Thoughts I had while watching this: #3: the moment I saw HP indicator move instead of the character just dying I thought "yep, can survive that one". Years of gaming taught me that scripted deaths don't reduce your health - they just kill you outright. #4: not once did I see the Vertibird not crash after shooting the pilot. Thinking back, though, it might've been due to damaging the 'bird as well with that shot, meaning it'd go down with or without the pilot. #5: flawed method, bad result. Hancock is essential + he always attacks Finn = you can't save Finn. It's that simple. The myth wasn't whether Finn has content if he survives, but whether you can save him. No, you cannot. Mods are fine when they help remove RNG (Myth #7 is an example of that); they are not okay when they literally change the starting conditions. Random fact: you can kill Finn yourself, and Hancock has a unique line for that, but you have to do it before the two face each other or Finn becomes "pass-through" and bullets can't hurt him anymore. #11: Now I'm tempted to use Penetrator perk on the head - knowing Bethesda, might work. And the game clearly trolled you with the lunchbox sound after the RPG shot. #14: do the artillery shells deal fixed damage? I don't understand this otherwise: how is "how many of X it takes to kill something" a myth, to begin with? What about a shell miss? CAN it miss, or is it scripted to deal damage no matter what? Does it deal lower damage the further away it impacts? More questions than answers. #17: Why Sugar Bombs specifically? Did you test this with other food items? Other items in general? This looks like typical "item in path = collision = bullet stopped" to me. If that's true, I don't see why SB box would be any different. #23: Same as #5 - removing Essential status invalidates the test. You cannot kill Deacon before meeting him "officially". #26: I was disappointed due to my own misunderstanding of the conditions: when I heard the myth, I thought it was about whether the synths and FH would auto-aggro on each other. After I realized it wasn't about that, it became a "how many of X does it take to kill something?". Random fact: changing the difficulty doesn't change the damage done by NPCs, it changes damage done to/taken by the player, so the difficulty doesn't affect NPC-vs-NPC fights. #29: The last idea I have before moving to another location for whatever reason: "Okay, how about a mini-nuke?" #30: What about the Vertibirds accompanying the Prydwen and/or those being deployed as it flies over? Can you shoot those down? It might be a good thing to adhere to THE Mythbusters' method if you plan on making these a series: "replicate the myth; duplicate the result". First, test a myth with the default conditions; and if that fails - see what it takes to get a success.
