it for the drying time too!
Thanks for the great videos!!!
I have used the banana boat sunless tanner for years. Recently I used it, and I turned ORANGE! not only that, but since I was in a hurry it gave me unsightly streaks!....so embarrassing! she used to be a newscaster actually!!
vette chick she used to be one
I'm fair-skinned and I have the Jergens foam and I really like it. I usually apply it right after I'm dried out of the shower and by the time i'm done my hair and make-up it's TOTALLY dry and ready for me to get dressed. It's a good one!
i'm using that one too, i can buy it in my local grocery store, and it's so great! has never left any nasty marks on me
I am VERY pale and the Banana Boat sunless tanner works wonders for me. I use the deep one and the color looks very natural...I always get compliments when I'm wearing it.
I love my Faux Tan by BE. Mine didn't come with a brush so I just got a cheap box of gloves from Sally's and I apply mine with the gloves. Color is great.
I use Tanwise from Sally's and I love it. It doesn't make you orange and gives a nice even tan.
I was JUST watching your older self-tanner video when I went back to the homepage and saw THIS! Thanks so much for the suggestions!
Your hair and makeup look amazing in this video. I know we would all love a tutorial on this
Great video! Love the st tropez mousse and I tried the alpha beta glow pads last year when you rec'd and love those, too.
LOVE the St. Tropez tanner! It's the best I've ever used and worth every penny. -Kimberly
Great suggestions! Could you do a tutorial on how your hair is in this video? It's so lovely!
Thanks for the great info!! I have been using a sunless tanner on my body and also the face but I can't tell on my face so I am gonna give the towels a try!!

I love your eye makeup , I would love to see a tutorial on this look. I love your videos I watch them frequently
The eyelashes you're wearing look great on you, so flattering! xxx
So helpful, thanks!! Gorgeous makeup, hope you do a tutorial on this look if you haven't already.
I love L'oreal's Sublime Bronze. It works really well, and I haven't experienced any streaking.
Thank you emily! I bought the sally hansen and you are right it works amazing!
I hope you get well soon!
love love love the coconut scrub from softsoap....smells like the beach!
I love the St. Tropez!!..I am going to buy the Bare Minerals one just to compare them I think..Tarte has came out with one on QVC and it's already been "Customer Top Rated",so it might be worth checking out. Thanks for another great video.
Thank you Emily! Especially since I just asked on FB. When you get a chance try Tart's new one that you can find on QVC. I love it!
My faux tan with the brush is coming in from QVC in the morning. I can't wait!!!!
That was helpful. I do have the Sally airbrush stuff and I love it!
I second this request! I'm looking at using a sunless tanner for the first time, as well. I would really appreciate some tips on how to avoid streaking and get a great look.
It's the first time I'm hearing about the St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse. Thanx!
could you do a makeup tutorial on your look on this video? love love loveee your makeup!
After watching this video, I'm contemplating using it on my legs. Thanks for the product tips.
I got a sample of that and it's great! Drys fast and doesn't stain the sheets. Love it. Doesn't smell bad either.. But you can't buy it in the stores yet...only online:(
I love this makeup look on you!!!! Gorgeous!
I agree about the color not showing up on your face! My St Tropez always leaves my face white even if I put a lot on it
Hi Emily I was wondering if you could do a video explaining how to maintain a tan for a long period of time?? Thanks it would be so helpful!!
I have been waiting to hear from you specificly to see which brands you prefer! I trust your opinions, Thanks for filming this!
i love the faux tan, it doesn't sink into my pores and it doesn't irritate my skin as much as st tropez and the colour fades evenly.
You are gorgeous. Love the hair. Thanks for the info. I to shop QVC, I to have the faux tan. I have heard awesome things about the Tropez, so maybe I will try that. Thank you for this info.
your skin is flawless.which self tanner did u use. Thanks great video.
"You put the tanner directly on the mitt, and then ya just...start goin' to town" hahaha I adore you!
I just started using the Jergens natural glow gradual tanning lotion for my body and the moisturizer for the face as well and i really like it alot. I love your makeup in this video! Beautiful as always :) I am in a wedding next weekend and this would be perfect! If you have time would love a tutorial.
Have you tried the St. Moriz? A lot of people think it is a dupe of the St. Tropez, and it is much cheaper! I use it and it is amazing!
It's one of those things people say you should do, but it doesn't really matter. Although you should always exfoliate and moisturize the first time, if you do it everytime, it will fade your color. Just reapply until you get your desired tan and if you make any mistakes, then you exfoliate/scrub and moisturize.
Marcelle makes self tanning wipes.. I love them!!!
thanks! that was really concise and informative! gonna check out the banana boat and sally hansen self-tanners!
have you tried the St Tropez gradual tan moisturizer? AMAZING. dries pretty quickly, while leaving your skin so smooth.
your eyes and lashes look awesome in this video!
@tania0523 I use the banana boat one on my face and it hasn't broken me out. I used the light to medium one on there. It gives me a little glow but not too much and i just apply powder bronzer anyway.
I use a household wet sponge to put on Banana Boat self tanner! I really like to rub in the tanner and this way does a good job.
You look so amazing in this video! And do you have any suggestions for self-tanners that can kind of 'correct' tan lines?
The St Tropez lotion works SO much better and go's on like the Faux Tan, you might want to try that next time. You can also use the mitt with it. :)
I love the St Tropez mousse. I got it after Kandee Johnson rec it about a zillion times lol. Love ya both!!
Can you do a video on hair products and tools??
Because your hair always looks great.
your makeup looks amazing here!! tutorial??
your skin looks perfect and so tan! what foundation/bronzer are you wearing?
I just picked up something I think is relativly new, L'Oreal Sublime Bronze airbrush self tanning and it's great! I usually go for a spray that I don't have to touch and risk streaking or orange hands! It sprays nicely, dries quickly and it's a good color for me :)

Yes, me too!!! What can you tell us about the smell or frangrance of these??? Can't use the stinky ones at all....which would you choose by frangrance???
You're makeup looks great here!
I recommend that if you have streaks from self tanning use a luffa and exfoliate your skin to help buff out the imperfections it works really well :)
i love the sunlab micromist. it comes in an aerosol. its a little tricky to put on bc the spray isnt super fine. what i do is i rub vaseline on all over my hands &feet and spray my bottle &the vaseline really helps me rub in the product evenly, without streaks and with some moisture. i then rub the vaseline off my hands and feet (prevents the dreaded orange palms and soles. then do my hands and feet individually. at this point if you dont use self tanner and you like being tan youre missing out
I def agree with you on the sunless tanners for face! What the heck! Good to know about those ones from qvc.
Thanks for the reviews. It's nice knowing what really will work.
Yes please do a review on application I hate putting it on cuz it's so hard to get on your back and u have to stop and wash your hands so much so that ur palms don't stain then u end up with white hands and u have to wait 4 hrs before u can get it wet and this is hard especially when u take showers at night. I'd rather just go tanning or get professional spray tans
do you have tutorial on this eye look? i love it!!
I have fair skin and I love the jergens foam!
Love your eye makeup its soo pretty how do you do this on
Perfect timing for this one, and lots of helpful facts. Thanks, Emily!
Emily do you think you could do a tutorial on the NYX Champagne and Caviar palette....I have that palette as well but I can't get my makeup to look like yours...LOL!!! Thanks!

I love everything about your look in this video! How did you do your hair? Is it a Bump-It, or did you tease it?
thank you for this! haha i'm so pale, and i would tan in the sun, but i just get burnt and then get white again. not worth the pain and the health risks... never used sunless tanner but i'm definitely gunna pick up the banana boat product today!
I'm not sure if you've done this yet or not, but could you do a video on sun protection? Mainly sunscreens but possibly hair care for the summer (to protect from sun and chlorine).
Could you do a demo of the st tropez? And the face tanner? It would be very helpful for those of us that haven't ever used self tanners! Thanks!!
Please do a video on applying self tanners! How to get to places you can't reach (ie back), and how to prevent streaking.
You look stunning Em :-) Can u pls do a makeup and hair tutorial for this look! Thx.
Another option for exfoliating is the Salux Japanese Cloths--very inexpensive, large enough to get your whole body, easy to clean--I love these.
yes!
I know it's not the subject but your eye make up is sooooooooo pretty !
You can, although everyone has a different skin texture on their legs than their arms...etc. I used it everywhere and the only problem area was my neck, it looked patchy so I used bronzer to hide the patchiness
Omg can u do a tutorial on ur makeup here I love it!!!! U look great
