I am 65 and discovered Röyksopp recently. I listen to this song everyday. It is one of the best songs I have ever heard (and I have heard thousands in most genres).
Something about this song is unforgettable, this group, really. I just happened to randomly buy this CD in 2005 when looking for "electronica" music, and here I am in 2024 almost tearing up at this video. Beautiful song, and beautifully shot and well edited video ❤
Mats Askelien I agree. I love this music videos that has nostalgic feel. I get the same feeling when i watch videos of Röyksopp's Do It Again or The Attic's A Life to Live.
FINALLY, after 16 years, I found this song! The first time I heard this song was between March-April 2005. I didn't know neither the title nor the name of group. How much time has passed! I'm Very Happy to listen this song! Greetings from Italy!
Only this (moment) Holds us (together) Close to (perfection) Nothing else (out there) No one to (guide us) Lost in our (senses) Deep down inside I know our love will die Only this (moment) Holds us (together) Close to (perfection) Nothing else (out there) No one to (guide us) Lost in our (senses) Deep down inside I know our love will die Only this (moment) Holds us (together) Lost in (confusion) Feelings are (out there) Scared of (devotion) Doubting (intentions) Deep down inside I know our love will die Stay or forever go Play or you'll never know What heaven decided You can't deny it's All you've been waiting for Stay or forever go Play or you'll never know Your spirit's divided You will decide if I'm All you've been waiting for Clouds in my head have been parted with grace By the voice of an angel revealing her face And her words they make sense 'n' I do understand Falling in love isn't part of the plan Forces within me mix reason with lust, but I'll try to accept it and not make it worse 'cause I know I might lose it by taking the chance (But) love without pain isn't really romance Only this (moment) Holds us (together) Close to (perfection) Nothing else (out there) Always (beside her) Trusting my (senses) Deep down inside I know love will survive Only this (moment) Holds us (together) Close to (the other) Nothing else (out there) Always (beside her) Trusting my (senses) Deep down inside I know love will survive
The video corresponds with the lyrics of "only this moment holds us together" The different women and men you see in the video are the same people, just in different time periods, because you see at the end of the video that the older woman and man who are standing the crowd turn into the younger couple, explaining the point that through the entirety of the song the lyrics change from "our love will die" to "love will survive" shown by the couple staying together.
One of the most exquisite songs i have ever heard, the lyrics are so beautiful like if theyre hiding some message, sounds like a dream to me. Thank you for this piece.. first time i heard i was 16 and now Im 32, the feeling wont change!
This song has a kind of indescribable feeling in it, a kind of rebellion against the present, or in other words, a kind of desire to return to the past and the things we left behind in those times.
If I remember correctly this song came out around 2004-05. Back then MTV used to have a segment called "Stuck in my Head" where they would select songs which were catchy and would get stuck in your head. 20 yrs have gone by this song is still stuck in my head...

I died to this song in summer '09... it was playing on my playlist when I drifted off into the darkness. I came back a different person... but I feel this song still holds a connection to whatever soul inhabited this body before I was revived.
This song describes perfectly the battle between your heart and your mind when you find yourself on the edge of being in love with someone. "Stay or forever go, play or you never know". Heard this song first time on Just My Luck movie (w/ Linsay Lohan and Chris Pine), back in 2006, and i´ve been searching for it like forever. Brings back so many memories
😊im 35 years old from india I've Been searching for this song for a long time, didn't know the name of the song. Today almost after 14 years found the masterpiece melody and I'm so much happy about it..... This melody always on my mind since then and now I can't stop listening to it❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
A story I have to share: 7 years ago I met a girl and watched a silly movie together and this song played in it and it clicked something. We are now married and have a child and this song has become our song something we can always relay to. Thank you Royksopp
@@steveulinski98, I heard it there as well, but after I had already fallen in love with it on MAD tv music channel. Back then we didn’t have Shazam and such, not even UA-cam, OMG! So I watched the movie credits carefully and when I found the song, I wrote it down and kept the note until I found the song later in time.
This song came out 15 years ago, and back in 2008 when I checked it out on UA-cam, it had only 1000 views. I can't fathom that it has only amassed a million views ever since! And this is one of their best songs.
I cry to this song almost ever time i HEAR it because it's so beautiful and sad to me at the same time. Commitment, loyalty, love, action with that devotion, multiple feeling states of compatibility that can't (but are really well described in this song) with words

you had several years trying to find the name of the song and I could not get the sound of the song now I had two tears when listening to it again I love this song
Idk if this genre is “techno” or if it’s something else I’ve never looked it up. but my mom was obsessed with this group when I was a kid. When I was really little, she would take me to work with her after school and she worked far away so we would listen to her cds in the car. Anytime I hear Royksopp it instantly takes me back 💜
How strong is this sing. i always remember this song in my mind when i did hear it firt time. and never forget those rtym and words thnx for every Good moments. i will die one day but i will always remember those beautiy words.
How does music always find you when you need it? Proof in my mind that music is more than art. Once given life by the artist it becomes its own entity finding the Souls it was meant to find. ❤❤ thank you for your creation. It found me....
I love the melody and lyrics as I tend to do with Royksopp songs, but Kate Havnevik's vocals add that extra something that closes in on perfection. The video may be depicting a couple at various stages in their lives, seen all in one place and seemingly all time compressed into one moment by the intensity of their love. In the background is footage from various people's movements in Europe, perhaps epic times they shared and which brought them together?
I heard it at the movie Just My Luck, but after I had already fallen in love with it on MAD tv music channel. Back then we didn’t have Shazam and such, not even UA-cam, OMG! SAME
SAME! They chose the good part of the song to add to the scene
I have no shame in admitting this song reaches a part of me that few songs ever do.
This is a song from my teenage years and the line "play or you'll never know" makes me think about all the chances I didn't take.
i feel you man, i guess thats how life is
for a high mind, this song and video gives the most "emotional in a nostalgic way" experience, amazing

Nostalgic? there is only this moment! lol
I thoroughly understand this.

Deep down inside I know our love will die
Only this (moment)
Holds us (together)
Lost in (confusion)
Feelings are (out there)
Scared of (devotion)
Doubting (intentions)
Deep down inside I know our love will die
Stay or forever go
Play or you'll never know
What heaven decided
You can't deny it's
All you've been waiting for
Stay or forever go
Play or you'll never know
Your spirit's divided
You will decide if I'm
All you've been waiting for
Clouds in my head have been parted with grace
By the voice of an angel revealing her face
And her words they make sense 'n' I do understand
Falling in love isn't part of the plan
Forces within me mix reason with lust, but
I'll try to accept it and not make it worse
'cause I know I might lose it by taking the chance
(But) love without pain isn't really romance
Only this (moment)
Holds us (together)
Close to (perfection)
Nothing else (out there)
Always (beside her)
Trusting my (senses)
Deep down inside I know love will survive
Only this (moment)
Holds us (together)
Close to (the other)
Nothing else (out there)
Always (beside her)
Trusting my (senses)
Deep down inside I know love will survive
