    Do you have the link to installing the dc dc charger to the battery box using the cigarette plug on the blue wire please I am about to install mine and want to run it that way but unsure how it’s done.

      G'day Mathew,
      The blue wire for ignition needs to be connected to the positive (usually red) wire on a cig plug. The black wire isn't necessary, so long as you've connected the main earth back to the starter battery. Her'e the link:

      @@AdventureKings on a 2012 Ranger the cig plug is always on. Shouldn’t the blue wire go direct to a live wire that turns off with the ignition off?

    Does the solar charge both batteries? And can you adjust which battery gets most charge like the small redarc chargers?

    My knowledge of electrical is pretty limited but this DCDC charger is so easy and straight forward I cant want to test mine this winter when we hit the tracks and go camping.

      Not if you wire it up to a fuse terminal that only works when car is running. Once turned off it won't give power to that fuse anymore. Hope that helps

      @@jasonblade1037 I have wired my ( ignition wire ) to the cigarette 15a fuse, which only activates once the key is turned. Although I believe my kings dcdc 25ah charger continues to run / power my 100ah lithium battery even when the car is completely turned off. I think its designed to draw the crank battery down to 12.8v and then it shuts the dcdc charger off.

    I am replacing my AGM leisure battery to the Kings Lithium battery. Originally it has the ground connected to the chasis. Do I have to connect it to the negative terminal of Kings Lithiums? Thanks

    Hey mate, how would I go about installing this with the kings battery monitor? so that I can monitor the combined input of alternator, and also solar on the same panel? Going to be going for a portable box mounted system with the battery monitor on top. Cheers.

    I have an old school redarc solenoid isolator and lead acid deepcycle battery system under the hood of my hilux, it has an Anderson plug wired into the tray from the deepcycle battery, can I connect a 120ah lithium battery in a box with the dcdc 40amp charger next to the lithium battery in the tray so that I charge the lithium setup from the deepcycle lead acid battery under the hood if that makes sense?

    • @AdventureKings
      @AdventureKings  Місяць тому

      Hi there,
      These battery types are not compatible in the same system as there is nothing stopping the lithium completely discharging your other battery. This would require an isolator that doesn't allow backflow, but we would recommend consulting your local auto electrician to ensure your setup is safe and viable.

    Ive got all the gear to go into a caravan. Do we put fuses in the cable from Lithium battery? And do i need a dc circuit breaker between solar panel and dcdc charger?

    • @AdventureKings
      @AdventureKings  6 місяців тому

      Hi there,
      This would be safer for your setup if you have a fuse between your lithium battery and DCDC charger, but a circuit breaker between the solar panel and DCDC charger is not needed.
      Cheers, Courtney

    Can we have the links for the installs of the new dc dc chargers. And can you use the dual battery installation kit to that yellow wire

    • @AdventureKings
      @AdventureKings  Рік тому +1

      G'day Matty,
      ua-cam.com/video/aDXRTaaC6-M/v-deo.html here's the battery box install
      and here's the Control Box install ua-cam.com/video/QCAdAQf5qpY/v-deo.html
      You can definitely use the 50A wiring kit to hook up to the yellow wire - but if you're doing a particularly long wiring run (say in a caravan or camper trailer) and running the 40A charger you may want to consider using thicker gauge wiring!
      Cheers,
      Cahn

    Does the solar continue to charge secondary battery when the ignition is off

    • @AdventureKings

    Can I get some advice? I connected the ignition wire to a ciagarette socket and plugged that into the rear of my tub as per their video however the charging unit does not shut off as they said it will. I assume the blue wire and writes to both of the wires of the cig socket

    • @AdventureKings
      @AdventureKings  7 місяців тому

      Hi Mark,
      Sometimes depending on the vehicle this can still stay on after the car has been turned off. To test this we would recommend either checking with a multimeter or keeping something plugged into the ciagarette socket to see if it is still getting power after an hour of the vehicle being off. If there is still power then there is something wrong with the wiring.
      Cheers, Courtney

      HI Mark, I'm currently in the same situation. I'm literally testing it right now for the first time. I have wired my ignition wire to the 15a cigarette fuse in the fuse box with a piggyback fuse and my dcdc charger is flashing both lights ( lithium light and alternator light ) I beleive that it will cut off the dcdc charger once the crank battery falls below 12.8V

    How do we ground the charger?

    • @AdventureKings
      @AdventureKings  Місяць тому

      Hi there,
      As the unit connects to both the positive and negative of the battery it forms a full circuit and will generally ground via the vehicles electrical system.

    If i connect the 40amp charger to the quick connect on the battery box that has a max 30amp input, will i blow up?

    • @teeanahera8949

      30 amps is not much for an Anderson style plug, I thought they were all 50 amps. By pass the quick connect (Anderson style plug) and connect it straight to the battery terminal.
