He intrinsically knows that CAA will pass the constitutionality test. He is just creating a room for himself, for Congress states and not loose loyalty and create a vote base for congress.

Kapil Sibal often speaks opposite things on the same subject depending upon where the subject originate, with his party or with another party. He is just a word smith, not a consistent and wise attorney. If CAA, NPR, and NRC had originated with his party, he would be defending them. The fact is these ideas did originate with his party and Kapil was a signatory. He is now opposing his own ideas because BJP is going to implement them.

2. If it was a BJP person, you would have rightly asked about statements that person had made previously or anyone else in the party had made, that contradicts their current position. Here you have Sibal who supported CAA on record in 2003 & you Failed to challenge him..
3. Any serious journalist would have asked -“ So you want to open up CAA for muslims, Fine. But If you do, Won’t it open up citizenship to potentially 100 million Muslim minority sects in these 3 countries, Shias, Ahemadia.? Can a poor country like India afford this immigration?
