Couple of things that I missed out : I have made a similar design before for 1.7.10 but the new fuel values messed that up and many of you were asking for an RBMK design which works in extended so here you do Also you can use this design with other dangerous type fuel rods too and with something extreme even replace thorium rods with LeAUS rods as it is even less reactive. I was trying to incorporate that in rhis design but couldn't. As for water running out I suspect it might be the fuel temperature or maybe something I messed up while piping but i did check that multiple times. Anyways i will wait for a newer update to see what this is about. Finally theres alot of silent parts in the video, thats cause I had to make this while at work which gets very noisy so yea
From my own testing and knowledge I believe it has to do with the lps generated being too much for a single large cooling tower to handle, meaning the leviathan turbine's output buffer is filling with lps. If it isn't then I have no clue what is happening.

In real life the PWR are much safer, while producing the same power, but in this mod they both simply require coolant to not to explode. Although, RBMK here is more powerful, much more complicated to built, and unfortunately it laggs terribly. PWR on the other hand is really simple, very easy to build, (so you can simply build a lot of PWRs instead of one super large RBMK) and it spits out wasted fuel rods in automatic mode. But unfortunately, the PWR here has a significant drawback - it doesn't have a control panel
@@AL66WV I understand that PWR not having a control panel is inconvenient but considering how safe and stable it is if built right I'll definitely go with PWR over RBMK. Also coolant can be recycled infinitely so that's not an issue in the long run cause some of the coolants like heavy water are very easy to make. RBMK explosions are scary and difficult to clean up in survival so yeah PWR all the way

for 1.12.2 - ntm extended cause it is more complete (sort of you should go for ntm reloaded if you want a more authentic experience) and for 1.7.10 the main version no doubt
I've been playing ntm extended for a while, but never seen such problem with water. Also I'm not sure if you really need to use screwdriver, but it definitely can cause some strange pipeline behaviour (I've never used it and everything worked fine).
Well it does increase the throughput of fluids in it by several times so I consider it kinda necessary. When not using it in ntm reloaded the reactors used to explode. I will try making it without using the output mode

This reactor right here can deplete Balefire, Australium and Digamma fuel rods tbh. You will need to tweak some control rod numbers but it should work as there are Thorium rods to control the reaction and if you are using a rod that is like very dangerous you can replace thorium with LeAUS rods which is even more inert
Well sitting there on the top is the king od power producing reactors - the DFC but yea in terms of nuclear reactors the RBMK is pretty good as it is very modular
Hey Savage vegetan, i just wanted to say tha i used a tank with water on output and then connected the water pipe of the colingtower to the water pipes of the reactor and the it worked
help i did this on extended and forgot about the water inlets, temp went up so i clicked az-5 and now i have free radiation to give out!! i should probably throw in boron sand now
so when thorium rods will deplete what should i do? shut down the reactor and replace them? or what.. and if i have to shut it down how should i do it safely?
Inserting all the control rods completely should do the trick as with no control rods up the reaction should stop. Then you can replace the thorium rods and wait for the schrabidium rods to deplete

For example such machines as chemical plant and assembler has output slot, which can be connected to crates. Is there option to do the same with press and furnace?

It seems native conveyor missing in 1.12.2 port of this mod, as i couldn't find them, so i used one from immersive engineering, and it seems it cant interact with hbm machines, even with simple one block furnace, sadly because it working with other mod machines and in absence of standard conveyor in my versions it was my only solution. i need some help, i have build 2 reactors of this tutorials, but the second reactor cooling tower was good. but after some hours the coolant reached max water and max low presure and it doesnt do smoke from the cooling tower.
I think that buildup happens cause the cooling towers are not enough so adding one more can do the trick, plus the whole water loop system is a little bit broken in the 1.12.2 version of ntm like for example in the case of a modular nuclear reactor water won't loop back at all. This problem shouldn't really happen in the 1.7.10 version tho

@@WinWorldE1 green smoke means that radiation is leaking from the reactor cause it is not sealed off properly, even a single missing rbmk cover will cause that however that won't make it explode. Also if you're in 1.7.10 then using the creative infinite tank and fluid gauges you can measure the amount of water reactor consumes per second and using that number you can easily calculate the number of cooling towers you will need. ( A single big cooling tower can process 200,000 mb/s of low pressure steam and convert it into water)
How did you get the RBMK console to display information visibily without opening the console? I could see the rods on the screen in the video, but in my minecraft world, I cannot get it to work.
Guess it has to do with the version of the mod you're using, if you download the latest version of ntm extended the same feature will be available to you as well

Its the best reactor with low cost and good energy output (i did the same before) even with thorium-uranium (at least 2MHE)

Create a RBMK for ThMEU rod depletion since its one of the cheapest fuels to make (for bismuth production)
This reactor right here is a thorium depleting reactor
It depletes the thorium rod faster than the Schrabidium rod xd

Cause the lower the height of the reactor the better performance it gives. That's why I set it to the least value xd

Set the pipe to output mode increasing its throughput
