I've considered doing this webcam setup. I got the PSA1+ for mic, eventually I will get a mic to put on it. Might get a second one someday to put a camera in it.
The PSA1+ is a massive improvement. It has improved office desk mount, improved desk mount with rubber on the silver part too, the pin on the arm that goes into the mount has a plastic sleeve/bushing for smooth movement, it's very smooth, The arms have sleeves to prevent finger pinching, it has plates inside the sleeve, not just neoprene, but plates inside, so no way you can pinch the fingers. Another massive improvement is the arm does not spring up so it's not dangerous, but still comes with a warning, it has cardboard around it. The knobs at the top are different, they are black. But as PSA the PSA1+ will also have some wiggle, the arm wiggles a bit in the mount.
Funny. I use 1,482 different camera angles in my UA-cam videos and have been searching for years for this option. Why aren’t more doing it ?? Thanks for finally showing this option. (I’m Mascon Leather on UA-cam)
Great video. I’ve been using probably the exact same cheap boom arm from Amazon with my Sony ZV1. Absolutely loved it then it slowly started to not be able to hold the weight and has now broken after about a year. The Rode PSA1 looks great. Is it still working ok 6 months on? :)
Goodness. It's been 6 months? Yes. It's still great. There's a little shake occasionally if I bash the desk but only because I'm clumsy. Tempted to try the PSA1+ to see if it's sturdier
@@TheProvokedPrawn haha. Time flies. Yes, I saw that had come out. Thought I may save a bit of cash with the first version. Will look out for a video from you on the PSA1+ though if you get it. Keep up the great work. Really enjoying watching your content (am subscribed!)
i bought psa1+ , just a new version ,i made a video asmr unboxing the psa1+ in my channel, i hope those who are interested in this boom arm, visit my channel for a closer lôk at it.

Would love to see you do a video with the Rode PSA 1+.
I already had a PSA1+ for a mic so was wondering if it will fit dslr. Now I want to buy second one for the camera :)

It's not psa1 is better people used them 13 years and psa1 can handle more weight mics
Psa1+ can't handle heavier mics like psa1 the original😂
@Abdallah453-t2t Really? So it sags then? With which mics? Weight? I got Podmic, but not tried a massive mic.
@@Abdallah453-t2t interesting I didn't know this. But works well with Podmic.
@@mtbboy1993 Will work with rode mics very well
Still very helpful. Thank you!
I need a boom arm for my hyper x quadcast mic. Thank you.
This would work. The Blue Compass does too.

It's not perfect. But it works. I'm contemplating trying the new PSA1+ as it looks sturdier
Very helpful video! Thank you.
You're welcome!
Insanely helpful thank you
Have you tried with longer heavier lenses?
great idea ... great presentation ...thanks!
Brilliant!
I mean you dont have to just use a ball head, could use a fluid head or a gymble to eliminate shake. they all have similar connections
Thanks you! U helped a lot!
Glad it helped!

why use two adapters? and not just a single 3/8 to 1/4" adapter?
Huh. Never seen that adapter in my box. Or I'm blind. In any case, I think it'd be completely lost by now :(
Good vid
Thanks. Hope it was useful.
Great idea-thanks for putting this together! Random question-where did you get those Google Chrome dino game figurines from?
