I love this delay but the ring Mod and other circuit sounds make me choose other delays these days. This was a great pedal for a long time tho and still great if you just want 1 repeat for leads or slapback playing.

Harry the Bit Crusha owes me money... but we won’t go into that right now.
I’ve not wasted many an hour messing with delays. Then I just end using my Pod XT delays, go figure. I like the tap tempo but usually don’t use it. Sotton and forgotten, right on. Love my PDS 1000. Mini loops are super fun with this thing.
Hope the promised PDS range review is coming soon.
    Now, about Harry...
    Houston out,
    Peace and Music

Nice video. I had the mkii version of this pedal but now have a CBA tonal recall red knob. While I enjoyed the aqua puss the tonal recall is at another level.

this is my favourite simple delay pedal that I've ever heard, but never owned!

With all the new delays out now, this still holds down a specific place,- great to add depth where reverb just doesn't sound right.Way Huge were the original go to for slap back and doubling, where the original Carbon Copy,- before they made the Bright model,- was often too dark and muddy in the mix.Sometimes simpler is better,- you can spend all the tweaking time on other effects.
The baritone is killer,- do you find the neck difficult to adjust to? Have tried a couple, and they seem to have that vintage," plank of wood" kind of awkward profile( as you find on old Kay's)...maybe it's just me, but I found it distinctive.

Not really...I find it a bit weird if I go from the Baritone to a short scale guitar...but a standard neck to the Baritone is not that different - for me anyways...and the neck profile is really quite nice and slim on this one

Nice demo as usual. I have got lots of Delay pedals but I still want more and more , Is this some kind of obsession? I don't know. But someone who is playing guitar says it's very normal and my wife says it's not.
    15:10 ...Have a nice flight...... :-)

Great channel and episode! Do you or anyone ever experience a volume drop and high end roll off when engaging the Aqua Puss? Or is that me?

I'm looking at the bypass.MXR/ Dunlop, who own WH now, used to be known for their crappy " True Hardwire Bypass" , - which is only partly actual" true bypass".This could account for the issues you noticed, generally more of a problem when placed before drive pedals.

Dumb question: What is the difference between Delay and Echo?

    • @sid35gb
      @sid35gb 3 роки тому +1

They’re very similar. Early units were tape echo. Then analog delay like the aqua puss and now we have digital delay. The main difference is the length of delay and how clean the repeats/ echo’s are. As for cleanness of repeats tape echo actually uses magnetic tape in a loop that over time degrades colouring the sound some like that. Analogue uses lots of capacitors in a row that discharge in a cascade (don’t quote me on that explanation) to create the repeats they’re not so clear but as shown in the video you can turn the knobs to get the psychedelic effects. Digital delay has pristine repeats and taken to the extreme you have your modern looper pedals.
      Hope that helps.
