    Definitely a guitar I will never sell.

    Amazing guitar. When i was 25, 34 now i started playing guitar because i learned about randy rhoads and fell in love with his playing. My whole life i loved classical music and i enjoyed his neo classica style

      Funny how that happens. These are definitely special! Like I said on the video, I LOVED my Japanese RR3 and it’s probably the guitar I played most in my life but my RR1s are fas superior. They just feel perfect. Every time I pick one up to play it’s surprising how great they feel, look, play and sound. 🤘🏻

    I just bought a black 2008 MIJ Jackson RR5FR with a floyd rose and Seymour Duncan jb/jazz combo. It looks very similar to this and is neck through as well. I would love a USA RR1 one day as well if I can ever find a deal. This Japanese built rhoads plays so nice and sounds excellent

    Hey Bro,
    Like you vib.
    I have an 80's Rhoades/Jackson-V.
    I bought twenty years ago from my neighbor who ordered it on his way to attend Berkeley. When he got there and found that he wasn't the best and got humble and discouraged.
    He bailed on Berkeley and went into science.
    He's ridiculously smart.
    The guitar went into storage.
    He claims he ordered its one of the first one hundred made by hand before the went into production. I'd love to know if it's anything special, let me know what you think Bro.
    Nice job on the vid, I watched it to the end.

    • @PatPosse
      @PatPosse  Рік тому

      Im not sure what you mean but the pickups need to be grounded. They usually ground at the post on a Floyd or stop tail bridge, typically the post closest to the high E string. The strat however grounds to the claw plate that holds the springs of the trem system. Hope that answered your question 😁

    Hello, what year is your guitar? They are selling me an RR1 from 2001 (Pre-Fender Era), they say that the ones from before 2001 have better woods, since after this year the company acquired it from fender and the quality dropped a bit.

    • @PatPosse
      @PatPosse  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Man! I actually own 3 RR1 two of them are pre-Fender (85 and 92) and this particular one is 2009 I believe. Honestly this is the best one out of the 3… the first fender years were a bit iffy but got progressively better… Fender purchased Jackson in 2002 and the last pre fender Jackson’s weren’t all that great either because they needed to cut costs any way possible. There are exceptions to every rule though. I definitely recommend that if you are interested in buying one, try to find one locally, play it first, and make sure you love it. If that’s not possible, in my experience as a Senior Guitar Department Manager for about 8 years and having gone to NAMM, I’ve played a ton of RR1s and never played one I didn’t like. Some of course are better than others but they all rock hard! Best of luck man! Hope to have helped!

      @@PatPosse i don't remember which jackson it was, but i think that it costs around €400. I'm not a pro guitarist, but a lot of music teacher and musician told me that my cort is one of the best guitar that they ever tried for only €500, maybe I'm really lucky and i tooked a perfect guitar! just one question, how did u become a Seymour Duncan artist?

    Excellent video man! I got lucky, just bought one of these yesterday, a Mint 2005, for about 1/3 the cost of a new one. It looks exactly like yours and it's my first Jackson. I can't believe how solid it feels. I just have to find a comfortable position to play it sitting, since I'm kind of lazy when I'm at home.
    A couple of questions. I heard that you have to 'block' the Floyd when you change strings, is that true and do you do that?
    Also, the guy who sold it to me wasn't sure about the gauge or brand of strings on it because he had all that done by a tech. I'm getting a caliper to check the gauge but I have no idea what brand of strings. Does it matter if I replace with a different brand? Will I have to do a set up again?
    Thanks! 🤘

      Hey man!! First of all, CONGRATS!! Welcome to the Jackson family!! RR1s RULE, they are solid as all hell. Mine fell a few times during touring and it never so much as went out of tune, from sunny Florida to Freezing Boston to Buenos Aires in 3 weeks and no problems!. To answer your questions, I actually find it really confortable to play sitting, you just have to play "classical style" (which is how I play anyways). I don't ever block the trem, what I do is I just push down on the trem arm to make room when needed. 9-42 gauge is Standard factory gauge but it could have been set up for a different gauge ever since. I would recommend setting it up for whatever set you love most. As far as brands go you can use any brand and any model. Sound and feel will change (and sometimes pull or "resistance" will be different too) But sisnce you asked for my recommendation, I would definitely recommend D'Addarios XTs or NYXLs, they are AWESOME. They are a little bit pricier than regular guitar strings but definitely worth it, especially on a guitar like this! Thanks for watching and commenting!

      Nice! Just like building a house… it’s obviously cheaper and better to do it yourself, it just takes time, practice, talent and a hefty investment on machinery to get really good at it! I’d love to check out one of your builds one day!

      The guitar is Sweeeeet!!! On the guitar I actually had D’Addario EXPs on (affiliate links in the description) and i try to keep my strings (at least on the guitars I use constantly like the black Les Paul, the black RR1 and now hopefully the Brian May Guitar) under 3 months old if they are coated and under 1 month if not coated. I made a video about the lifespan of strings you can find it here

      @@al-razifaruq258 RR3s are not custom or USA made. They are made in Japan and they are a lot cheaper. They are also Bolt-on necks and 2 or three piece body. Usually rosewood fretboard, not ebony and of course, no mother of pearl inlays. They are great guitars nevertheless.
