I genuinely believe that Dagan's charm and passion would convince me to buy anything. Toothbrushes. Sofas. Insurance. Juicero. Books about the chemical composition of Marmite.
100% of the things 100% of the time
I bet he's sold some of those things at one time or another
Lol yup. I could see him on Timeliness selling Black Sabbath and the Who albums collections lol
Degan's a tool, lol!
Lol
After watching the Jackson at the beginning I realized my guitar doesn't suck, I do 😂
On the bright side, it means you don't have to spend hundreds or thousands of moneys to get better
@@JJames666male as a jackson player i can say that i love me my moneys
Bro that’s how I feel about the sg… 😂
The Quality of the Ibanez Gio range has improved massively over the years. In fact most guitars of this price point are of incredible quality compared to how they were 10-15 years ago.
Those Ibanez INF pickups they come with suck. The Jackson stock pickups are better and you can get a JS32Q for almost the same price and used they are bargains and i have a JS32Q Dinky and its a very good guitar for such a low price
I agree overall. Ibanez especially tho, alot of the gios are competent. Mine has the quantum pickups, but I think those are well as the infinitys sound fine.
Schecter entry level > Ibanez entry level, i have ibanez gio n pgm short scale, both after 1 year the input guitar is kaput, my schecter c7 sgr till now solid and stay in tune like new despite once fall hard to the floor!😆
The iBZ pickups suck, but the new classic pickups and the quantum’s are amazing
Exactly what I thought. About 12 years ago I bought a nice LTD for about 900€. Still plays very nicely. Recently I went to JustMusic in my hometown of berlin, big store, loads of guitars. And I tried out the more affordable ones and was like... wait a second. This sounds really... really good ^^ Like, some may even be better than my LTD, and then I was sad :D Still love my LTD tho
Has Dagan ever met a guitar he doesn’t love? We need a pure Dagan channel.
Perhaps, rumor has it one day Dagan did not rock, he was photographed frowning with Big Foot while visiting Loch Ness while a UFO crashed in the background.
@@bn9983 it’s understandable that a probing would wipe a smile from anyone. Aliens would explain his knack for shredding like no other human.
I don’t demo the guitars I don’t like! 😂 And I do have my own channel, right here! I don’t use it as much as I should though
@@bn9983 😂😂😂
bro, don't be fooled, he is selling these.
Picked up the black and red Ibanez GRG131 a while back. Added locking tuners, polished the frets, and gave it a good setup. I gig with it regularly and much to my surprise I actually played a whole show with it over my PRS, strat, and LP recently. Cheap guitars are awesome now. Looking to get that Jackson Rhoads next!
Do you suggest it for a beginner? I’m thinking of getting my first guitar, and I’m looking to mainly play metal, and it has to be one of best looking ones I’ve seen that isn’t a ridiculous price
@@hellothere8803 absolutely go for it! Just make sure to get it setup once you get it. Perfect for a beginner who's into metal
@@demian113 thank you!
Hello! Is the GRG131 smaller than a regular RG?
@@guitarmaniacginono, standard 25’5 scale
Mint video mate as always, these videos always give me the itch to play my guitar, cheers from Aussie
I use the JS32t and I put Dave Mustaine Live Wire pickups. I play upside down though, so knobs get in my way, but its so light, I can deal with awkward positioning. I love the feel of it.
I'm loving the riffs that Dagan is playing. Glad he reviewed the Schecter as well, I'm really debating buying it up. Aweseome video!
Rock is coming back from obscurity xD so much great gear, inovations, musicians, it makes me sooo happy.. rock on Dagan! 🤘😎🎸
Thanks for the video!! I just got myself a js32 rhoads, it’s in layaway right now. Thanks again!
Could listen to you all day. You're insanely talented , man. Looking to buy a starter guitar for my son. Dad's just proud I raised a Metalhead. 🤘
Good video. I was hoping to see some Kramers though.
I have that same ibanez. Looks killer, plays pretty good. The pickups are so so. But with a good pedal it sounds great! Love ibanez. I have a couple Jackson's and shecter but nothing like an ibanez!!!! And great video!
Deagan, you make everything sound good, which is why I bought a VOX amp that you reviewed! Keep up the awesome work mate🤘
I scored myself one of those Rhoads budget guitars on the cheap. It's pretty solid for a cheap guitar. It just took a but of setting up at the bridge was too low. Only complaint is that the pickups are a bit lacking on the high end. It makes pinch harmonics an effort without bulk reverb n vibrato.
It's so sexy I couldn't resist.
Kramer Beretta Special. 1 slant-mounted humbucker. 1 volume knob. Tremolo (that I personally screw down to the body and forget about it like a hardtail). Fabulous 80s inspired colors. Simple and awesome straight out of the box, but also a great mod platform for the money. I added a tone pot and a kill switch to mine. It's by far the cheapest of my 8 guitars, and probably my favorite.
Fr tho. I just got mine literally today in the purple finish. I need to file the frets as they’re just a tiny bit sharp but this things nice. I plan to change the pickup and the pot. And maybe the nut and tuner
,
Excellent review!
This is what i have been waiting for
I'll have the last one please, looks & sounds great 👍👍
awesome list
I have the Ibanez GRG131 and getting the Jackson for Christmas, I cannot fault the Ibanez at all. So I'm looking forward to trying the Jackson 😁😁
That ibanez looks insane for that price and it looks sick! Im sold, for sure going to be my metal guitar soon!
I’m thinking the same thing maybe. The guy at guitar 🎸 center put blues strings on my guitar 🎸 and they suck! I might have to get another setup with drop D strings or go with the Ibanez.
@@BadEconomyOfficial what? Strings are strings bro 😂
@@MrBICKUS9 Actually, install some Drop D strings or Heavy end Ernie Ball and you can detune the guitar w/o it buzzing on you.
@@MrBICKUS9 *Also I play Metal a lot
@@BadEconomyOfficial no chance I’m buying Ernie ball just to see them rust and wear in like 2 months
Awesome video 🤘
I just picked up the ibanez grg with zero research (it was a impulse buy with a amp I wanted) and then I watched this so I'm feeling proud of my taste in guitars. Especially considering it is only my 3rd electric 2nd bought myself.
what amp was it? i’m thinking about getting the ibanez but not sure on the amp since i’ll be 99% of the time playing with headphones
@@Pringlebox oh shit then this will be perfect. It's the boss katana mini. It's got brown sound (eddie van halen) and 2 other effects, it's small but sounds great hooked into headphones or even bigger amps and it's like 150 bucks new. But i also wish I would have bought the positive grid spark so definitely look into both. The spark is way better but the boss is still very solid
The schecter one has a mahogany variant which is slightly expensive but worth. Also at that price range Kramer baretta is a steal. Honorable mention to the Jackson js22 with mahogany. It's a killer guitar.
Got the GRGR131EX. No regrets.
Good God man! You are damn good! Love this❤️. Enjoy just watching you play. Hell yeah
Got the V. It's deadly for sure
Getting myself that Epiphone for my birthday and hoping it arrives today 😁
I will be getting my Jackson JS32 King V this month i Got The White whit black Bevels
My vote is on the ibanez 😅 you can change the pickups but that colorway is so sick 😅
I got the Ibanez gio. pretty much identical to the grg without shark tooth inlays but I tried the Jackson dinky at the store and I'm still dreaming about getting one it's an awesome guitar
It's cool Dagan can make cheap guitars sound so good. Whereas, I can make an expensive guitar sound so cheap.
No matter what guitar just put to Marshall your sound became very awesome...!!!!
SCHECKTER c6 plus was my choice. I'm always happy to play it.
Can't beat Schecters for quality 👌.
I own an evil twin frs and a banshee extreme 6 both are amazing to play and look at.
I had a schecter hellraiser years ago, had to sell it in hard times tho. I ended up buying a mexican strat, but I miss my hellraiser. Idk why I bought a strat, the price I guess... They arent a bad guitar, but they're kind of a chore to play compared to a nice metal guitar with some newer features.
@@blitheringrando1410 My Banshee extreme 6 is basically an HSS strat with 1 volume and 1 tone. Bridge pickup splits also. Picked up for 450ish about a year ago. I own 2 Schecters, 2 Ibanez, and 1 epiphone Les Paul pro plus top. Variety is a good thing. Overall my Schecters seem to be the best in terms of overall construction and craftsmanship.
@@thetacticalape8852 yeah its definitely nice to have multiple guitars for different styles. I haven't played in a while, just picking it back up recently. I've only ever seen and heard good things about schecter, they must have really good quality control and high standards.
No, you simply can not beat Schecter, when you factor in price per pound, in regards to quality! No other brand comes close! Obviously there are a lot of great brands, a lot of great guitars. But when you buy a Schecter, you are getting a guitar that could sell for three times the price! I have a cheap Schecter Demon 6. Bought it used for 300$. Its just as good as any 800$ LTD. I have a Evil Twin E-1 with the Fishman pickups and everything. If it said Gibson, it would cost 3 grand. Not being bias, Schecter is just the best. End of story!
I agree, for the price for what you get, Schecter is amazing. I got an Omen 6 for $300 and it was very impressive for a $300 guitar.
The Jackson JS series is a great starter rig to get into playing metal or hard rock.
Those JS32, the whole neck composition, I swear that when I tested one out, I immediately played a lot better!
Awesome thanks!
I have a Jackson JS 32 dinky and it’s AMAZING. Around 300 USD and plays beautiful
I have Schecter c6 plus and I really love it, I suggest.
Today i took his advice and i just got the Ibanez grg131ex 🎸🤘
Schecter- Personally they are great guitars, but I would build up to one and get the more expensive version,
Start out - Ibanez/Squire/Epiphone - $200-500, when you move up a step look into modding these to better electronics+hardware
Then jump - PRS SE 245/Custom 24 - $600-1000
Then American Fender/Gibson in the $1500 range
Then, the ones you really really want,
Schecter Banshee Mach-7, 7 string with Evertune
From here you can do 2 things pick up a Morello strat MIM sig and mod the crap out of it for an HSH with splits 7 way mod, killswitch and Utopia pickups with a Floyd, or buy a 6 string Jem/PIA.
You can also just Warmoth custom build the crap out of it using the carved soloist body.
Just picked up a Jackson 31q arch top a couple days ago for 280dollars and plays fantastic, sounds great and feels like a way more expensive guitar. Very happy with it.
Agree i have the JS32Q Dinky HT and its great for such a low price they sell for, cheaper than the low end Ibanez RG/RGA series and the quality is superb.
I'd love to see a video of guitars around 1000 dollars (900-1200 range maybe) with the shecter hellraiser as one of the points of comparison. I used to have one years ago, would like to repurchase but I'm not sure what else is comparable.
Off the top of my head, the LTD EC1000 series, Epiphone Prophesy series, PRS SE series, Ibanez RG550...
There is another that IMO dwarfs my Schecter hellraiser even tho I love them both..
Jackson Sl2 pro series soloist Mick Thomson sig. The pickups are to die for, So much better then emg. the neck is thin and shreddy, It’s no fuss and it just plays so much better and sounds better in every way.
@@captpootis8495 Never really been a fan of the SL2 Pro series... the just feel... slinky? I guess is the word... but yep, this one fits well within the price category listed...
@@EvilMerlin I mean hey, mine just feels like a guitar 😂. Slinkiness I think would be strings not the guitar, I got mine thrown in drop B with Daddario nyxl 11-56 the same strings mick uses.
The Hellraiser is still in the top for me. But Schecter also makes the Evil Twin, and Apocalypse with the same style and features. Just a bit more updated and less abalone. The Schecter Silver Mountain is also a great choice, that's a cooler version of the Hellraiser. The Reaper is also a cool choice.
Basically, the Hellraiser is a C1. So any guitar with the C in the name by Schecter is going to be like the Hellraiser.
Esp/LTD Horizon would be similar also.
About 3 years back picked up a Jackson js32x
could you please make an updated version of this? looking to buy one in 2023 and I'd love your advice
That Gojira riff on the Ibanez has me wanting to buy one!
What gijora song is it from? It sounded so familiar
@@konstantinejohnson3760 silvera gojira
I own the Jackson JS11 dinky one...exactly this same model...and the experience is really great
Just bought mine a couple days ago and it Delivers tomorrow. Super excited since it’s my first guitar. I got mine in red too!
@@darkwish210 how is it? I’m thinking of getting one too
@@dekabean9755 So far not bad. It came all set up just had to tune it and got to learning. It looks great in person and sounds good especially for the price. Feels comfortable too since I’m a beginner.
@@darkwish210 nice! I’ll probably go for that one too I’m also new to this thing haha thanks for the feedback man
Im thinking about the ibanez I might get that one
Everything IS magnificent and minth with dagan. A cofee machine could be sold as a famous black and gold amp...🤘🤘🤘🤣
The BVB riff deserves a like
I already have a Ibanez with a hardtail buy id like to mod that mod one
I remember when mim fender stratocaster went for 400$ in 2003
And the American stratocaster standard with noiseless single coils went for 1000$ how far we have fallen lol
I bought my USA standard telecaster brand new in 1996 for £525! (About £900 today with the exchange rate.)
my favourite guitar out of all is my ibanez grg121dx. have a set of emg 81/85's in it, and it plays phenomenally. i also have the Jackson JS11 and truth be told, i hate everything about it. Real poor QC. Bridge came installed at a wonky angle, nut was cut too high, pickups are very muddy (not what i excepted from a cheap guitar in 2021, seen as how my 'nez's pups are fantastic for the money, which isnt far off the js11). Certainly an impulse buy i somewhat regret.
Look's like you are an ibanez fan lol. I have jackson and i dare you don't say muddy pickups. It's the best budget guitar ever made for Metal lovers so shut up and take away your ibanez!
The opening riff played on the Ibanez, where is it from? Because it sounds farking legit 😁🤘
i have the jackson rr with a floyd rose ah bk, probably my favourite guitar
Squier was my first guitar!!!
One noticeable difference between these guitars and some slightly higher priced intermediate models is the non-contoured bolt-on necks. These things feel like two blocks of wood nailed together if you are used to a pull through neck or a highly contoured bolt on. That was my biggest turn off about the Jackson Rhodes and the Squier Bullet looks to have that same issue. If you are used to guitar necks being somewhat flush with the body, you won't like many of these models.
could you do a review of cheap blues guitars that rock
I got Aria Pro II. I'm an absolute beginner. But AC/DC songs sound pretty solid on it.
Way to rock the flat 5!
i just saw you on a google commercial man!
whoo my cousin had a JS11 in neon/lime green and it was insane to look at, strings had that awful paint on them to match the body and of course he would never let me change them though, good thing he sold it, hopefully whoever bought it will actually play it lol
Will Fender squire Classic Vibe '70s Stratocaster HSS be suitable for rock and metal?
Whats the first intro metal music is this? I think it's the rockin' for decades thingy.
Are reverse headstocks as big a hassle as they appear to be?
You should review the LTD M201HT is a good metal guitar
my first guitar was a gibson sg j in cherry Black
I'm saving money for Ibanez GRGR 131EX but knowing my luck, it will get much more expensive until then. And idk if i should buy guitar or amp first. Guitar without amp sounds weak and amp without guitar is just a speaker for listening to music.
Unless the amp has a aux in you can't listen to music with it, I would recommend to get a guitar first or ideally both.
Spend more on your first amp than guitar, it sounds backwards I know but with all the excellent entry level guitars out there like the Beretta specials and some of the Harley Benton strat and super strats are supposed to be very good too . If I had a 500 dollar budget to start out with . I’d probably hunt down a beretta special for around 200 and then see if I could find a used DSL1cr or a used bassbreaker 007 . The Katana mkii 50 would be a good choice too if you were disciplined enough not to mess with all the fx and features they have . The more knobs and fox I have to fiddle with the less playing and practicing I do . The little fender headphone amp would probably be perfect for someone just starting out also .That’s just my opinion of course . I guess maybe beginners now probably start with free amp sims .
I was planning to buy Joyo DC15 or Blackstar ID Core v3. It's cheap
@@PaleCaretaker have you thought about buying the amp used?
Why should it get more expensive?
Squier #1, SG #2 but when you played the Shecter it sounded like Nina Struass was in the house.
I was hoping the you would fire up the Frank from the back hook .(
I own a js 32 ,awesome guitar except the copper frets that turn lime green that I have to clean every string change ,however my all blackout neckthru at higher price point rulz🤘
Dagan is awesome !
The JacksonJST32 just looks so sexy I know many love the Ibanez but for me personally I take the Jackson 100-1 over mostly the look. That neck is just so clean and sexy!
you look like you are having a ton of fun playing those guitars
Is poplar or basswood lighter?
Is the esp ec-10 a light guitar❓
I freakin' *love* my SG Special VE - and can we talk about that 14" fretboard radius?!
yo schecter sounds gorgeous
What does the red finger represent buddy?
I saw this dude say that the js series guitars suck and other guitars are better because they are more ergo and the paint job is better, while he was showing a second hand model lol. I have no issues with my js32t at all
Damn what are the settings on katana??
An Ltd m100fm it's good for metalcore?
For Jackson JS32t -- How is fret access on this especially for 17-24 frets considering the bolt on neck? Anyone having played this please tell
gojira riff desrves a like
I’d say that Schecter probably has Alnico pickups vs. `the ceramics in everything leading up to it.
Bought 2 japanese Jackson from 1998. It sounds and feels really good for 400€ each (500$)

The demo on the jackson dinky sounded like We stitch these wounds by Black Veil Brides !
It’s ‘My Perfect Weapon’ actually! Haha
@@DaganWilkin Oh yeah hahaha thanks for correcting me Dagan, it's been a while since I listened to theeeeem big fan btw :>
Those js11 dinky feel and play like premium
I went to guitar center and wanted to try jackson (I'm used to my bc rich or my brother's vintage strat) I decided to start with the cheapest and I got stuck playing a js11 for an hour or two and didn't have time to test a second guitar
I can’t decide, the JS32T Rhoads or the JS32 Rhoads whit the Floyd Rose? What’s the best? Any advice?
I mean if u have the know how and the patience to tune / replace strings / maintain tune on a floyd then floyd away my guy.
Ltd budget guitars are quite good
AWESOME RIFTING

How can one man be so cool all the time
that Ibanez was just made for the Metal! Great vid but 100 watt EVH 5150 amp :)
Dunno if it's a 2021 release, but the Sterling Maj100 is a great guitar
