HOMEMADE PRACTICE RAIL (15 dollars)

  • Hope you enjoyed the video! I've been wanting to build a practice rail for a while now!
    This entire project cost between 15-20 dollars (If you already have a snowboard)
    Many of the practice products online are very expensive! They can cost up to 300-400 dollars including the rail + practice board. This is an alternative option to those products! it is much harder to do certain tricks on this rail due to the long board. Although I believe this gives you a more realistic experience!
    I can't wait until the snow season! Turf boarding is a great way to improve your skills but it can be expensive to make an entire set-up. This is a perfect way to progress your skills without a turf boarding set-up or snow!
    If you are new to the channel make sure to subscribe! I post mainly snowboard based content!
    Let's get to 5,000 subscribers by the end of the year! That's the goal! You think we can make it happen?

    I use a real board too but with the snowboard addiction rail - but i think yours one is way better. using a real board is super tough i agree, gets the cardio going!
    never tried dog poo though... xD

    Nice vid dude this actually looks perfect for snowskating! Something small that I can put in the car and take to a hill, sturdy enough to do some grinds and what not.

    Would using my board just on grass/dirt damage the base? I don't have any astroturf or anything but this seems cool. Also, I just found this channel and it freakin rocks

    • @JoeClarkVideos
      @JoeClarkVideos  3 роки тому +1

      i don't believe it would! make sure to wash off the base of your board with water when you're done! I'd say grass would be better than dirt but i don't think either would damage your board. i'd also recommend waxing it before you take it out on the snow!

    Great video. Making a practice rail, and this really helped. Are you using the lag screws to bolt the two 2 by 4's together or are they also needed with the bolts to keep the pipe attached to the wood? As my kid is only small I was only going to use one section of 2 by 4 so wondering if I need to use carriage bolts as well as lags? What would your dad recommend ha ha :) Thanks!

    Hey Joe Clark! I really want to also practice and I do ski's, so I'm not sure if I should follow the exact same set up or go for a 4inch pvc pipe. I am a total noob at rails and just want to get better. So if you could give a setup that could be quick and good for inside that would be really appreciated! Have a great day and hope you respond soon, bye!

    I’m trying to build one myself what kind of turf did you use?

    • @waynewebster6709
      @waynewebster6709 Рік тому

      The really cheap turf is the best. The expensive turf does not work. Just put a half cup of Tide in a bucket, use a garden hose to fill it up and then pour the soapy mix on the turf. It is super slippery. On even a 30 degree incline, you will go super fast. That approach should be about 20 feet long leading up to the feature. I used one 20 foot by 6 foot panel of the cheap turf and placed it on top of 3/4 inch thick plywood panels. Each plywood panel is 8 foot by 4 foot so I used 5 of those plywood panels and each of those panels is fairly heavy so you can't lift them on your own - you have to drag them around. You need a pickup truck to transport them. A car would be too small. Each plywood panel costs about $60 dollars. On a 30 degree incline, you do not need to nail/staple the turf to the plywood. There is sufficient grip on the rubber underside of the 20 foot long piece of turf.
