did you consider making the oatmeal exactly like you have but separately store different toppings that can be added at reconstitution time ? Like small pouches or jars if at home. strawberries, different nuts, bananas etc. You could even add your own powder milk when away or fresh when you are home. You motivated me to do this, thanks
I’ve heard that strawberries take about 40 hours to freeze dry because of the seeds. So maybe I could add them already freeze dried when putting in Mylar bags. That would help the oatmeal finish faster. I have only been freeze drying individual ingredients. But in the event of power outages, it would be much simpler to eat meals like this that are already combined. Just add water.❤
