I just ordered AstrHori a few days ago and it should arrive soon. I also have Laowa 2.5-5X lens, but I will sell it and keep the AstrHori instead. It does the same job as Laowa at a lower price. Besides, it is designed specifically for mirrorless camera (as I saw in the other lens review video).
Fair enough overview Jens. Looks like AstrHori is on a new lens marketing campaign, trying to make a name for itself. Reviews have been mixed. My sense is that good quality macro photos are best made w/o sacrificing quality. We get what we pay for. BTW, I don’t recall if you’ve done a vid on focusing rails or bellows - buying points and best way to use them. Cheers!
They seem to produce lens similar to laowa, same quality, half the price. I dont know if there is any "high end" 5x which I could use to compare, but the china version does same as the laowa ones. Yes, I did one... long time ago with slider+ which is called "Easy Focus Stacking Workflow for Mindblowing Macro Images | Slider+"
That is pretty awesome. Considering how small an area you can cover, would it be worthwhile to leave a video on with some kind of motion sensor? Much like hunters with their "game cams". It might take quite some time to cross the tiny field of view I guess. LOL Thanks
I saw another video where the AstrHori lens zoom elementt goes down when you photograph from above pointing the lens downward. I have this happening with normal zoom lenses after years of use and wear. But in the review I saw it happened with a new AstrHori lens.
I already have the Laowa version but this is tempting me because it starts at 2x instead of 2.5x. If it started at 1x I'd already have it. Not sure that extra .5x of range is enough to get it.
Hey can you do a comparison where you utilize / stack the following on a common FL 100mm 1:1 Macro lens: * Raynox DCR 250 * Raynox DCR 150 + DCR 250 * Raynox DCR 250 + DCR 250 * Raynox MSN-202 * Laowa/Astrahori 25mm 5x Macro

Wow, very impressive photos!
Have you tried the Zhongyi 20mm F2.0 ? (I had a look at your videos but didn't see it)

On my lens it is supertight, no issues (yet :))
They fixed that issue. I saw that in a follow up video. Micael Widell, I think?
Kann mich seit 3 Tagen kaum zurückhalten und wollte das Laowa kaufen. Jetzt ist das Astrhori morgen im Briefkasten. Gott, bin ich gespannt. :D
Did you use this on 6700? Hows the result with that? Planning on it.
Yes, the results are quite similar. The main reason I got the 6700 was because of 4k/120 1080p/240 for filming
@@anotherperspective3076 did you use Astrhori on A6700? Anything to keep in mind before buying that?

To be honest I Would only buy it if I Hadnt the laowa version already. The Performance is the same;) 2X VS 2.5 ... but its up to you
@@anotherperspective3076 It would also be nice to get the RF mount as my 25mm is EF. Still not sure that's enough but maybe down the line.
Wo hast den Adapter her?
Moin. Der ist von popeshield
@@anotherperspective3076 danke, da muss ich auch Mal schauen
Many thanks, I will buy it !

Sorry but I dont have a DCR150
This lens seems to be much more prone to flash reflection blur than Laowa.
Nice! :)
thank you
