Excellent video! I’ve had several ZJs over the years and have experienced these subtle batt drains before. This is the first time I’ve ran across discussion on this. Even with the quirks, ZJs are great and I way prefer them over these new disposable push- button vehicles in production today. Embarrassed to admit, but I’ve got 4 of them scattered around and still in-service.
Awesome, sounds great.
Loved part one and two! My son has a 1997 ZJ with the same battery draw issue and was told it was the BCM. Where did you order yours, if you don’t mind? I can’t find one online anywhere! Thanks!
I found mine on ebay, be sure part numbers match. Thanks for watching
Did you have to reprogram bcm.
I'm going to say one of your door switches is bad for the dome light. Or a broken wire in the driver door under the black boot.
I checked them all but sold the Jeep a year ago
Is the body control module voltage fed through the power control module?
I don't have my manual anymore so I don't know.
Is there anyway to keep the original mileage with the new body control module
Yes, the body control module does not effect the mileage.
@@b2zmodz220 Actually, the mileage is stored in the BCM. The only thing I can think of to keep the mileage is to have it reprogrammed.
I'm having roughly the same issues.
Crazy jeeps lol
I'm having issues with my body control module has good ground but can't get any codes pin 16 came up on the obd2 and that leads up to my fuse box to fuse 17it runs just fine then I put it in gear to drive it and it won't accelerate also when I hit the gas in park it doesn't want to reb up like it should also have no gauges working please help I'll give you my number if you need it to make things easier also it's a 98 jeep grand Cherokee
I had a rev problem in a old 4 cylinder car and it was a bad ignition Coil. These jeeps have a single ignition coil. Check the engine wire harness that is routed around the back side of the engine at the firewall. Sometimes the wires can be damaged from engine vibrations and cause many random problems.
I'm going to say one of your door switches is bad for the dome light. Or a broken wire in the driver door under the black boot.
It did start doing this until after I disconnected the positive battery terminal and unintentionally laid that positive terminal against bare metal ground with the negative still connected to the battery, for 2 or 3 days. After reconnecting the negative terminal, the PCM was dead. Ordered another PCM, everything seemed fine but the dome lights wouldn't go out. Jeep Cherokee pains
