I understand that the audio is messed up from about the 1min mark till the 7min mark. I now know what the issue is and WE will be redoing the Gumleaf Boot portion of this video and reposting that bit of video. but as for the rest of the video the audio seems good. My apologies for the bad audio in the video we are not pro videographers or video editors and I am sure that shows.
That's the only way to learn. All the good channels have had technical this or that. Y'all will get dialed in. I've been looking for videos of you. I've seen what there is and you are a damn predator. Press on
Awesome, I’m happy I check the comments before I asked about it. Thanks for the videos, it’s really cool to get the info direct from the legend himself
Question/idea for video, This is reference to scentlok. Best practice for scentlok as outer layer or base layer. I have a firstlite cold weather jacket and a weatherwool jacket. Using a scentlok base layer with these jackets with a regular mid layer for upper and then scentlok pants with my morino wool lower base layer; would that work well, good or great? If bad, then why and what is the fix? I have a lot of money in those jackets and my wool base layers. One of the negatives that might be is the scentlok is on two different plans.
I'd love to see a video of you out scouting and showing an example of a primary scrape area, with follow up of how you found that area, what you saw on a map that make you decide to go scout that area
I've been waiting for this video! Thanks for sharing. I just wish you would only tell ME and not the whole world. Lol. Please make more hunting story videos. I love listening while driving. I'm following all your scent control regimen this year. Can't wait!
I’m glad you mentioned the detail about aggressive soles picking up mud. I hate when the mud dries out while I’m in the tree and starts to sprinkle onto the ground.
How to you keep your tree saddle equipment scent free? I’ve seen your videos using scentlok for your clothes and backpack but what about your ropes and saddle?
Great info! I watched the walk-thru video of your mommy wagon with the Tethrd guys a few years back and took your advice on the Baffin Titans. Let me just say, those are the best late season boot I have ever used, so thanks John, for changing my late season sits! Good Luck this season!
I’d like to see a detailed video on all day sits. If there are any tips on keeping comfortable throughout the day. Tactics you use for staying in the tree.
Here’s a video he did with waders for entry and exit tactics: ua-cam.com/video/M81wADhe5ug/v-deo.html I usually carry my hip boots or waders to my crossing location. I put on the waders, and carry my boots while crossing and then remove the waders and hide them well near the river/creek while hunting. However, if my spot is really close the crossing, I have worn them in the tree. It can all depend on the temperature, and the distance I have to walk to avoid sweating. I recommend practicing changing prior to season. You will learn how your layers fit or don’t fit under your waders and avoid frustration while trying to cross a river in the dark.
Thank you for doing a video on this topic!! You have so much material out there that covers everything in great detail. So videos on the finer details like boots, selecting the correct weight of rain gear for the day, are great for people like me that have read all your books, articles, podcasts, etc.
John just getting into saddle hunting this upcoming season we need a video on the methods you use and techniques you use to help you be successful in the deer woods
Im so appreciative that tou have started making videos on your own channel jon! Im a huge fan man cant wait to see some hunts and scent control videos from you man! I know when I watch you I'm always going to come back learning something thanx jon!
@@eberhartoutdoors4219 that awesome.slipping in a small little block like that where u can see the other end of the woods & knowing theres posibly a buck laying down on the other end.
Get away from all the idiots.i live in arkansas to.gotta get to an area that dont have people going in & out.and dont feed.every person i know here dumps corn out a week before season & shoots the first deer that walks to it.that being said.tbe big bucks stay in thick cover during daylight hours.get away from feeders & people keep the wind in ur favor & be scent free.then u will start scoring! I thought the scent control on rubber boots was hooey until I watched myself get busted twice from animals crossing my scent trail that was left hours before. I switched from leather to rubber boots and haven't been busted from ground scent since. Been busted plenty other ways but not from ground scent. I also learn to pick my way though brush carefully and not touch anything with bare hands. Makes a world of difference.
There is an article that John posted on his Facebook page approx 1 month ago about the gumleaf boots. It has the discount code and more info. Website also is gumleafusa.com
If you listen your can still understand... Curious unrelated question... I've wondered this for years after following you; you talk about doing all day sits... What do you do about the bathroom needs over a 10-14 hour time frame?
Yep bad audio first half or so of video but as always great info John! Would love to see a video about about your bow/arrow set ups and a demo on how you climb trees with your saddle set up and tips for a first time saddle user to quickly learn and be comfortable with it. Thank you!
No comprende'. Sounds like National Weather Service warning when it hits the fan in central Louisiana. I'm sure it was good though. I'm looking forward to future content
LL Bean is famous for having invented what people now refer to as the "pac boot". Not sure why people always credit Sorel who started making them in the 1960s when LL Bean has been making them since 1911.
Mature deer absolutely have to be able to smell the rubber in our boots. If we can smell it, they can smell it, I'm wondering if the rubber smell travels or is blown through the air where the deer can smell it. Even an old rubber boot that's been in the mud for a few seasons, still smells pretty strong of rubber.
@@dualthreatoutdoors Thanks, I will give it a try. So far I haven't been able to eliminate the rubber smell even on my older boots, I'll try the ozone & the dirt burial. I know ozone can make some rubber tacky.
we would still recommend burying the in a wheel barrow or bucket in swamp dirt (not mud) up to the throat for at least a weekend to a week to get rid of the smell
Between the 3 of us ( John, Jon, and Joe ) I feel we should take the time to read and respond to the comments. After all we are doing this to help people become better hunters or to help sharpen their skills - Joe

You guys are awesome. Happy to have had the pleasure of knowing the Eberharts.
Loved the Rocky Corn Stalkers...my first real hunting boot in the mid 80's.
You must be using your mic from the 70’s too
John. Can u do a voice over on this video?
Also how much security cover is enough?

Dry shod no sho ultra hunt sre awesome
My question is where should I plan e my ground blind? I see lots of does on an oak ridge but the bucks normally come out much later.
I wear Lacrosse 4X Alpha snakeproof in central Louisiana. Got some 9'' lace up insulated too
I’m glad you mentioned the detail about aggressive soles picking up mud. I hate when the mud dries out while I’m in the tree and starts to sprinkle onto the ground.
When you get your boots aired out do you still store them in air-tight containers separate to your clothes?
How to you keep your tree saddle equipment scent free? I’ve seen your videos using scentlok for your clothes and backpack but what about your ropes and saddle?
I think he treats them the same as the these boots from other videos I've watched of his. Outside air out
How cold can the lacrosse be worn? What amount of insulation are they?

Same here! Best late season boot ever. Thanks John!
The audio gets better around the 7:21 mark, unfortunately anything before that was pretty rough. But still lots of good information from 7:21 on
I’d like to see a detailed video on all day sits. If there are any tips on keeping comfortable throughout the day. Tactics you use for staying in the tree.
If you wear hip waders in to get to to your spot, do you wear them in the tree or do you change into a different boot after you clear the slop?

I would you give your advise on bowhunting after gun season. I hunt mostly small parcels of land 500 acres or less
500 acres or less is not a small parcel of land.hunt 40-80 acre blocks & then youll know what a small parcel of land is lol
some of the places we hunt are 3 acres or less

Yeah would love to watch but audio is rough cant make out half of what your saying in the first 4 minutes
skip to the 7:27 mark good from there

We use a bottle that we keep in our packs
@@eberhartoutdoors4219 thanks, that makes sense! It's something never covered but definitely a real "problem" with scent control...
We couldn’t understand any of the discount code or anything really about the new boot
bow hunt is the code and the audio is good after the 7:26 mark
Good info. Bad audio.
I can't wear Mucks too much in the steep Pennsylvania hills. They are downright dangerous haha. I like Salomon GTX
couldn't understand a word, couldn't watch but i would've liked to watch

Great for up north, but down here in the south and the heat, we have to deal with the pit viper clan of snakes, rubber just is a no go.
Lots of sound artifact issues
it was his neck pushing into the mic when he looked down -Joe
I wouldn't know I couldn't make 4 minutes in the video because of the audio.

Film more scouting and hunting! Show your set ups, and areas. Show your gear. Do deer hunting 101 for beginners, any video from you will be good.
Audio bad lost me in a few minutes
So why are pack boots a big deal? You skipped right past that...
part 2
I’d like to see more about the rain gear you wear or pack in to hunt in the rain.
that video is coming soon and will be a longer one at around 45 min

The initial rubber smell, absolutely, but if you do Johns dirt burial method or treat them with an ozone machine they will be scent free.

underdog outdoors try the Scentlok oz 500; best ozone machine out there. Just do 1 30 minute cycle then keep your boots outside
