    Hey man I built this same build, and my younger brother cracked the end of the pipe, I had a few ideas of reinforcement so it doesn't happen to anyone else. I would recommend using sprayfoam on each open end for about a foot deep this way it won't split

      I know this is old but try using ABS instead of PVC abs wont break it may bend but ut will never shatter like pvc ...falling on a cold pvc rail full of screws sounds dangerous to me ...pvc as a tendency to break in cold condition ...if abs is not available there is a stronger rated pvc to be used so it wint break as easily

    I just saw a video you made 5 years ago and then clicked on this not knowing it was you and when I saw your dad STILL helping you build your backyard parks man you BOTH just gained a subscriber. I lost my dad when I was 11 and all the times I’ve had to do this at the local community hill by myself just for it all to be gone the next time I went back it made me wish and wish he was still here, you have no idea how lucky you are man. Make sure you remember to remind your dad time to time how much you appreciate him, I’m 21 now I haven’t done this stuff in years I also now have a 3 year old, you’ll realize even more then you do now just how important your dad is in your life you’ll find yourself teaching your own kids the exact same things he taught you but while your doing it you won’t realize but when it’s finally done and your watching your little ones ride everything grandpa taught dad how to make you’ll remember that the very man you are that day helping your kids is all because of your old man, wishing you guys both the best in life man let’s see a video of pops hittin that rail!!

    For future reference, you didn't have to take the PVC pipe back off the 2x4, you could have just used pocket screws through the legs and into the 2x4. Sick build though!

    • @JoeClarkVideos
      @JoeClarkVideos  9 місяців тому +1

      I used a 4in by 10ft PVC pipe for this specific rail. Not sure the exact model or type. It was purchased at The Home Depot. You can find a variety of PVC pipes at your local hardware store. Let me know if you have other questions! I'm happy to help in any way possible.

    • @JoeClarkVideos
      @JoeClarkVideos  8 місяців тому +2

      I used pressure treated lumber, which will resist the elements better than untreated lumber. Next timed I’d make the rail slightly shorter. This summer I lowered the rail by 3 inches. Otherwise, I’ve been super happy with the design. It’s held up very well so far!

      This won't hurt the board at all. Compared to metal rails and boxes, this is gonna be super forgiving to your board surface. The pvc with break before your board will, and that's pretty hard to do. I hope that helped

      Grate 4 bars of Ivory Soap using a cheese shredder into shavings in a bucket. Add about 1.2 gallons of hot tap water and then 3 ounces of glycerin and hand mix in the bucket. Let sit overnight in the same bucket and then it turns into a gel which you hand smear in a 2 foot wide strip down the center of the ramp. You only need to apply the gel once or twice a day. It has staying power & it makes you move really fast
