The thing that kills me about people saying eminem only did X because he's white is the fact I've heard at least 100 black people say that. Sure he has gained a lot of fans because he's white like them, but he's also lost a lot of potential fans that never even were willing to listen to his music because he's white. It goes both ways.

This is one of my favorite Eminem songs. The reason why it has so many views Eminem had just started rapping again . He was gone for like 5 years , and nobody knew if he would ever come back to music at the time. So it was huge for people like me that grew up listening to him as a child.

If y’all want to see his lyrical ability really on display y’all should react to “darkness” and “never love again” by Eminem because both of those entire songs are double entendres. Idk if there are any other rappers who have that sort of ability to tie two things together and rap an entire song about it with punchlines that make sense both ways.
Castle and Arose is a better example of his lyrical and storytelling abilities that's what I would recommend both in one video though.

Eminem has proven time and time again hes the goat, everyone who steps to him gets bodied point blank. Nobody is on his level lyrically or creatively.
Em is a global icon, it surpasses the rap genre: greatest Western artist in Africa, him and Justin Bieber are biggest Western artists in Cina, biggest rapper in Asia. Europe started listening to many greats because of Eminem. Also- there's no way Tiger Woods or Pele are one of the greatest in their sports because they were a rarity. Talent x Work+Work+Work+Work + doing what 99% is not willing to do will get you there. Eminem is that rare beast.
Mozart got promoted by his Dad like MJ or Aretha were but, in the end, we all know they, too were those Crafters for the art they grew up with. Em had to raise himself, and was already working, rapping and raising kids, in the hood, at the same age these suburban youngsters are when they get up at 10, grab their iPad and hate on how he cannot know the culture. Although I'm going to assume that kid wasn't clever enough to put this together. But I do find it kind of funny that him referring to the elephant in the room being that one person is black and one person is white. Mix those two colors together and what do you get? Gray. Eminem is one of the very few rappers who has memorized the entire dictionary and has the ability to create the unique style of wordplay that he uses. He uses words that no rapper has ever used before.

Go listen to those kind of nights with Eminem and Ed Sheeran or the killer remix with Jack Harlow and corday. You want one of those inspirational kind of songs. He airs his dirty laundry all the time. If you listen to stepping Stones it's him talking about coming up with D12 and then proof dying in the group essentially falling apart and how guilty he feels for it. One of yall just said it at 7:18ish. Eminem has that articulation and tells a story. I couldn't tell you exactly why, just the way my brain works, but I love music for the story. Like a mini movie in my head. So I love to try and catch each bar and the world play but also just follow the story and message.

At the end of the day everyone has a goat list that differs person to person & genre to genre BUT don't judge an artist on a few well known hits - listen to their full discography in order to judge them as a whole.

I have to speak on this... LOL your thoughts of "the elephant in the room" are legit, no doubt about it, but it's still not fair to disregard Eminems talent due to it. Not to talk about his impact... I'm a fully grown woman from Sweden, who got exposed to hip-hop, and grew to love it, mainly because of Eminem. His songs played on the radio, on MTV and stuff like that when I grew up. I'd heard a few hip-hop songs before, like 2 Pac and Busta rhymes, but since Em came along, always promoting and paying homage to other rappers, he definitely helped turning me into the lover of hip-hop I am today. I'm fully aware that his skincolor was of significance, but does it really matter, if the fact he's white actually helped expand hiphop? I don't see how that's bad. I mean, there are obviously a bunch of doors to break down still, but Eminem definitely helped pushing the culture forwards! Trust me. ❤
Fast forward 6 months after they listened to the newer lyrical wordplay filled stuff and some crazy SSLP/MMLP stuff from Eminem and all the doubters have changed their minds.

Love this song. I think Em is and has been the most diverse rapper, the longest successful still around and has had the ability to reach a far more broader public than any other rapper. Oh, and let's not forget his talent with words, spitting out bars with no effort and can do this also with a speed no other rapper can. He's not without reason called the 🐐😉.

Jay-Z is top 10 but he’s not the GOAT. He’s a fantastic business man and marketer of himself but he’s not the greatest rapper. A lot of him is hype because he appears successful but when it comes to rapping and music and catalog Eminem’s number don’t lie. His bars don’t lie. Em is the goat in my opinion up there with 2PAC, Biggie, Nas, Ice Cube.
